I suffer from thinning hair and so I omit using conditioner after I shampoo my hair. The reason for it is this. Each time I apply conditioner to my hair, more hair falls out during the application and sticks to my fingers. So by the time I have rinsed out the conditioner, that is a large wad of hair around the shower drain hole which is very distressing to see. When Beauty Heaven sent me a sample of Palmolive Naturals Active Nourishment Conditioner to use in conjunction with its shampoo, I expected the same thing to happen. What surprised me about this conditioner is its consistency which, unlike other brands of hair conditioner that I have used, is very light. It also has a nice fragrance that reminds me of apples. I haven't experienced any product buildup either which is nice. This is a fantastic product for those who're looking at cutting their beauty budget while maintaining good quality. The bottles are huge for the price you pay so it'll last a while too.

My grandma was a big Palmolive fan but my hair hates its shampoos as it always give me dandruff so I haven't used it for almost 15 years now. It comes in a sturdy green flip top bottle which I like better than the slippery conditioner bottle. The product itself has a white and almost runny consistency. The smell is fresh and really nice, lingers all day as well! I have long hair but very fine and thin so I wash my hair every other day only. I used this product in conjunction with the Active Nourishment shampoo. What I loved about this product is the scent, it continues to linger in the hair even after hair is dried, the scent is fruity and not at all overpowering, scent lasted a number of days in fact, even after my long runs. As much as I wanted the product to work on my hair, it didn't. My hair is very dry due to bleach and colour and all it did was weigh my hair down and it lacked shine, so I would say not a good product to use on coloured hair, mine anyway. I received the Palmolive Naturals Active Nourishment Shampoo and Conditioner as part of the Trial Team. I have rather fine hair which is fairly normal but can tend to be oily at the scalp and dry at the ends. After using this shampoo for the last few washes I have found that it is an ok supermarket shampoo but I don't feel that it was amazing. I appreciated that the shampoo and conditioner bottles are different shapes so that it is quick to identity which product is which. I found that I am not a fan of the scent of this shampoo. It smells cheap, almost like a household cleaning product but it didn't seem to hang around in my hair throughout the day which was a relief. I found that the shampoo lathered up a lot. I thought I have found another product that can outdone my old shampoo and conditioner but the dandruff is a deal breaker. I really wanted to continue using. On first impressions, I noted that the bottle appears quite sturdy with a lid that closes easily. I do generally prefer shampoo bottles where the lid is at the bottom, to maximize the amount of shampoo you can get out of it, but the packaging is still very good in this case. The first thing I noticed when I actually used the shampoo is the amazing smell - fresh, fruity and delicious! On the back of the bottle it claims to be a 'fresh, lasting scent'...and this is certainly true. I did find that the scent lingered in my hair longer than any other shampoo that I have used recently, which is great because it makes me feel that my hair is ultra refreshed. In terms of the 'new, improved formula' - I cannot comment on this as I have not tried the original formula. My hair did feel clean and refreshed after use, and I was satisfied that it did a good job of removing oil and product build-up. I usually only wash twice a week, and I found that I was able to stay with this frequency while using this shampoo. Overall, I think this is a great shampoo to use if you are on a budget. I would recommend this for normal hair, however as I do have colour treated hair, for now I would stick to colour safe options.
