Panasonic AM/ FM Portable Radio

We have used it for nearly a month now. It is a good quality radio in decent size, portable and not too small. The volume of the voice can be loud enough for my 80-year-old mother. She puts it on her bedside and listens to it every morning. Sound quality is good especially when we listen to FM radio. Tuning the radio is easy, too. It has an antenna with an adjustable length. The only downside is that the antenna is not 360-degree adjustable, only 180 degrees. Therefore, when we want to listen to a radio station where the signal strength is not good enough and after failed attempts of adjusting the antenna, we have to put the radio on the bed in a horizontal way and adjust the direction of the radio in order to get a better signal. Boxed sound

This updated model offers a better station tuner. The former tuner was terrible; requiring you to turn the tuning dial often to keep on the radio station selected. This new model seems to have a 'boxed-in' sound. Don't know why Panasonic changed that as the former had a better treble sound. Handles are the same; so the handle will probably come away from the side holders at some stage again. Flimsy brackets that hold the handle in place.

Highly delighted with this purchase

I would recommend this portable radio if you want a simple radio AM/FM on and off. Just plug in as no setting up with Bluetooth or other bells and whistles. It has great sound, very stylish and a compact size. Highly delighted with this purchase.

One Flaw

Very Iffy when using plugged in via the power cord.Although advertised as working both on 3 AA batteries and a power adapter, the latter is only somewhat true. When plugged into power, the signal is heavily interfered with, whereas in the same place, on batteries, it was crystal clear. To be fair though, the batteries do last a decent while, on my usage, beyond 5 weeks. If you're ok with the batteries and ditching the power cord, then a solid radio. Tuning works as expected, gets plenty loud, decent build.

Panasonic Portable Radio

I bought this radio for my Dad so he can listen to the cricket or football when he is out in his shed. It's a great little radio and the price was good also. I bought from the Good Guys because, I buy all my electrical products from them because of the quality and range and if there is something wrong with my purchase they fix the problem.

Panasonic RF-2400D FM-AM 2 Band Receiver

I wanted a radio that wasnt digital and thought this was a smallish radio. However, its bigger than I expected but its still light and portable, being 20cm length x 12cm height with handle folded behind unit (16cm with handle raised) and 6cm depth (7cm if handle is folded behind the unit). It has a rotary dial to select stations and to adjust the volume, a slide switch to select ON, FM and AM. It comes with a power cord and has battery capacity (4 x 1.5v). There is an extendable aerial which clips down flat when not in use. I was surprised at how clear and loud this radio actually is, so am pleasantly surprised. Waste of time.

I reside at Kew NSW and purchased the unit for personal purposes. Spoke to salesman and explained why I wanted a good radio. Stated this was a very good product. It is able to tune into about 3 stations, mainly ABC. useless. The product will be returned for a credit as stated by the sales person. Very disappointed

great reception

I live in a rural area with awful reception, but have been craving some easy background music; in the past I have had a few radios with no success -expensive purchases with horrible scratchy reception. So I was sceptical about this little number - but I am so pleasantly surprised!!- great reception and sound .Would definitely recommend.

portable radio

I bought the radio so as I could listen to some "AM" stations clearly . Other pocket radios I have were not doing the job very well. At first this new radio worked well but now it keeps losing the one station I have it on and the sound continually goes in and out and yet it still in the one spot in my kitchen that it has being since I purchased it. Would not recommend it to someone who is considering to buy it.
