We have been searching for an NBN compatible phone for my Mum who has significant hearing loss. This phone is terrific. She can now receive and make calls easily. Other phones we tried did not work for her even at the maximum volume. Elderly users may need assistance to set up the phone if they are not technically competent. A hard copy of operating procedures comes with the phone.

The main reasons for purchasing this product were as follows: the large dialling numbers, flashing red light when ringing, adjustable ring tone volume and the built-in answering machine. Took very little time to set up and enter numbers into the phone book. One feature that I wasn't aware of, yet proved extremely helpful, was the fact that if anybody in your phone book list rings you, their name is called out by the phone hand set - great if you don't have your glasses handy at the time. The phones are excellent. They were purchased for a relative who is disabled and could not get to the standard phone in time to get calls. These phones are loud so he can hear them as wells as the light on them alerts him to incoming calls. He has the phone attached to his walker so it is now with him at all times. The other day he had a fall in his home and could not get up, but he had the phone with him and rang for assistance.. Excellent cordless phone and certainly recommend them.
This was a xmas gift for my mother. She loves the phone. She has two hearing aids but had problems hearing on her old cordless phone which was especially for 'hard of hearing people.' She use to get frustrated talking on the old phone as she could not hear people and kept asking them to repeat themselves. No problem hearing with this Panasonic phone.She loves the speakerphone & answerphone features on the phone. The phone flashes to let her know when its ringing. This happened the other day when she did not have her hearing aids in. She answered the phone when she saw it flashed and she could hear thru the speaker phone because the volume was up loud.I would definately recommend this phone to every household, not just hard of hearing people.

The set-up is user friendly, the larger numbers/letters are great visibly and my grandmother regularly compliments the hand-set design and comfort. I purchased this phone about 7 weeks ago in Perth W.A.. Generally I find it to be a very good phone. I have only two complaints about it. 1. I have set & reset the time on many occasions only to find that as soon as someone phones in the time resets itself back to Queensland time. (Fine if you live in Queensland). -2. The other issue is a minor one. I have had cheaper phones with a much better "Phone Book" system. The process of loading different numbers to each person is cumbersome & slow. - The company needs to look at the programming for these two. Aside from that it's a great phone.
This unit surprised us with it's many features making it suitable for the hard of hearing and for sight impaired people. In addition to large illuminated keys, and a large and readable lcd screen, it can announce the name of identified callers, and block scam calls. Ringer volume is adjustable to suit your needs (up to 100dbs), which is a big plus for us. Range appears to be no problem. and the phone can be used around the property. The phone book is very easy to set up, and holds more numbers than you will need. Highly recommended.
I am a Disabled Veteran who is wheelchair bound and need hearing Aids. Why am I telling you this because in the last 5 Years we have looked for all types of Hands free phones that are loud enough to hear if you are in another part of the house or a little Deaf. The beautiful thing is you control how loud you want it and you can also control the volume of the caller! Great hands free, greatconference , headphone Jack etc. No I am not getting paid for this comment. I was upset after receiving professional advice on which one to buy about 6 months ago from a hearing agency and as soon as I took it home and Charged it the phone was a disaster. I could not believe it after spending more money than this phone.
