This was bought to replace a DSLR damaged in a fire. The lense range, 20-1200mm is amazing, I use the wide angle range far more than the zoom. However due to the rather poor user guide, I actually found the DSLR easier to use initially. Also, the salesman advised me that this camera cannot facilitate a lense filter to protect the lense from sticky fingers, scratches etc, which with a DSLR you would simply buy a new lense, but here would mean the camera is a write off. In fact a 55mm filter screws on nicely. The lack of a comprehensive instruction manual means I have somehow changed a setting so that everytime I press the shutter, it takes s burst of 3 shots. One day I'll get time to Google how to change this.Other than these issues, get a second battery as mine ... MoreThis was bought to replace a DSLR damaged in a fire. I had a previous Lumix bridge camera and I know the quality would be good. My main camera is a DSLR which is generally more versatile for photos, but having a bridge camera is useful where a DSLR isn't handy. A lot of options from straight and shoot to adding filters to going on manual mode. The reach is on it is fantastic, from 20mm to 1200mm (using 35mm equivalent) and the option to push it further to 2400mm using Intelligent Auto setting which is a digital zoom, but given the distance involved with a digital zoom there is a loss of quality, but overall is an acceptable loss and the quality is normally ok or good depending on lighting. There is the option of saving photos in RAW and also 4k photography and filming. I bought this camera because I like to take wildlife photos and I just can't bear lugging the heavy DSLR around with the long lens. The reviews were good and I contacted someone who had this model, and who recommended it. I haven't had it long and I'm still learning all the features. But so far, I have been very impressed having achieved some great pics. I'm really impressed by the stabilization and the post focus feature. And the ability to save both JPEGs and raw images simultaneously and quickly thanks to the fast processor is a real bonus. The only downside is the small sensor generates a bit of noise at high ISO settings in low light. I set the limit it to 1600 which seems to improve the quality. The only complaint I have so far is the complexity of the menu system. You can ages looking for something as simple as formatting the SD card. The Zoom is fantastic. It would be nice if the lens was removable to permit the use of other lenses from the Panasonic range and the 18Mp is a little disappointing. If I insist on 24Mp resolution I could pay a lot more for a camera. Why can't Panasonic, or someone make it possible to upgrade the sensor.

Good Points: Fantastic range of features for the money. I have had the camera for a couple of months and am still learning about how best to use it. The build quality didn't seem quite as good, no automatic viewfinder sensor and no level indicator in viewfinder. However the biggest disadvantage with these value cameras is their lack of weatherproofing - part of the reason for my need to upgrade as my TZ70 had developed faults due to dust getting in.Also Panasonic have now, annoyingly, abondonded their Limixclub service which is still built into the camera for wi-fi file transfers - though direct to device WiFi transfer is still possible - making upload to cloud possible but more complicated.

Good Points: I love this camera!! It’s relatively easy to use (there’s still lots I need to learn though), and the picture quality is fantastic. I’ve been taking lots of wildlife/bird photos, and the images, even when zoomed right in, is brilliant. I have nothing bad to say about this camera and would highly recommend it to everyone.Improvement Points: If I was being very nitpicky then the only thing I would improve would be the lens cover. It does its job, but could be a bit sturdier and easy to use. This would not put me off buying the camera though.
