My last microwave was exactly the same model. It lasted 5 years and then started to corrode inside. I opted for the same model because it is the size I need and it is simple to operate. I hope it lasts at least as long as the old one. The dark interior might have something to do with how the waves work but I have seen other microwaves with white interiors which obviously work as well. A light interior would be aesthetically more pleasing and would make it easier to see what's going on.

Bought this to replace previous larger Panasonic oven that had lasted years. Went for a smaller size this time. Was concerned that there may not as many cooking options to use but this is not the case. Cooks well. Other comments mention a build up of steam, but I just leave door open for a few minutes after cooking and it doesn’t seem to be a problem. Very pleased with this compact microwave that still performs well.

I use the microwave very infrequently so decided to replace a high spec combination oven with this one. I only use the oven to defrost bread, make porridge for breakfast and cook rice.Every time I use the oven to cook rice the inside surfaces are dripping with condensation and there's a large pool of water on the turntable and floor of the oven. I use a microwave rice cooker and follow the instructions for rice to water ratio. Rice is perfectly cooked, but there is a significant amount of condensation on all the inside surfaces.

I was looking for a reasonably priced, smallish counter top microwave for my newly installed kitchen.I looked at the reviews and features and found this one that was on promotion. Only when it was delivered did I realise that it's the updated version of a Panasonic I had about 10 years ago (which I gave to a friend as is still going strong). I was delighted - I loved the old one as it was so easy to use and this one is like being reunited with an old friend. It's simple, blends in to my white kitchen, is low noise, and does everything I want it to do, including accommodating fairly large dinner plates. I would definitely recommend it. Excellent value for money too.
My current Panasonic has paint peeling under the turntable and at the edges behind the door.Unfortunately this happens if you do not wipe off the moisture created by steam shortly after cooking. The same goes for the turntable. The lower dimple where the wheeled turntable runs scratches its running surface so water accumulated there allows it to rust easily. Previously I have used a white metal paint (like those giving a hammered finish) to cover over the bare metal surfaces once they are bone dry.
I mainly use a microwave for heating and cooking so I haven't used the presets. The reason this only warranted 3 stars is the way in which the timer buttons work. If you stop the microwave mid countdown and want to add additional time you can't just press the seconds or minutes buttons to add time you must cancel the time and start again. Equally you can't add time whilst the microwave is running, possibly spoilt by my old microwave which had these features. I also find the buttons are a bit elusive at times and I end up pressing two or three times before it will register. Apart from that it works like any other microwave with a similar wattage.
Our previous microwave although still in working order began to rust in the corners after many years. Wanted an identical one and this was it. It just does the job efficiently and hopefully as reliable as previous one. But have learned our lesson, always allow the inside to dry off by leaving the door open after use. (we switch off at the mains now).We like the auto features such as defrosting bread and the convenient cooking time setting. Also like the clean lines and absence of any protruding knobs and things. The surface is easy to keep clean with no mucky crevices.
We always have had Panasonic microwaves, and they have always lasted well. Until now we have had large, all-singing, all-dancing ones (most functions of which were never used). Having downsized, when the old microwave died, I realised that a smaller microwave would be much better. I had concerns that I might miss some things, but having had this for some months now, I can honestly say that it does absolutely everything I need it to. I wasn't convinced that the dinner plates would fit in there - but they do, and yet it takes up much less room in every direction.I have no regrets about buying this at all. JL was the best price (despite other stores' "Price Promise").
Looks good and works ok. Two big concerns;1. The Microwave power rating is not present on the front. So unless you have the original paperwork, no way of of knowing it's an 800 W appliance. They have stuck a small sticker near the back of the appliance to give this information - very poor.2. The power on and off controls are very small.Pretty hopeless user friendly appliance from Panasonic. Was a replacement for a previous Panasonic microwave, which was very user friendly and addressed the above concerns.
When is Panasonic going to address the widespread issue of paint peeling in their microwaves. My current Panasonic compact microwave works well but the paint has peeled inside and I am concerned that it is not safe to use. Many people have complained about this issue, which wasn’t a problem with my previous Panasonic microwave (same spec) and I wonder .what Panasonic are doing about it. For financial and environmental reasons I object to having to replace something that works perfectly well but is dangerous to use because of some cosmetic issue, that hasn’t been an issue with previous models.
