I bought the irrigator 2 weeks ago and have been delighted.Once charged it lasts the whole week before needing a recharge. The water tank is sufficient to clean teeth both sides and top to bottom with a little left over to go over any needed areas. The different intensity levels work well and allow differing levels for both myself and my wife. It's the best irrigator I have used.

I already had a water flosser, but they are usually too large to easily pack for travelling, this one packs down to quite a small unit which also holds the removable tip, so it packs easily. Once you get used to how it expands for use it's easy to use. It's effective at flossing and the tank holds just enough water for one use. It's easy to rinse and dry it if you need to pack it quickly. I'm very pleased with the design, and so far I've not run down the rechargeable battery after 14 days of use from new.

I was given the Panasonic DJ40 Rechargeable Oral Irrigator by Panasonic to review as part of the Panasonic Reviewer programme. This is the third Oral Irrigator / Water Flosser that I have owned and I have found the EW-DJ40 to be an outstanding performer. Why do I use an oral irrigator? Well, my teeth have very little space between them and I find flossing difficult if not impossible and as a result my gum health was suffering. My gums had a tendency to bleed, but since I have been using an oral irrigator this is a thing of the past and now my dentist comments on how healthy my gums are. My first water flosser was of a different make and, although successful, was poorly built and didn't last. I then bought the Panasonic EW 1411 which I found to be of much better ... My first water flosser was of a different make and, although successful, was poorly built and didn't last. I then bought the Panasonic EW 1411 which I found to be of much better quality and highly effective - I did however buy it because of the 4 mode water jet and find that I only really use one mode! My experience with the EW-DJ40 has also been very positive. It arrived well packaged with virtually all of the packaging being recyclable - the first plus point. The user manual was easy to follow with clear instructions and illustrations, but I do find it a waste that, being a multi language publication, only 12 pages of a 207 page booklet were in my chosen language! However, what about the product itself? The biggest advantage over my current EW1411 is the compactness and usefulness as a travel item. The functional part of the irrigator pushes down into the water tank when not in use and the nozzle has it's own storage place in the unit; this makes it great to drop into your case when travelling, it also means the water tank is larger. Whilst the EW1411 is possibly more pleasing on the eye and sleeker in design it has a separate base and takes up more room when packing. The DJ40 has two modes normal and soft which is more than adequate. If you want good looks and features buy the EW1411, for practicality and ease of use buy the DJ40, they are both great machines to use.

I brought this a while ago 15/7/24 , only started to use it on the 15/8/24.When I brought it from the Panasonic website , I wanted to get spare nozzles for the irrigator but they didn’t have spares . I waited for about 2 weeks and contacted the customer service to ask about the purchasing spare nozzles and they still didn’t have it in stock. They sent me a email with the spares item number and stockist to purchase from, the stockist also didn’t have them in stock. I managed to find a website that had the nozzle £20.00 .I will check Panasonic website again soon to see if it’s in stock. The irrigator works well, I like that it has different levels of power for the water . It cleans ok , still needed to use regular dental floss after. May be still not used to ... I bought this as a replacement for the flower we previously bought (highly rated) from amazon - a make unknown to us) which failed after 5 months, couldn't be recharged and couldn't be repaired. I went for the special offer on this new Panasonic model having been impressed with the innovation and quality of other Panasonic products I've bought. I like it - it's light, effective and flowers quickly and with a much finer jet of water than the previous flosser. But there are some issues. The two of us can floss daily for 5-6 days before it needs recharging. Thanks to Panasonic supplying the model with just a shaving plug lead, the charging takes a good 17 hours. Many homes, including ours, don't have shaving sockets and so have to buy an adapter. Our previous flosser ... Many homes, including ours, don't have shaving sockets and so have to buy an adapter. Our previous flosser charged via a USB cable, which worked quite effectively. The flosser nozzles feel cheap compared to our previous machine and are *ridiculously* hard to pull off the machine (with the back button pressed) when you've finished - it feels every time like you are going to break something, which I think is pretty unacceptable in a machine of this price. Overall we DO like it and I'm sure it'll be as reliable as Panasonic stuff usually is, but it wouldn't have been hard to have made this so much better. One final gripe: it's a new model and I can't yet register the guarantee because the model number isn't yet recognised. Again, something that should have been sorted before launching this on the market.
Please note that I was given this product by Panasonic to review as part of the Panasonic Reviewer programme. I already had an oral irrigator, so was interested to see how the EW-DJ40 performed in comparison to that one. It comes with a 2-pin (shaver-style) plug, so ia shaver adaptor plug is needed if it is not being charged via a 2-pin shaver socket. The EW-DJ40 is an "all-in-one" unit - as opposed to an irrigator which sits on a separate charging unit. It is very sturdy, not "top-heavy" - does not fall over and because it is an "all-in-one" unit you do not have the potential scenario of knocking it off its charging stand. There is a storage area on the side of the unit for the nozzle head. This makes it easy to carry upon going away/on holiday. Remember to read ... There is a storage area on the side of the unit for the nozzle head. This makes it easy to carry upon going away/on holiday. Remember to read the instructions and open the water supply cap before pulling out the white part of the unit before using the irrigator. If you do not open the water supply cap first you will very probably damage the appliance. Do not panic when pulling out the white part of the unit - just do it gently and gradually. You need to pull the white part out until you feel a 'click'. On first use I decided to use mode 2 (normal mode) - and straight away found the EW-DJ40 is more powerful than my previous irrigator. It immediately dislodged a particularly stubborn piece of food (which my previous irrigator would probably not have done). However mode 2 does mean that you will get about 20 seconds run time before having to refill the water tank - however I do not mind doing this because of the unit's performance. I have tried mode 1, to see what that mode is like in comparison to mode 2, and have found I prefer mode 2. Spare nozzle heads (ref. EW0955) are easily obtainable - for example via Amazon. I have not been able to locate them on the Panasonic shop website but am sure that if I contacted Panasonic they would be able to supply them directly. Overall I highly recommend the EW-DJ40.
I was given this product by Panasonic to review as part of the Panasonic Reviewer programme. For a long time I I had considered if i should get a similar product, but always stopped hitting the buy button as i wasn't sure if it would be just another gimmicky little thing that would get left in a drawer after the novelty wore off, or if it would be an essential part of my daily life like my sonic toothbrush is. So i was pleased when Panasonic offered one for me to review, and it turns out i really think this little bathroom gadget is going to be used a lot. So i was pleased when Panasonic offered one for me to review, and it turns out i really think this little bathroom gadget is going to be used a lot. It comes with a thick manual which initially seems a bit daunting, but it's actually in 17 different languages and the manual is only 13 pages long, and a lot of that is just basic common sense safety instructions. It would have been nice to have a fold out quick start guide. It takes a long time to charge, but lasts longer than i thought it would when fully charged, and putting it on charge overnight is not a problem. When used the first few times expect to get a little messy, not a problem, it's only water. I did wonder if a water jet would be powerful enough to replace dental floss, but it is plenty powerful on the highest setting. It took me a little while to get used to targeting the jet in the right area, and although not painful it's a bit uncomfortable if you hit your gums and not in between your teeth. I have sensitive teeth and for a few seconds after using the irrigator my teeth hurt a little bit, i think using warm water would solve the problem, i think it's just the cold water under pressure. The thing i like about it the least is the sliding on/off button. You slide it up once for the lower setting and slide it again to get the full power setting, it's not difficult to do but i think it would have better with an on/off button type of arrangement. It quicker to use than flossing, i have a couple of overlapping teeth and using the irrigator is much easier than flossing too.
Never used a water flosser before and so glad I have now. I struggle with normal flossing so this was the next best thing for me. It's so easy to put together and instructions are simple to follow. Was using it within minutes. I first tried it on the lowest pressure setting and got used to the sensation in my mouth and then increased it by another two levels. When I did that I found that the water flosser helped to dislodge trapped bits of food that didn't come out on the lower pressure setting. The tank does drain quickly so I did refill it and used it again. My mouth feels much cleaner after using it along side my normal oral care routine. This is the first oral irrigator I've ever owned, previously relying on chewing gum or tooth picks outside of brushing to get things from out of my teeth, or just playing with it with my tongue until my tongue was sore or cut to bits :(Happily I tried the Panasonic irrigator and don't think I'll ever look back. This travel version is really effective at cleaning teeth and gums and with the provided nozzle it's easy to reach anywhere in the mouth. I got this a few weeks ago. I was very excited to use it, but when I got to use it, I was a bit disappointed. When I put it all together, which was very easy to do as the instructions were very clear, that part was fine. Nothing wrong there, but it says you need to put the white tube in your mouth and close it because the water spays out of your mouth and goes everywhere. The only issue with this is that you can’t see where you're going or if you're getting all of the plaque from your teeth. That being said, I also find that I need to floss after using this, as it doesn’t get all of it, but this has good power to it, and the jet is powerful. This is easy to dismantle, and it doesn't take up much room. It comes with a little travel pouch to put it in, so you could fit it in a wash bag. This is waterproof and dishwasher-safe, so it's easy to maintain, keeping it clean and hygienic.
