PanOxyl, Acne Foaming Wash, 10% Benzoyl Peroxide, Maximum Strength, 3 oz (85 g)

I’ve used this Panoxyl Acne Face Wash off and on over the years. I recently just bought it because I’m breaking out really bad all over my whole back and the back of my neck, and sometimes I’ll get a few pimples on my chests or upper arms/shoulders, so I’ll use it for that (I don’t want to use it on my face since I’m already using prescription acne creams and it won’t mix). I thought I’d give it a try since it’s commonly used for body acne. I haven’t been using it regularly to see if it’s made a difference or not, so I can’t attest to that part. I don’t like how it doesn’t suds/foams up at all. It’s just kinda thin and doesn’t stay in your hands and is hard to spread around since it is so thin. Over they years we have spent endless time and $$$ trying to help his skin improve. I am so happy to say we found the holy grail in PanOxyl, while being a bit to harsh for my less oily skin it has worked wonders for his overly oily skin in just a week of use! I have him using a gel or water based moisturizer after to replace some of the moisture it removes plus sunblock as this product can cause skin to be more sensitive to harsh UV rays. It has cleared his adult acne to almost zero in just a week, I can't stress that enough. He is much happier with the results than he ever has and I'm a much happier wife knowing he feels good about his skin (and I can stop hunting for more products)! Woah, Nelly! If you tend to have dry skin but still break out, you may need to have some moisturizer on hand to use after Panoxyl 10% Ance Foaming Wash. It’s not meant to be used to remove makeup and sunscreen, so start out with a nice oil cleanser (or cleansing balm.) Then apply this acne foaming wash and wait at least a few minutes before washing it off. That’s how it attacks potential acne, so don’t immediately wash it off. Thoroughly rinse it off when you’re satisfied that it’s been long enough. Benzoyl peroxide absolutely will bleach every fabric within reach, so that’s why I recommend using it in the shower. If you find the 10% too drying, try the 4% formulation. If you are wondering what to use as a night treatment after using this, try Differin!

I've been using for 2 weeks and I can see lots of improvement. It's not completely clear and some breakouts are still coming out but they are smaller white heads and not much cystic acne anymore (unless i'm on my period). Upon research I've read and heard that it's normal to see results while also still getting some minor break outs in the same area where they usually come out. You're supposed to see your skin clear up and have very little break outs by week 8-10. So I will give it more time and see if this fully clears up my skin. I was trying salycilic acid before this and it was helping but I def saw the real improvement in my skin when I started incorporating this wash in my night routine. It felt immediate too like you can visually see change overnight! My skin is currently dry with acne which makes it very difficult because these acne treatments are all very drying. The wash is supposed to be the gentlest form of benzol peroxide (kills acne causeing bacteria) because you leave on for a couple of minutes and wash off instead of leaving on your face overnight or during the day. If you have sensitive dry skin i def advice introducing this slowly 1-3 times a week and not using a lot of product or irritation will occur. I also wouldn't mix it with a strong salycilic acid or other strong active (i've been using a more gentle SA toner that I can use daily instead of a strong active paired with this) and have seen great results. You don't need the SA you can start with just the benzol peroxide wash and will see better results than with any other active (if you have cystic or inflamed acne. This is my experience). I have not tried a retinoid because of how dry my skin is but honestly I'm so glad I went with this. ITS SOOO AFFORDABLE too and I've been using on my back acne and seeing good results too. If you have oily skin this will be fine with a light moisterizer and spf, if you have dry or sensitive/acne prone def start with the 4% and I reccomend a hydrating serum + moisterizer + spf (in the morning) . Personally, if I don't use a hydrating serum this will leave my skin too dry (even with thick moisterizer) and with a burning sensation. So start slow with little product, only a couple of times a week and make sure you nourish your skin after. I can't wait to see what my skin looks like in a couple of more weeks!

When you first start using it you will likely start breaking out pretty bad because it has active ingredients. After a few weeks of use I was just about ready to throw it out and all of a sudden my skin completely cleared. My skin hasn’t looked this good in decades and it looks so glowy and smooth too. The 10% is very drying so I use a heavier moisturizer and take breaks every few days to avoid over-drying my skin but it’s so so worth it. It also prevents any future breakouts and I know it works because if I skip a day or two and use another cleanser I will get a pimple so consistency is key. I have acne prone skin, and I get hyper pigmentation very easily so this product has saved my skin from so many future blemishes and I’m so happy I found this product. I’ve already used like 5 of these and I’m going to keep using them forever. To use benzoyl peroxide wash, you first need to apply water on the skin and rub some face wash on it (except eyes and sensitive areas), leave it on for at least 3-4min then wash it, so the ingredient has some time to work on the skin. Great face cleanser for acne-prone skin

This is my favorite face wash - I use it every night. It has the highest concentration of benzoyl peroxide that you can get without a presciption, which has helped smooth out my skin quite a bit. It's not a miracle worker - I still get acne sometimes of course, but since using this product I don't get cystic acne nearly as often as before. I will say that the high concentration of benzoyl peroxide is very drying so make sure to use a good moisturizer after you wash your face, and wear spf if you're going outside because it can make your skin more sensitive to UV rays! Also, I have relatively sensitive skin, and as long as I don't put it right under my eyes, it doesn't irritate my skin at all. Overall great product!

You're supposed to leave it on for 1-2 minutes so it can kill off bacteria then you wash it off. It does bleach anything it comes into contact with so I would keep that in mind. I have dry, sensitive, acne prone skin and have bouts of hormonal acne and I havent had an issue with this at all. Just make sure to thouroughly rinse it off or it will irritate your skin.
