When this fragrance is first applied, I can immediately smell the light, soothing floral scents from the Lavender essence. This fragrance then dries down to a seductive scent filled with notes of Moroccan Orange and then finishes with sensuous notes of Musk Accord which is a rich floral scent combined with a long lasting deep musk. This is not your typical floral fragrance. The addition of the citrus and musky notes make this fragrance one of a kind. The bottle also shows the iconic and legendary YSL logo that represents fragrance at its finest. The bottle is truly a work of art in itself. So get ready to 'Wow' in the boardroom or 'Wow' on a hot date with a fragrance that says, "I am here! Take notice!"" It's incredible how a good fragrance can change your mindset completely. Such a strong addition to the YSL line that even with newer products like Y, I'd pick the L'Homme lineup every day and twice on Sunday, and it's all because of this one right here. This is sensual, luscious, luxurious and SO French! BUT make sure you try the EDP (gold cap) becasue the EDT (pink cap) is extremely different, the sweet notes take over and to me it smells like ferret urine (yuck, if you ever came across a ferret you will understand my comparison). This YSL EDP has become almost impossible to find and prices tend to skyrocket. I prefer to hunt ebay and etsy for 7.5 lil splash bottles (that I am sure are original vintage, where the "new" sealed boxes who knows what is inside). This perfume is not for daily use. I have loved this gorgeous eau de parfum for decades. It is a classic, traditional fragrance, unapologetically feminine, a bastion for the embodiment of womanhood. It evoques the formidable, fabulous ladies who like to make their presence known, as obvious as a large bouquet of roses, violets, irides. It is strong, it is rich with life. YSL does not make weak fragrances. If you like to smell like you are carrying around a bag of lemons, this is not for you, this is lovingly girly. I am in my late forties and I have worn this perfume for 30 years, believe me, I am going to wear it for another 50 years, at least. Too weak!

I absolutely love this scent - the smell is divine - but unfortunately over the years the company that took over after Yves St Laurent died put bucks before loyal customers and have been systematically reducing the strength of it. It is now no stronger than toilet water - smells nice when you put it on but half an hour later the scent has gone. It used to linger on my skin and clothes but no more. I stopped buying it a few years ago because of this but thought i’f try again - it’s worse, if anything. Huge waste of money. Am so sad! 😞☹️☹️

I recently signed up for scentbird, and I chose this cologne as my first sample. After reading the reviews on a few websites, I was really excited to get it. Everyone was saying how great it smells, and how they could even see it being unisex Which I was excited for considering I like softer smelling colognes Unfortunately that was not the case at all. I personally think it smells like something an old man would wear. I hate to rag on colognes because everyone has a different opinion on what they like. For me, it was just way too spicy in all the wrong ways. Its definitely a scent that should be worn during the FallWinter months. I will say that if you are a person who does happen to like the smell of this cologne, it is a good quality. I buy a lot of cologne. Ive liked LHomme since I first smelled a sample in a magazine when I was a teenager Im almost 40 now. LHomme is a rich naturalsmelling scent reminiscent of fine wine and wood. Its not overpowering at all. It just smells good and you wont find a more pleasant or sophisticated scent anywhere in my opinion. Back to my Ibuyalotofcologne point. I have quite a collection of cologne that Ive amassed over the years. Im always looking for nice scents but so many times Ill buy something and itll start out nice and turn to headache material. Or itll start out awful and get worse. I have four other YSL colognes. Not a one is close in quality to LHomme. I have about 30 other bottles. Burberry is okay, but has a synthetic overtone. Its cheap compared to some of the highend stuff. You will smell like a gentleman and you wont offend people with this one generally. I think I currently have two or three bottles. Too many people think overpowering is good I cant smell it after an hour. You shouldnt smell your cologne unless youre trying to offend people. If youre looking for that kind of scent, let me know and Ill send you something. Like I said, I have plenty of garbage colognes. If you want to buy a classic scent thats worth more than the bottle costs, get this one.
