A beautifully presented pen, boxed and with a Parker Pen gift bag. Cult pens also threw in a packet of Love Hearts sweets, which was a lovely gesture.My only disappointment was that the pen did not have a pouch.Delivery time was brilliant and in time for my adult sons birthday. Beautiful Writing Instrument

The new Parker 51 Deluxe ballpoint is a beautiful pen. One can tell the quality of materials and craftsmanship is top notch, the Chiseled gold plated cap combines beautifully with the deep black resin. I found the writing experience very pleasant as well due to the medium thickness of the pen. The service from Pen Boutique was just fantastic, the product was delivered within a couple of days. I will certainly do business with them again.

Mediocre pen

I received the Parker 51 ballpoint pen and my overall impression is that it nothing special. It feels loose when the ball point is retracted and the materials are very average. If I didn’t know better, I would guess that it cost less than $10 rather than retailing for over $90.

Much better than expected.

I have used Parker fountain pens, ballpoints and propelling pencils all my life and wanted to try the new generation 51s. Ive started with the ballpoint and it is beautiful to look at and superb to use. A top quality product. Waiting for a good deal on the fountain pen and that will be next!

My go-to

I’ve been writing with a Parker Sonnet since the 1980’s. A couple years ago Pen Boutique offered this “new” 51 and I gave it a try. It’s my new go-to for feel and comfort. I still like my old Sonnet, but this 51 is something very special.

Shipping from Pen Boutique was very fast and the service from them was great. The Parker 51, not so much. The shape of the pen barrel is uncomfortable for me to hold. It seems like the barrel tapers down too much at the point where I grip the pen. The pen is heavy and does not seem to be well balanced in the writing hand for me. Another disappointment with this pen is a very weak clip. I've noticed this can be an issue with Parkers in general, but much more so with the particular 51 I received. The pen will hold in my pocket, but I'm worried the pen will fall out of my shirt pocket, so I'm hesitant to carry it. I have a Matte Black model and it is very comfortable for me to write with. The Sonnet is also a heavy pen, but it is very well balanced and comfortable to write with. The clip on the Sonnet is much more secure than the 51, so I don't hesitate to have in with me in my shirt pocket. For me, the Sonnet is a much better choice. It is much better balanced and is much more comfortable to write with.But whatever your choice, you cannot go wrong with Pen Boutique. They have excellent service, prompt shipping, and they are my first choice when shopping for fine writing instruments.

Parker 51 Next Generation Ballpoint Pen Review

I have large hands and tried the Parker Jotter XL. This pen is good but the balance is a little off. My next purchase was this one and the balance and feel in the hand is much better. Even though the price of the 51 is more, it's worth the extra money. I also like the retro look. I recommend this.

Pretty pen but not too functional.

The pen is beautiful but does not write smoothly (for me as a left hander) and if you don't use it for a day the ink does not flow. Cheaper pens have worked much better for me. This may be a case of style over substance.

Review of Parker 51 Teal Blue Ballpoint Pen

The pen looks premium, and I've already had lots of compliments about it! Its twist mechanism means I don't risk losing my lid or breaking it.The only gripe I have is that I'd like the shaft of the pen to be metal as well, as the plastic feel of it feels a bit cheap.I exchanged the ballpoint refill for a gel one which I prefer. Works a dream.Would recommend!
