Pass The Pigs - Giant Inflatable Edition

Fun, nostalgic, small and simple game. Easy to take with you, doesn't require much space or time to set it up. (The pigs are pretty easy to lose, though, so gotta be careful!) Pass the Pigs is kind of like yahtzee, but instead of dice you (surprisingly to no-one) throw these 2 ADORABLE little pigs to make different combos with to score points. Can be played on 1 vs 1 or with a slightly bigger group (preferrably up to 4). Suitable for players of all ages, although younger players might need some help with calculating the points.

A friend introduced me to this game and I love it. I bought a different set of pigs before, but they were so bouncy, that it was nearly impossible to get them to stand on their snout or pretty much any other way besides on their side. However, these piggies in the set are great. My kids and I had a great time playing this game. It's easy to learn and as a side bonus, we learned some math on the side (adding up the points). Besides, it's simply fun to sit around a table and throw pigs :D

As longtime lovers of the original Pass The Pigs, we were excited to try this new version and especially to have MORE PIGS!! Lol The new game play was just okay. At least with multiple pigs and cards we could change up the rules as we wanted. UNFORTUNATELY, the big travesty of this new version is the pigs. They are not made from the same material as the original and are no where near the same quality. Anyone who has played Pass The Pigs knows how important it is that the pigs bounce. They need to flip and turn and land on their ear. They need to be made of soft, bouncy rubber. These new pigs feel almost more like a semi-soft (hard) plastic. They hardly have any bounce. After an hour of game play with all four pigs pairs, no one could even roll a leaning jowler! Fun game

This was purchased as a Christmas gift for a 9 year old however I have played this game with family for many hilarious hours in the past. Consists of 2 little pigs which you effectively use as dice. The position of the pigs on 'landing' determines the score and the winner is the first to 100 points. Score pad included. The 'tin' packaging is much sturdier than the original box of years ago thus keeping the contents safe. This gift met with strong approval. It's suitable for mixed age groups although beware small pieces with young children. Can get quite competitive and addictive. Needless to say it is definitely appropriate for family fun.

Fun without the dice!

It's a present for Christmas. But my brother had this game when we were younger. Same style as yahtzee game but with pigs, much more Fun! And I love the colours! A game for the whole family, even grandparents. I know we'll be playing it everywhere we go!

Kids had a great time playing with the pigs separately and as the game Pass the pigs. Flat surface and no wind necessary to avoid arguments. More playable than you would credit from a novelty version. Great gift idea.

I absolutely LOVE this game. I've been wanting to find a fun game for everyone in my family to play including my 5 year old. Who would've though a couple of pigs could bring so much fun into our home. My father in law is kind of a grump and I brought this over and now he is literally obsessed with these pigs and calls me everyday and tells me to bring them over. My family wants to have a game night once a week and play pass the pig because they not only loved the game but loved how it was a fun way to bring the family together. Plus it's a good way to teach my little one basic math. I love PASS THE PIG! Only complaint would be I wish there was a paper with all of the different positions on it like in the original game rather than the cards. If you've never played ... MoreI absolutely LOVE this game. I have had this game for years (see my review underPass the Pigs game.) But the pigs get worn out from use. Their little feet and tails are the first to show signs of wear, therefore they fall over instead of landing in their "trotter" or "razorback" positions. So I usually have bought entire new games to get new pigs. NOW!!!! I can buy a whole set of extras. And they come in AWESOME new colors!!! I am using the black ones right now. Midnight pigs. ha ha!! The case is nice, but I usually just stick them in a little baggie or an oldAltoids Small tin, which holds them safely and fits MUCH easier into my school bag or purse. We usually just modify the game and roll only once per person, we don't need follow the written "rules" all the time! For school, again, one roll per person. And if they are not good at math (as some younger kids aren't) I use a scoresheet where they just color in as many squares as their roll is worth. So if they roll a "trotter", they color in 5 squares. I have even used this with special needs kids and it is much less frustrating than adding. I will TRY to attach a picture of my score sheet with customer images above, but right now it isn't letting me. I will edit when I get it up there. It is basically a paper with a 10 x 10 grid of squares I made on the computer. I put four grids on one sheet, which is 4 complete games. The first person who gets to 100 wins. Of course, older kids or those who NEED math practice get extra calculation practice by adding. sometimes I even make every 5th roll a multiple (like "this roll for everyone is worth 3x what is usually is!!!) Simple! For school, I make my small group of students answer a question before they get their roll. It makes the sometimes boring drill and practice of things MUCH more fun and fast-paced. There isn't ONE student who ever didn't want to roll the pigs!! They even request this game in lieu of history bingo or something. It really is one of my favorite games. I was very inspired by another reviewer on here, a teacher, who had purchased this set for the extra pigs for her classroom. I followed all her ideas, making copies of scoresheets and hundreds charts for the slower math learners, and gifted the extra pigs, pig position sheet and scoresheets to my 1st grader's classroom for the "done early" bucket. We love PTP at home around the dinner table, and we accidentally found out it is a FABULOUS way to get kids doing math in their heads. To hear your 7 year old adding 20 +1 +1 + 15 = 37 then next roll he knows +10 then =15+ 5 puts him at 67, that is successful mental math! He just thinks he is loving Pass The Pigs, but I see what it is doing. This simple game is very engaging, and such fun for all ages.

Its such fun and easy to play. The cute little pigs, with their pretty pink noses and feet, can fall in so many different combinations it keeps you motivated and interested. Theres more chances of getting points than loosing points, though. But during your turn, when youve gained some points, you just have to decide whether to keep your points or risk loosing them with your next throw! So, its very exciting and entertaining for all ages, actually.
