Passwell Small Breeding Birds Balanced Nutrition Crumbles 20kg
Passwell Crumbles provide a complete and balanced diet for small birds. Crumbles can be used as a nutritious replacement for dry seed. Passwell Crumbles are suitable for small parrots (cockatiels, budgies, lovebirds, etc), canaries, finches, quails, and doves. Providing crumbles can improve nutrition by replacing dry seeds with other nutritious produce. Crumbles improve bird health by increasing the amount of essential amino acids, vitamins, and minerals in their diet. The crumbles are low in fat and 100% edible, so there won’t be any seed hulls or leftovers dropped on the ground. Ideal for indoor caged birds, as Crumbles produce substantially less mess. Directions Feed as a dry crumble, replacing the seed proportion of the bird’s diet: Birds that are accustomed to eating seed need to modify their feeding technique to eat Crumbles: Initially they will disintegrate the food, but they should soon learn to totally consume the Crumbles and even eat any powder produced during feeding. Avoid changing the diet on days that are either very hot or very cold, or during times of stress on the bird. Observe the birds regularly to ensure they are eating the Crumbles. Don’t over-fill the feed bowl, as birds will tend to scatter the Crumbles in search of their normal food Have at most two layers of Crumbles in the feed bowl. Changing to Crumbles Direct Change to Crumbles: Applies to cockatiels, companion parrots, quail and doves. Remove all seed and treats and provide only Crumbles. Observe the birds closely. If the birds do not eat during the day then provide some seed before nightfall and try again the next day. If this is not successful try “Introducing Crumbles” Introducing Crumbles: For budgies, canaries, finches and smaller birds. Start with a 50:50 mix of Crumbles and seed. Over the next few days, slowly increase the proportion of Crumbles. Remove all the seed once the birds begin to eat the Crumbles. For very small birds such as finches and canaries Crumbles may be slightly ground down to produce a finer grade feed.

It took around a month (& a fair bit of patience) to transition my adult parakeets from bird seed to Crumbles, but after researching the nutritional merits of each plus minimised wastage (from birds kicking the seed out of the bowl) it has been worth it. Plus only a small serve is needed each day. Wombaroo (Passwells) in SA was very helpful with advice in the transition phase.

Such a healthier option for your bird! Any bird owner should know that pellets and crumbles are WAY healthier than seed for your bird. These crumbles are for budgies, cockatiels, conures, lovebirds, doves, quail, finches and canaries. Any small pet bird basically! My young budgie (he is now 4 and 1/2 months turning 5 months) was on seed when I got him at 8 weeks - which was alright by the way, since he was young. Around when he was 3 months or even younger, I bought Passwell Crumbles from my local pet shop after educating myself on the importance of having birds not on seed. I laid a few crumbles on a plate and he took to then straight away! Eating every single one as if it was a seed, lol! And then I slowly put more and more in his food bowl. Today he absolutely ... Today he absolutely LOVES his crumbles! Each box comes with a scoop of how much your bird should eat each day and helpful information on the back. He loves them so much and does very healthy poops haha! Its a great substitute for seeds, as your bird actually likes them and doesn't do that stereotypical "I hate pellets!". However! My bird eats the crumbles but then leaves a fine dust. The whole thing will fill up with fine dust in a matter of a few days - so you can actually end up wasting a bit more than you planned. But, since it is a high quality product in itself, 5 stars from me and Astro! Remember to feed your bird plenty veggies and seed is a treat!

I sceptically bought this , for a change for my cockatiels, the ingredients were all above board and having not a lot of fat content which was important as my rescue cockatiel had had his wings cut so badly that he couldn’t do to much exercise/ flying - so I mixed it in his food and they both took to it straight away! Good trusted choice.🥰

Our birds have loved these Passwell Bird Crumbles for years so we get the bigger boxes now to keep them happy. The older bird in particular loves them as he is a bit arthritic in his jaw(?). The young bird also gobbles them up! They smell good & come with a wee scoop.
When I moved rural I found it hard to find this product for my Quaker who doesn't like change but now with Pet Circle I can get it when I need it and at a great price too!!
Put some crumble in a bowl for my finches and they loved it just as much as the seed. Just keep topping up the bowl and let them eat what they need. Had trouble with the cockatiels switching them from seed to pellets but they took to the crumble within a week.
I've been unhappy with product quality and postage. In fact I was never going to shop here again. However I ordered the crumble and to be perfectly honest I'm not even sure my cockatiel Klink actually eats it. But it was super cheap and I got free postage due to the total amount I spent. Plus the customer was very good....
This is the only product that my fussy Cockatiel will eat. New to birds only 2 years ago I tested many things. It is reasonably easy to convert birds over from seed using this product. I have done this twice successfully with two very different birds, both over 8 months old. The crumbles are much easier for the birds to tackle, rather than larger pellets and they seem to like them. More expensive brands recommended to me have just been wasted - as my birds wont touch them.
I was hoping the Lorrikeets will eat these Crumbles, as there are no waste ( as per your promo). But they just won’t touch it ! Ended up wasting my money instead. I don’t recommend it.
I love that this is an Australian product, my Quaker loves them, there is very little waste, as part of a balanced diet this provides trace nutrients and vitamins he needs to be happy and healthy
