It works fine and it’s well-constructed. The capacity is massive. Great if you’re traveling abroad and need to bring extra medications, small first aid kit, etc. It could really benefit from subdividing one of the large compartments or just adding a couple of small zip pouches so that smaller and/or heavier items like nail clippers and tweezers are easier to secure and then locate. As much as I do like this thing it drives me mad how often I’m fishing through to find things or picking items up off the floor.

I purchased a 3L, 6L, and 10L Black Hole Cube for organizing my life when I am traveling as a guide. They are excellent except to carry everything from receipts to wallets to biking tools. They are well built and make packing smaller items into my larger bags a cinch. I have one small complaint. The zipper pulls all hang out on the exterior of the bags and on casual glance it is confusing which pull cord opens the outside zipper and which are for the inside zippers. The pull cords are all the same color. I think it would be a tiny but useful tweak to distinguish which is which by using different colors, say black for the outer zipper and red or yellow for the interior divider ones.

I purchased the large cube before buying this one and really liked it which prompted me to buy a slightly smaller one as a set. This case is still a bit big but is as good in quality as my large cube. I like the navy blue colour and it fits well with my black cube. The one thing that I wonder about is the breathability of the cube because it has a coating on the outside. Time will tell but at least there is mesh in the inside so if you want your clothes to breathe then you can open it up. Zippers are so great on the cubes because you can pull on the fabric and it opens smoothly. Highly recommended.

I've been looking for a toiletry bag for so long I just didn't know patagonia made these like black hole cubes! I love it. This one is perfect it is not too small or too big and it fits everything I need. I have been doing a lot of roadtrips lately and I always ended up bringing stuff in many separate containers. This one is perfect as it holds everything I need. I also love the colors.
After purchasing one of the large Black Hole duffel bags several years ago, I have grown to love this series. I now own a large duffel bag, an airplane carry-on sized duffel bag, and now the medium-sized cube which I purchased as a toiletry/shaving bag. The medium size swallows a lot of stuff, helps with organization thanks to its two compartments, is very durable, and looks great. Another fantastic piece for my travel collection!
This small wonder is amazing in what it does for efficiently packing goods in a backpack, day bag, or for travel. The outer layer is really tough, has attachment points (daisy chain) to attach to the outside of a bag or just grab hold of, and is subdivided on the inside for better organization. The bag opens like a clam shell leaving plenty of room to get organized and stay organized. I have used the two sides to pack rain wear on one side and extra water booties on the other, packed a full weekends worth of tee shirts and under clothes and used it a time or two for sorting dirty vs clean. With durable zippers you can pack this little guy totally full and still feel secure in the closure compressing all of your goodies. Love the bright colors that help me to figure ... MoreThis small wonder is amazing in what it does for efficiently packing goods in a backpack, day bag, or for travel. I bought this bag at REI and it is functional if you are not trying to use it for carrying high profile backpacking or backcountry ski boots inside. I wear a women's 11 (US sizing) boot and my goal in purchasing this cube was to carry those boots inside it. The 10 L (large) cube is too small. It will just barely, with lots of effort zip closed with my hefty boots. Because of the difficulty I had getting the boots inside, I decided the bag will not last for this purpose due to its size. Please make a 16 Liter cube with this shape...that would be just perfect for this purpose. Thank you for considering this request.
This is a great little toiletry bag if you travel with travel bottles only. However, it is smaller than I thought, and it would have been great to see some additional photos instead of just one of the outside. The size up from this is a better match for larger toiletries. This one fits about 3 small-medium sized bottles and nothing else. Great for shorter trips!
As a long time Patagonia packing cube user, I don't like to write this review. That said, somebody needs to call them out for downgrading their interior zippers to lesser ones (the main outer ones appear to be OK). I have 4x large ones, 2x medium ones, and have been using them for many years. Just for context, I'm a digital nomad, so use these very regularly and have become dependent upon them working properly so that I can live out of my suitcase. Two of the older ones had some stitching issues (not a problem, easy to repair), so I took them back in store to get fixed. They were gracious enough to replace them (and hopefully sell the soon-to-be-repaired versions on Worn Wear) and send me home with 2 new ones. Now I'm in the process of packing up for another 6 month ... MoreAs a long time Patagonia packing cube user, I don't like to write this review. They were gracious enough to replace them (and hopefully sell the soon-to-be-repaired versions on Worn Wear) and send me home with 2 new ones. Now I'm in the process of packing up for another 6 month trip and as I'm barely synching the new ones down, the inner zipper is popping open. Something that has NEVER happened on the older versions and one of the reasons I have recommended these to everyone asking despite the very high cost. I thought the quality justified the price. Literally not even as tight as I'd normally zip it up and the zipper popped open. I've been able to backtrack over it and rezip it, but given that I leave tomorrow, this is a very concerning and ominous sign. Visually the new inner zippers are smaller than the older ones and do look more flimsy. Come on Patagonia, if you're charging $50+ for a packing cube, don't skimp on another $0.20 for a better zipper. Nothing I can do at this point, just cross my fingers and hope they last the journey.
I am very happy with my Black Hole 6L Cube. It has enough room for my needs and works really well. As usual it is nicely made and the zips are perfect. I also bought the 3L before the 6L and that one is suitable for my smaller items. Classy and serves my purposes very well. Obviously they are not made for putting a load of things in, only the necessary smaller items. I did manage to get two t-shirts and hiking socks in the 6L and I am sure I could get one shirt in if I cut out one tee. Love you Patagonia and your customer service, and I very highly recommend the 6L and the 3L Black Hole. I am waiting for the Classic Navy ones to come to Australia as I have two Classic Navy backpacks. Also have an Altvia 36L backpack.Lorraine A. Graham, Sunbury 3429.
