This hat is a fishermans roll. Meant to fit snug on the head. Im super happy with this hat. Could it be warmer? Maybe yes. Is it still awesome? Definitely yes. Its meant to be snug. A lot of reviews complain about the size. Understand what youre buying. If you want a typical beanie, look at the brodeo. If you want to look like the cast if Life Aquatic and be awesome, get this hat. I would recommend it to anyone. Wearing it while I write this review, and I couldnt be happier about. Buy this hat!

The Fishermans Rolled Beanie is the best I have found thus far. The weave allows for plenty of stretch so the fit isnt tight like the Brodeo and it doesnt itch! Also, there is no limit to how much you can roll up the sides so lots of style options. Just got the Wax Red. It is such a great color on and is a great accent piece.

I like this beanie a lot! Aside from it looking amazing it also is incredibly comfortable. After breaking it in at work for a couple of days, it feels awesome, keeps my head warm and I barely even notice Im wearing it. Definitely not a beanie for very cold conditions, but good for everyday use in cold conditions and warmer.

I recently bought the fisherman hat. I was very proud of it and actually I love Patagonia and all the attention that you guy have for the environment. The problem is every time I wear it, when I then undress it, it leaves noticeable stripes on the skin of my head. Its very embarrassing and I will probably have to wear an other hat under it to not have signs. This is very disappointing and unfortunately I will not recommend this product to other people and I will write a similar review everywhere I will be able to. Sorry again guys, I really like you, but you did really mess up with this hat :(
This is a gift for a friend. I bought this exact beanie last fall and wore it in the city almost every day last winter. I also wore it during the almost 3 weeks in September when I was hiking in the Rockies - I wore it every night and most mornings due to the cold. Extremely well constructed as it kept its shape with absolutely no issues during each of those times. I have been wearing it all this late fall and it still looks like new.
I wear a beanie almost everyday in the fall and winter and this has become one of my go-to's. I prefer to roll the beanie an extra time to give it the classic fishermans look above the ears. To get this look the beanie does need to be stretched out a bit. I have a small head and it started snug but after wearing it more it fits great! Would love to see this one in orange again.
I have a small head so it’s normally hard for me to find hats that actually fit and don’t fall down over my eyes or look obnoxiously tall. This one actually fits and snugly at that! I was beyond surprised. Also something to be aware of if you have a larger head - you may find this style too tight! I bought the gold color.
Love this hat and have it in a few colors. I appreciate that it doesnt have a giant Patagonia logo on it like some of the other hats do. It is comfortable, warmish, and the cabin gold color is gorgeous. These are great hats to compliment shoes/socks for those who think about those things.
Bought this and was really happy with the look and material. Seems to be good quality, but I cant speak to how long it lasts as I had to return it. For anyone with an even slightly larger head this will most likely not fit. It felt much too snug and wouldnt cover my ears if even if I pulled it down all the way. Im bummed it doesnt come in a larger size.
Seriously, The best beanie I've ever owned. I've worn it everyday I've needed to for the last 3 years. Living in Denver, that's a lot of days. I wear it hiking, snowboarding, camping, out and about, really anywhere. It's only needed to be washed a handful of times, doesn't pill, doesn't smell, and keeps its shape. I want to buy a few more just to keep incase they ever discontinue this beanie.
