Beautiful But Fragile

I love the pattern of this belt but it has a number of serious issues. The first of which is that it is quite small. It measures several inches shorter than advertised and was somewhat tight for me (men's size 34). Loose threads also began to develop over across the length of the belt and the tip began to split after around a week of moderate use. I wanted to love this belt but it was not up to the usual Patagonia standards.

Design flaw

While the materials chosen are top notch and seem to be built for longevity the stiffness of the belt material where it circles back on itself to make the loop at the buckle doesn't allow for the tail end, or working end of the belt to make its way through the buckle. Not sure if a smaller loop would take less room. I have other belts using this design but with softer webbing. I ordered online thinking this belt would be similar. I will have to wait until I get to a store to return as the cost of return shipping is prohibitive. First design flaw that I have run into from Patagonia. Pretty good in the law of averages...

Great simple belt

This belt fit the need. It is a simple, functional belt with the style I was after - less formal, more functional. The buckle and webbing are great, easy to use and hold well. With shipping it is kind of pricey. Otherwise a great belt that I hope lasts forever!!

Great, slim belt!
28 July 2022

This belt is very slim which is especially great in the summer when wearing slim t-shirts. The buckle doesn't stick out and the belt is light. It doesn't loosen by itself for me, sometimes it's a little difficult to loosen. I have a 30" waist and it is a good length. Overall, I would recommend you add this belt to your wardrobe.

Please make a larger size!
21 September 2022

Dear Patagonia, Please make a larger size of this belt! You say it fits "ALL," but this is absolutely false. So many regular humans, including active and outdoorsy ones, need a longer belt than this. I really want this belt but I need it to have a few more inches. It's bad enough to not be able to get a belt from you, but it's pretty outrageous to say it supposedly fits all people. Thanks for your consideration.

Slightly annoyed
11 September 2022

I have had two of these belts for nearly 30 years and have loved their simplicity, versatility, and non-slip grip, but have recently begun to lose that grip (Im ok with that after 30 years!)So I bought a new one recently and loved it immediately for all the reasons. However after less than one week the end began to fray. I was able to fix by cutting the frayed part off and melting the new end. Kind of annoying and a little disappointing after being so satisfied for so long with the older belts. I hope my DIY fix works, otherwise Ill come back and change my rating to 1 star.

Solid color belts slip & woven patterned ones can unravel
24 April 2021

I bought two of these belts: one in forge grey and one in a patterned weave. The forge grey is thinner webbing and slips, so I'm returning it. The patterned weave is thicker and doesn't slip at all, but the cut end wasn't finished (or heat sealed) properly and starts to unravel periodically. I've tried to heat seal it but this issue is endemic to the patterned weave due to its construction.I have an older solid color friction belt from the circa 2000 which I love and it's still going strong, except for some minor fraying due to the buckle & some paint splatter.Patagonia needs to change the thickness of the solid color webbing on these belts and needs to address quality control/finishing issues on the woven patterned ones. Otherwise, I'm a big fan of the friction belt!

These Are So Handy I Have Several of Them
18 April 2023

I keep these on various pairs of pants that I wear from ski pants to casual pants. Over the years I've ended up with several of them because they are simple and reliable. The buckle is compact and does not bind at the waist. One of mine is close to 25 years old and it's still working.

Very nice lighter weight belt.
1 October 2021

Very nice belts when you don't want something as heavy as the tech web belt. Great with lightweight nylon or poly pants and shorts in the summer. However, they will be too short if you wear larger than 36 pants. I wear 35 or 36 pants and I find them to be the perfect length without trimming. I have had absolutely no problems with the belts loosening or slipping. Got two of them.

it is a belt!
8 September 2022

I hate wearing belts, but this one is comfortable! I had to trim the belt and melt the edges so they wouldn't fray because the one size fits all sizing on this belt meant that it had really long flappy straps when I used it with high waisted shorts. It'd be neat to see it offered in two lengths!! The lost star is because before I trimmed the belt, it began snagging and catching and fraying on the end because it was so long.
