First off, sizing is perfect. I wear a 33 waist, which can be hard to find and I often have to battle with whether I should go 32 or 34, but these fit perfect. The length is a bit above my knees, which is what I wanted. These are labeled slim fit but I do not know what that is supposed to mean because they are very baggy. I do not have twig legs, and I do not mind that they are baggy (helps with range of motion), it was just not what I expected from slim fit shorts.The fabric is not very stretchy considering it is 13% spandex. The fabric has a very tight weave and it doesnt give a whole lot in any direction.Overall I love these shorts and they are now my favorite pair. I have never spent so much for one pair of shorts but these were worth it.

I've owned 3-4 pairs of the previous version (Stretch Wavefarer Walk Shorts?) and absolutely loved them. Best shorts on the market. Ordered two pairs of these new versions from another online retailer, and they are generally just as good. Great for everything from dinners out with a polo shirt to hiking to swimming. BUT...why in the world Patagonia got rid of the internal drawstring is perplexing. Essentially requires the use of a nylon belt now for anything less than super casual, around-the-house wear, and can no longer easily use these as swim trunks. Big disappointment. I guess I'll keep these two new pairs, but definitely a downgrade from the previous version.

Good fitting in the legs - if you got some tree trunks on you, they look good. Maybe too tight for some.Surprised the waist does not stretch - I have other patagonia shorts and was surprised the waist does not stretch. While 34 is my waist size, it would be nice when I bent down to grab another beer that the shorts were a bit forgiving ;).Did also feel a bit tight around the nether regions. Had to find the best spot to where them on my hips to make sure everything is good down there.Overall, good looking, good colors, stretch in the waist would be a game changer.

I purchased two or three pairs last year. The color of shorts I purchased this winter was out of stock when I bought my shorts last year. This makes it 3 or 4 pairs of these I now own. These are the best shorts I own. Why? Featherweight, breathable, and wearable for most warm-weather occasions, from lounging at home to hiking and all things in between. Fantastic product, thank you.

I've spent a lot of time travelling through Southeast Asia with a minimal wardrobe, and this style of short is extremely comfortable, cooling, and versatile.The stretchiness is good for many activities for all day. The fact you can also swim in them is a huge bonus. They are lightweight and don't take up much space in a bag.I've worn this style of short from Patagonia for many years. I prefer a snug fit with enough play in the fabric to not pinch if the situation calls for action.The waist fit firm but not overly tight. I could wear with or without a belt. tldr; Buy them, they are great. wash and dry with no change in size.- They are a light material so nice on hot days.- I'll be wearing these shorts for everything: swimming, windsurfing, walking, golfing, sitting around, working, you name it.- I got these over board shorts because I don't have time to change when i take my kids to the beach, and I want pockets.
Absolutely great pair of shorts for casual wear. Technically a board short so you can go into the water with them but I strictly use them for casual wear in hot and humid weather. Shorts are very light, thin, and soft so it feels great even when it's hot outside. Also great for when you spill liquids or sauces on yourself, easier to wipe off than other shorts even though it won't be 100% stain free.
I was gifted these for a trip to Europe this summer (thanks mom) and I am sure glad i had them with me. They are some of the most comfortable shorts I have ever worn. They had a lightweight, stretchy and breathable fabric that performed excellently walking around town and causally biking in hot weather. The pockets are generously sized and hold gear without dropping the shorts off the waistline. I did not take these in the water yet but I am sure they would work well based on the material. These shorts can definitely be dressed up as well for business casual events. Big score Patagonia! Thanks for being so creative and boundary pushing.
I purchased these shorts as I needed a pair of tan shorts I can wear on an everyday basis. These shorts are good so far, had them for a few weeks. I like the very light fabric that keeps me cool in the hot summer. These shorts seem to run a bit big. They have a loop, for keys?, that is in the rear pocket. Sometimes this look gets in the way when taking out my wallet and hangs out. Overall solid shorts that I would buy again.
