This was my first Patagonia purchase online. I purchased a fleece 1/4 zip pullover for my son and another one for my husband. I was concerned that the fleece material may be very thin. It was not. I was also concerned that the pullovers may be too short. My husband and son are both over 6 ft tall. They fit perfect. Very happy with my purchase.

I am 6'0" and 160 lbs. and seem to be in between sizes. I first bought the Large because it is typically what I wear. They were too big in the shoulders, sleeves were too long and the waist loose fitting. I switched to medium and got a much better fit. In a perfect world, I would make the sleeve circumference slightly bigger and the sleeve a 1/2 inch shorter, but its really not an issue. I also prefer the old style engraved logo to the current sew on but i'll stop whining now. The piece itself is great. Comfy, great fleece material and perfect for my uses. Good looking, a bit of warmth, packable and versatile. Recommend!

The best fleece company today is in New Zealand and it rhymes with Wazi. I usually prefer their designs to anything else, because fleece doesn't always have the same features we are used to with other fabrics, where it is super body fitting, stretchy, and doesn't attract cat hairs like a magnet. Polartec is the best fabric maker, or Marton Mills when Patagonia worked with them back in the day.The problem with my favorite fleece company is they have 100 gsm microfleece, 200 gsm microfleece, 280 polar fleece and a 300 something polar fleece. Their designs with polar fleece are great, but they don't make anything I love with their 200 gsm microfleece, hence why I am here.Couple points:*The arms are good, albeit a little tight in width. My favorite fleece company does a really good job of this. Hips are bigger than the waist, and when you reach your arms up and the garment has no inclination to fall back down on its own, it is frustrating to pull it down especially when you have an outer jacket helping lift the midlayer up. I guess it looks good if you are trying to fit in with people, but don't like these designs that just end up fighting your hips all day as they and the jacket work together to help them ride up.My conclusion to this garment is I feel like it was made with fashion in mind as well as function. My biggest problem with Patagonia with the fleece department is they are too often tinkering with the material each year, that you get bad years with it, where it is no better than a Wal-Mart fleece with hairs flaking off. This year is fine thus far for this garment.I also just dislike the bottom cutoffs for many of Patagonia's fleeces including this one. The synchilla's bottom elastic, for example, is an awful design unless you are trying to keep ticks out from winter.

OK, so call it "Old School" or "Retro" (and maybe I don't look like the guy modelling it, as my wife lovingly pointed out) but this style of fleece has been my Go-To since I did actually look like that guy. This Fleece was available for years from all my favourite Brands in every weight under the sun until one day I woke up and they were all gone; nowhere to be found. I have been searching for a replacement ever since. It couldn't be just any fleece - it had to look great; feel great, and most importantly, perform. I think I may have finally found it. Time will tell but Patagonia do not often disappoint! My only criticism is I would always buy a Large in the past. I had to go X-L this time which unfortunately has nothing to do with the cut or sizing. I have been wearing Micro D 1/4 zip for 20 years and it is absolutely my favorite shirt. It is the softest most versatile piece I own. My wife made me get this last Micro D because I wore my other one so much I never washed it! I love to put it on first thing in the morning just kicking around the house, great for brisk Spring trail run, and last night layered it up with Nano Puff at MLS game. Only thing wrong is I wish they would bring back the green!

I purchased a large which fits me perfectly - not too snug, not too tight with great sleeve length (6? 2? tall, 46? chest, 35? sleeve, 17? neck, 35? waist, 210 lbs). High quality fleece with minimal pilling. The fabric is aging nicely. Just the right thickness to take the edge off chilly evenings at the boat (55 degrees). Perfect for layering without unnecessary bulk. Makes a great top to sleep in during chilly nights - the fabric is very soft, not constrictive. Bought a navy color - liked it so much that I bought a grey one. Usual great Patagonia quality. Comfortable, warm and worth the cost. I purchased a Large based on a 42" chest but found it way too long in the sleeve and length. Exchanged it for a Medium and while better in length, its still a bit long (both sleeves and waist). Might be me but I find that all Patagonia apparel runs a bit long and tight unless I size up, then swim in way too much fabric. That said, love the products and corporate governance.
The Micro-D pull over came in handy for a recent trip to the Great Lakes region. Being on a cruise ship there were mornings with temperatures in mid 50's even in July! Easy to layer up with the Micro-D pull over. Also cool winds were stiff at certain points during travel and again could layer up and stay warm! As temps warmed up it was still comfortable to wear until too warm and you layered down.Very versatile!
This patagonia micro d fleece is on the pricier side if you compare it to other brands but it is totally worth it. The micro d material is very high quality and it keeps you very warmth. You can easily wear it under a puffer jacket and it's will keep you warm up to -10. You can also wear it by itself during the spring or fall season. I highly recommend and I would totally purchase another one. The fit is good. I'm typically a xs to small and I ordered small - it fits me like a glove.
You almost need two versions of a size large. Your model must be tall and lean. I am stockier with 44" chest, 36" waist, and 5'8" tall. If I buy a medium, the chest and armpits are too tight.Both profiles can be athletic climbers and skiers. I understand there is a cost issue with making two versions of the same garment, but maybe you can figure out how to accommodate both physiques.
