The nano puff vest has become a staple piece of shoulder season running gear for me. All in all, theres little to nothing I would change about it that wouldnt be hyper specific to running. The only general design aspect I believe could be improved upon is how the collar lays in the zipper area. I also frequently wear the down sweater, which is stitched in such a way that the collar wants to flare open as its unzipped. I believe something like this would greatly benefit the overall user experience of the already great nano puff vest, as Ive found the collar wants to collapse in under the chin and into the throat area of the user. That being said, the piece as a whole performs wonderfully, and I look forward to putting many more miles on it.

I have many vests, and this is the best. I've literally worn the same unit XC skiing over a R1 at 20F, and in a board room. There is simply no more versatile vest. Patagonia's warranty is truly hardcore - they have repaired numerous pieces for me, usually with a very quick turnaround speed. I've never gotten a piece of gear to the "replace" phase of life - which is really saying something, as I live in Alaska and use stuff HARD. Get one! Or even better, get two!

The product itself is fine, even nice, but the sizing is whack. I know I am not a small guy and ordered a XXL, which usually fits me with even some room to spare. On this vest, I couldn't even zipper up the vest. Not sure what Patagonia gets out of creating "it runs small" clothing, but I certainly felt bad after trying this on, not what you want your customer to experience. Ironically, when I went in store to see if the XXXL was a better fit for an exchange, it was so big that I felt I could have another person in the vest with me! I ended up returning this and buying the REI version, which I am very pleased with.

I love this vest, I have wanted one for quite some time. I got it to layer under shirts and jackets for every day wear, summer hiking and fly fishing in the cooler months. I am normally an L (long) at Patagonia (and other manufacturers), but the waste could probably use another inch to be perfect (for me). It is a little snug but just around the bottom (part of that could be me, but still L is normally my size..). I am going to stick with it, (it reminds me to slim down a little), as an XL would be to big for me. Other than that, it is everything I wanted it to be. Thanks!
My husband loved the vest. Always has. However, the shipping package was not good at all. I messaged Patagonia and told them and received a response. My perception of the tone from the response was defensive and I didn’t appreciate it. The package was a brown thick envelope style with no indication of a zip opening at all. So naturally I slit the top with scissors. To my surprise, the vest was at the very top 🔝 f the envelope!! No plastic protection, nothing to protect it. I could have easily damaged the $200 plus vest! The response I received said all packages that small are in a bag like this WITH A ZIP OPENING. No! It does not have any indication to open. Very dissatisfied with the defensive attitude. But love the vest!
Bought my husband a Nano Air Jacket about 15 years ago. He still wears it regularly, he loves it! Went back for this vest, and we were so happy to find it. He prefers the Nano Air without all of the vertical stitching and the shiny finish. This one was not perfect, but worked out for him. I also bought him 3 new Nano Air jackets, 2 black and one green so he has some variety! I wear the Nano Air jacket and vest as well, and I love them. I wish that the jackets were LONGER for women, I sized up for length. The warmth of the patagonia jackets without all the bulk is our favorite feature!
I've worn down 2 of these over the years and own several of the jackets. Truly one of my favorite products- lightweight, warm, durable, stylish and above all, functional for a variety of activities...My only complaint is the fit of the last couple of Nano products I've purchased. They seem to be running a little smaller than my original purchases which has caused me to move from smalls to mediums and, no, my body has not really changed in the time since I started wearing them! My older jackets, all smalls, will struggle a bit to layer the mediums under them.Still, a great product.
I trust both REI and Patagonia, so I felt comfortable buying this online without first seeing it. I have a Patagonia nano puff jacket for winter wear, but the vest is better suited for the transitional autumn months. Very light, zippered pockets. I do wish that it would have an internal pocket like the nano puff jacket does. That's my only complaint, and it's not a real complaint, to be honest. This is a great product to enhance an outdoor wardrobe.
I bought this item after careful research and though I'd normally go for a boring colour. I chose this yellow. It's a great item and I really like it. In fact the centred zip with no cover is perfect. I have the packable rain jacket which has a zip cover that annoyingly gets caught all the time ( when it is no longer functional I'll upgrade. I especially like the sizing which for me is xs - the important thing is that it fits ( tried in store before purchasing online). Yes it is expensive but I'll pay that for the ecological considerations, quality materials, exceptional fit and great quality
I recently moved to the north from a tropical climate. My girlfriend said I desperately needed a warm vest. I was clueless about winter garb but I knew about Patagonia. I originally ordered a medium because all reviews said they ran large. I wanted to be able to wear it over a hoodie to ride a gravel bike in really cold weather. I had to return it as it just wasn't big enough to wear over something bulky. The replacement arrived fast and hassle free and Worked as expected. I work as a jazz musician and often have to wear a sui.t I found with this large size I can wear it over a suit jacket for loading/unloading gear. Brilliant! I also just like to wear it just for running errands. It's so extremely light and warm I often feel like it's a product of some kind of ... MoreI recently moved to the north from a tropical climate. Highly Recommended.
