There is a nerve that runs right in front of the hip bone and this often gets crushed and cause pand and numbness on my thigh. Any pants with belt or thicker elastic material along that spot gives me pain and numbness, so this pants solved all that in one swoop! On top of that, it is somewhat water repellent (not rain pants but enough to ward off some wetness in rain). Oh, and on top of that, mosquitos can't go through it! My friends got bit all over the legs through their pants but I didn't get one bite. I thought it was treated! This pants was my backpacker/thru hiker's dream come true (in warmer weather)!

These are by far the best version of these pants yet. the fit is easy and loose but not bulky. As a slim built person, its hard to find slim pants that are built this way, a major win if youre also a slim build. The under seam is cleverly sewn to reduce and eliminates all chaffing (like happens in jeans) and the inner tie string to bring waist tight is superb. Its an all round win, fir comfort and fit. As for duability and wear have already put a pair through 4,000km of motorbiking and they are holding up well, not the easiest to wash, so, possibly consider a darker colour. Highly recommend these!

Great for walking!

Light weight, durable, hiking/travel pants! New version of a similar pair that I replaced from years of use. My one and only go to Patagonia walking pants that work well in hot and cold climates. I sized them to work for me with or with out a thermal layer, for all season use!Nice new features- inner draw string, fabric seems more stretchy, and moisture beads off better. The two front hand pockets seem a bit smaller at the opening than my last pair.Exactly what I was looking for in a replacement for my last worn out pair!Light weight, durable, simple got to outside pants! Mighty fine job on this pant Patagonia! Thank you!

My Pants for Almost Every Occasion
30 October 2022

I have three pair. I wear these for golf. I travel with two pair. They pack easily, shake out so they look fresh and hang dry overnight. They are comfortable in 90deg weather and in 30 deg weather. I wear them overseas touring by day and eating out at night. The thigh pocket zips for storing a cell phone. The unzippered front pockets allow easy access for frequently gotten items (golf tees, etc). The one zippered back pocket is ideal. These pants have held up well to repeated wear over 6+ years. PLEASE MAKE THESE IN BLACK! I am 5'9", 148# and wear a 32x32. These are a great fit.

Needs a longer version >32in
21 January 2023

These pants are fantastic. Ridiculously comfortable, fast drying, DWR for light rain. I use these hiking on the Florida Trail and they are my new favorite hiking pant. Full size belt loops (thank you!) accept a 2.75in belt which is much more comfortable keeping you pants in position when hiking over long miles trudging through swampy trails. And made of recycled fishing nets which is really cool. My only gripe is the limited lengths. Please offer in a 34in or longer length. I am 5-11, normally wear 34/34 pants and these 34/32 are just short enough to look silly. Waist size fits true.

Pretty Good Casual Pants
26 September 2022

I loved the stretchy fabric from the first wearing! I also liked the idea of an inside-the-waistband tie string, but the stretchy tie-string, not so much. The soft, wider, nylon tie string in the Transit Traveler pants feel more secure and I can judge the tightness better than a stretch tie string. Other than that, these pants are great for traveling, hiking, and any other activity where you want full leg coverage. Its got all the pockets of my denim jeans, but feel so comfy with the stretch fabric. The belt loops seemed redundant, but if you need something to hook a tape measure, knife/Leatherman holster, or a key caddy to, you'll be glad they are there. I cannot speak for the toughness of the fabric yet, but they have held up well with a week's worth of daily ... MoreI loved the stretchy fabric from the first wearing! I don't hesitate to do a little heavy lifting or tackling a dirty chore just because I'm wearing new pants, so I've been impressed thus far.

Should be labeled as Skinny/Slim. Poorly advertised.

Have you ever touched a weight, in your life?Do you, on occasion, consume protein? Can you spell the word "gym"?If you answered "yes" to any of these questions, these pants are not for you.I tried to love them. I really did. But like most pants on me, the waist is too big and the low hips and thighs are way too tight. And I like tight pants, I do. But these pants have my whole crotch on display. The shoe string they put in the waist band seems like a real after thought. The material is stretchy and comfortable and seems suitable even in warmer weather. That's why I'm rating 2 stars instead of 1.The waist is so loose that I need to wear a belt, but the thighs are so tight that it's awkward walking around, so me sizing up just wouldn't work out. Nobody likes it ... MoreHave you ever touched a weight, in your life?Do you, on occasion, consume protein? Can you spell the word "gym"?If you answered "yes" to any of these questions, these pants are not for you.I tried to love them. Nobody likes it when the fly is all misshapen from having an overly loose waistband. The measurements of this product are out of wack and are clearly meant for a skinny/slim fit. Why are they not advertised as such? Because they make more money this way, which is really disheartening.5'10190lbSquat 365lbMy waist is 32"My quads are 26"+Ordered size 33, not happy.I guess guys who lift weights don't deserve hiking pants?

The best hiking pants for cooler weather
20 March 2023

These pants are my top pick for fall / winter / spring hiking, snowshoeing, camping, and general outdoor activities. The DWR holds up great against light rain and snow but are certainly not waterproof. On the flip side they dry very quick when wet. I've used these is warm summer weather and they work great but I have some other pants (Patagonia Altvia Trail Pants) that I prefer when I know it will be really hot and the DWR is not necessary. I'm on the slimmer side and they are a comfortable and relaxed fit. They look great and could certainly be work casually.

The fit is great. The styling with a minimum of pockets, limited to only those which one aAnd the fabric, Nylon like, is excellent; is is very soft to the skin and is not hot at all; it is truly comfortable while totally durable. This is not the hot synthetic material that we all...many of us... wore once, when we were kids. This is synthetic like that breathes like light cotton. I continually reorder another pair in a new color. They are a different world, both in comfort and appearance, from the jeans that I am famous for always wearing. I highly recommend these pants.

Very light and comfortable!
14 February 2023

Nice cut. Nice fit. Look nice enough for dinner out, but excellent on the trail in spring and fall which was what I got them for.I have a pair of Prana pants to compare. These are lighter, and I favor them for all but one thing: The Pranas have a built in belt-cinch that is super easy and actually works like a belt. These Patagonia pants have a draw string (on the inside) instead which is just not as effective, and requires tying. So now Im looking out for a light nylon belt, to improve this. And until the I use my leather belt (my jeans belt) which works wel but is less than ideal for trails - particularly steep ones where you bend and twist and lean a lot. Still I truly love these pants, and would get them again.
