I bought this pant along with other orders on May 19th to be exact . Because I was abroad, I asked my brother to bring them back to me when he came home to visit family in late August. I wore them twice so far, no more than 7 days in total, and then I noticed two problems. , First, this pantā€˜s lines of the two trouser legs are not symmetrical at all, and the trouser line of the left leg is crooked. Second, the worn marks on the two trouser legs are obvious. This is the worst pant I have ever worn. MEC is a company that pays great attention to quality, I hope this issue can be taken seriously. But I strongly do not recommend this product.

Pants are lightweight fabric with some stretch and easy to move in. The zippers in the legs are color-coded to easily tell which leg goes back on which side. I also like the elastic draw cord in the waist for fine-tuning the fit or if I a drop a few pounds on a backpacking trip. I bought the older version with the angled (frogmouth) front pocket while the newer version has rounded front pockets like jeans.Fit: I am 6'-3" and 190 lb and I normally need a 34-35" inseam in jeans, but the length was good on the 32" inseam, which was surprising in a good way. When I measure the inseam, it measures out at 32". They are a slim-fit pants which suits me well. My quads are about 22" flexed. I felt these fit me better than the Prana Brion II, which seemed tighter in the thigh.

I knew from reviews that these are warm weather pants. The fabric is very soft to the touch (despite synthetics and DWR), and they transfer heat exceptionally well so that they'll keep you cool if you're hiking hard or if the weather is quite hot. The DWR works well to deal with a light shower here and there. It's the mobility that impresses me the most! Through stretch and fit, I find these to be superior to many pants that I've owned. I hike forest and mountain paths, and deal with about 500m of vertical ascent often. I don't feel constrained by these pants, and while I'm not a wall climber, I feel confident that these are perfect for all activities shy of that. The included tie allows me to skip belts, which helps with harnesses or hipbelts.100% recommend.

Love these pants

I have several pairs of these pants in different colors and I love them. Have worn them for 3 or more years bro consistently. Very versatile, very comfortable, and as usual with Patagonia, very well made. I mostly wear them for casual everyday wear, but also hiking and other outdoor adventures. They provide a cleaner look than most ā€œhikingā€ pants while still being very comfortable ( I’m not a huge fan of jeans as I can’t move well in them). Love the thigh pocket for my phone, especially when in the car. The material has slight stretch which makes it even easier to move without them having to be baggy. I’ve even worn them for yoga on occasion! They do stretch out over several wears and get a little loose in the waist until the next wash, though. I’ve even worn them for yoga on occasion! They do stretch out over several wears and get a little loose in the waist until the next wash, though. The waist drawstring comes in handy! The material is thin, so they are not the best in cold weather, and probably not the best for any off-trail hiking through briars or rock scrambling. I just don’t see them taking that type of abuse. For on trail hiking and backpacking or general travel use they are great! I’m am 5-11, an athletic 175 lbs with a true waist measurement of 34, and the 32x32 fit great. Many pants of this type have the modern fit that is way too tight in the thighs and crotch area with a low rise in back that makes them feel like they’re falling down. These pants are not that way and make this very picky middle-aged man very happy.

Love these pants

I love these pants. Great fit and very comfortable. Great activewear and stretch makes them really comfortable, but stylish enough for urban adventures and I have even started wearing them to work. Seem very durable and with no signs of wear so far. Cool in warm weather and I can add a light base layer to extend wearability. Pocket configuration works just right for me. Will definitely be buying more of these.

Love these pants, but...
1 May 2024

This is my second pair, they're terrific, I didn't like zip-off pants prior to getting these, but they have become a standard part of my wardrobe, for camping and for just being around town.It would be great if they came in a short, the 32" inseam is far too long for me at 5'8" with a 30" inseam.I will be taking this pair again to a tailor to have them adjusted. One would think a zip-off pant would come in different lengths! Just produce different length zip-offs...

Nice pants with a more versatile look
23 April 2021

The fit is great, but I had to size up to a 33, and would consider these pants under-sized overall. I normally wear a 32, 5'10", 170 lbs with 32 inseam. The pants have a slight taper to the ankles, surprisingly, and dont look baggy. They are a bit tight around the hips and "front" section.I tried on a more stretchy pairs from other brands (14% elastane), these are 6%, but I expect will hold their shape and be slightly more durable. The inner gusset is nice. What I like; these pants for the most part look like normal slacks, but with a technical fabric. Should be good for hiking, golf, and travel. What I'm not thrilled about: I don't like the back-zipper. I'd prefer if either both or none were zipped, and the zipper was hidden. Front pockets are a bit small too.My previous pair of pants were the Marmot Arch Rock and were bomb proof, but looked a little more technical. I'm hoping these will be as durable. The Arch Rock had reinforced ankles (doubled fabric) which I thought was great, these don't have that. Many of my issues are fit or preference related, and the overall execution, fabric, and quality of the product is great, so 5 stars is warranted.

Patagonia Organic Cotton Pants
21 December 2023

Very pleased with the purchase! Came ahead of schedule. I've had another pair of these very durable pants (they really hold up well all over, but especially the knees, which seem to wear out in my other pants) for quite a while and love them. I love that they are mostly organic cotton, but I do wish they were 100% natural material. The only downside I anticipate is that my previous Patagonia pants (same exact style, different color) fit and look great, but over time have shrunk a little in length. My wife says the length looks great but I'd prefer if they were still 1/2" longer. So I'm anticipating that these new pants may shrink a small amount, but I'm going to do my best to avoid this. Super slim fit and weird material
17 June 2022

Went to my local shop to try on before ordering. Tried on a 30 was a bit too big so I went online to order a 28. Recv the order via postage mail which was delayed due to fedex not delivering efficiently to Mammoth Lakes. When I tried on the 28 they felt like a weird stretchy swimsuit material that had an extremely slim cut to them and I wear skinny jeans in a 28. I own a pair of Patagonia zipped knee hiking pants from maybe 7 years ago. Flawless design back then. Only this far in the future have I considered replacing them. Im going to try a 30 to give Patagonia another chance but the newer design makes me hesitant to and Ill prob switch to another outdoor gear competitor but hoping I wont have to and the 30 isnt so tech stretchy. Further salt in the wound site says the product is only available for return not exchanged so I have to eat the return shipping when exchanges are usually free shipping. I dont think I could have even made some of the larger high step trails on the east side with these on. Cuff at the pant was weird too very slim and doesnt allow for high shin short pant roll up style. overall looked more like a fashion piece than a functional piece. Im also orig from a very large midwestern city so I admire fashion but this doesnt work for a practical hiking pant. Weird thing is the waste fits well but the rest of the pant is almost jegging slim.

True to size - big fan
27 March 2024

Just what I was looking for. One pair of pants/shorts that I could bring with me on the PCT to help reduce pack weight. For this situation, I prefer a longer pair of shorts (which these are). It’s been cool and rainy so have mainly used as pants. They are fast to dry which has been a must! Bonus feature, this pair contains a strap at the bottom that will allow to roll up the pants and secure for (shallow) water crossings or for those ā€œwhat everā€ situations. Big fan of Patagonia and also these pants.
