Amazing jacket

I tried a bunch of the fancy/trendy ski jackets (Montec, HH, Arcteryx, etc.) and came back to this. It has everything you need and none of the shiny bells and whistles that you dont. It has enough insulation it can be used on its own for an around town jacket and is thin enough to do the classic base-mid-shell trinity for cold weather. Build is fantastic. Zippers are fantastic. All the pockets you need for skiing (cant speak to boarding). Fit is great. Im 6 foot 2 inches 210 lbs with a 36 waist and broad shoulders. XL was perfect. Dont be fooled by their 6 ft models wearing a medium- thats not going to work if you like to move you arms above your waist. Go with whatever shirt size you normally wear and youll be happy. Material and build quality is perfect as usual for the brand. Fit is ok- at 6 foot, 175 lbs but muscular/athletic, its roomy everywhere for layering which I wanted except for the upper back/shoulders- even with no layers with the rest of the fit baggy, its hard to raise my arms up or reach forward with both arms. But thats typical of outdoor brands- not cut for muscular builds really. All features are great except powder skirt is too loose and its not adjustable- how much would adding two more snaps really have cost?So great quality with flawed design for my build. If you are not an athletic build, it will be true to size and perfect 5/5 for you. At the end of season sale price, Im satisfied with it. Would not pay full price.

Fantastic Shell, will keep you warm and dry

This is an amazing shell. Have worn it skiing in very wet conditions and very cold conditions. The jacket performed superb in a wet/snowy (everything was soaked) day and kept my upper body dry with no soak-thru. Dries out quickly as well. Layered base layer and fleece, was warm in the low teens. With proper layering this shell can do it all. I am thoroughly impressed with this shell. Highly recommended. 5' 10", 160lb, size Small fit great with room to layer without being bulky or tight.

Great everyday jacket for Fall through Spring in the PNW.
2 April 2023

My new go to coat for fall through Spring. I had an OR coat last yer but the zipper was junk. I returned it on warranty, good warranty, I mat add. But I got this one to replace it, superior in every way, warm, waterproof, comfortable with great zippers, Also a great price and customer service with EVO. Honestly I never heard of them until I was pricing jackets, since then I have purchased several items form them, outstanding customer service even with a messed up delivery- thanks UPSP.

Great saleswoman
24 February 2023

I went to ten shops at Boulder's Pearl Street Mall plus REI. I chose a Patagonia ski jacket and pants in Siskiyou brown and cabin gold. The jacket has five pockets, more than most others I saw. The outfit matches, and stands out in a crowd, making me easier for my ski buddies to spot. The saleswoman, Alexsis, was so helpful I had trouble dispassionately evaluating the competing products.I wish you had a large jacket with sleeves 3 inches shorter. The medium is tight on my torso. I also wish you had an external clip on the jacket for my carabiner and whistle. I want to be able to reach it with either hand in a tree well. Why have you and all your competitors done away with the hugely helpful external clip?

Long Arms/Torso - Not Roomy
11 January 2023

The model pictured for this Powder Town jacket is 6'1" wearing a size medium. If you are anything other than a 6'1" man who eats nothing but rice cakes and has arms that rest down around your ankles, this jacket will likely fit poorly. The arms extend to the tips of my fingers, the torso extends to the bottom of my butt, and the chest is very tight with no room to layer underneath. I would love to see Patagonia's design team use a single shade of red as the two tone red is odd looking. I would also like to see them restore a true relaxed-fit ski jacket to their line-up like the Patagonia relaxed-fit of the 1990's. This jacket, sans powder skirt, would make a great addition to the running category as it will fit the very tall and the very skinny. The jacket is built with the usual excellent quality and construction of Patagonia, but really misses the mark for many skiers and riders who want a jacket baggy enough to layer and to move around in on the mountain. The RFID pass pocket on the arm is a nice addition as many resorts are moving in that direction for passes and lift tickets. I can only recommend this jacket for long, skinny, pea on a toothpick body types, which make a very low percentage of the people I see on the mountain. This jacket is the new "regular fit" Patagonia, which is the slim-fit of yesteryear Patagonia.

Nice jacket, but "insulated" is a stretch
28 February 2023

Skied a couple days in this jacket. I like the fit and features, but probably going to return it as the insulation doesn't really feel substantial at all. It left me feeling cold on a relatively sunny, 15-25 degree day. I was wearing the same base layers that had been perfectly comfortable in my previous insulated ski jacket from a different manufacturer. If you're looking to use this as more of a shell, or for spring touring, it could be a good option. If you're looking for a bomb-proof take-anywhere jacket for cold weather, it's probably not for you.

Nice three seasons jacket
11 March 2023

After comparing this with a Columbia Whirlibird 4, I opted to keep this as the jacket to replace my well-worn Patagonia Down Sweater. I was looking for a synthetically-insulated jacket for temps from the 30s to upper-50s, having grown tired of my Down Sweater leaking feathers from the cuffs and elsewhere.I have been wearing this jacket non-stop for two weeks now and I’m quite happy with it. The shell is very water-repellent, the insulation is more than sufficient, construction quality is good, and the jacket looks quite nice. Any complaints would be minor but would include the absence of a two-way zipper [what was Patagonia thinking not including this, especially at this price point?] and non-stowable/-removable hood.Overall, would definitely recommend.

Well Made, Nice fitting, and Durable
31 December 2022

When I first bought the jacket I was expecting a big kinda bulky jacket. It's nothing like that. Very fitting, comfortable and lightweight for being what it is. The insulation is warm enough but I never feel like I will overheat in this jacekt which is a plus for me. I wouldn't say its a jacket I would take for weather below zero but for snow sports on an average 20-40 temperature day its perfect. A bonus is that it can be worn as an everyday jacket because of the way its made.
