An update on the classic R1 Hoody, Patagonia's TechFace fleece significantly improves the durability and wind resistance of the original, making it more of an outer layer than a base. You also get a full length front zip, two venting hand pockets (positioned above the waist) and the hood is now adjustable. An outstanding garment that's hard to classify, but it is highly breathable, shrugs off the weather and is a lot lighter and softer than your average softshell.
