I want to give this hat five stars because so much about it is great. The Current Blue colour is super, the hat is lightweight and can be folded up inside the sewn-in pocket, the brim is shorter than a standard sun hat but slightly broader than some bucket hats so the coverage is a bit better. However, the large size is actually reeeally large. I have a large head and have difficulty finding hats. I wear at XL in most hats, including Outdoor Research sun hats, but this Patagonia hat is strangely loose. I can tuck my long ponytail inside it and it's still quite loose. I'm going to keep it because I really like it and worry the smaller size would be too small... but I certainly can't wear it on a windy day. I've always been a Tilley bucket hat fan until I got this one on my head. Bought a small and fits just right on my 7 1/4" hat size head. I'm going to be wearing this hat on the job and off. I was outside in the heat and decided to soak this hat down, put it on and felt just like those "cooling" hats you wring and shake out and it cools....well patagonia has the upper hand when it comes to the quality of material, build, fit and style. Super easy to clean so it doesn't get that nasty man sweat smell, I use that dawn power wash spray and it does smell, rinses fast out of this material and back on it goes. I love this one so much.....I bought the steam blue one as well to rotate. And lastly.....you can buy two of these for the price of one Tilley.

Overall I really love this hat; bought the one with the alligator print. The fabric is very light-weight so it is great in hot weather. Also it is nice because there are no worries about crushing the brim. As for sizing, I have the S/M size and it fits a little loose if you have very straight hair (like me). The only shortfall about this hat is because of the small brim, it does not give your nose sun protection like the older style large bucket hat Patagonia used to offer. I wish Patagonia would bring the large bucket hat back in some cute colors so I can replace my old faded one. You cant beat the fabric of the bucket hat for comfort in hot conditions.
