It has a very faint smell that isn't at all unpleasant and it appears to be a clear liquid. It made my face feel INCREDIBLY soft, and e-x-t-r-e-m-e-l-y smooth! My complexion also appeared a bit brighter after using it. My skin felt soothed after using it and the redness that I have been experiencing lately was all but gone. The pores on my face appeared smaller as well, which was a tall order, because I have really been struggling with the ones on my nose, but they were much, much smaller! What it is, is a daily leave-on exfoliant with 2% salicylic acid to sweep away dead skin cells, unclog pores, and visibly smooth wrinkles, practically overnight. Hello GLASS SKIN !! Paula’s Choice is my go to for skincare, she never lets me down. I’ve been obsessed with her aha toner for years so if you’re a fan of that you’re going to love this ! One pump is enough to cover my entire face neck and décolletage. The gel formula is really thin and slippery glides on super easy and has fast absorption. My skin looks super bright, my pores disappear and the texture in my skin has improved so much since using this my skin is smooooth like butter. Aha is a magical exfoliant without the abrasion this is just so nice for getting rid of old dead skin and resurfacing your face. This is deff a must have if you want glass skin. I received this product complimentary from Paulas’s Choice. I don’t use many AHA products since I skew towards BHA products instead. I use this after toner and it absorbs quickly onto my skin and I can quickly apply moisturizer. I highly suggest avoiding vitamin C when using this product and always wear with SPF during the day. AHA is a bit more gently on my combination skin but still highly effective. It gives your skin a natural and brightness after a few days of using. If you have sensitive skin, use every other day. Otherwise everyday is okay. Wat h out for dryness or irritation.
This is perfect for me. As someone who has been using the BHA 2% exfoliant for a couple years now, I was craving something on these intense skincare nights. This works amazing for someone who already uses another light exfoliant daily and needs something to really deal with texture and overall skin dullness. This is not a product I would personally use everyday compared to the other, however once or twice a week as a facial type of product I think this would be amazing. I probably wouldn’t recommend someone with sensitive skin using this more than once a week if that. I did receive this item complimentary from Paula’s Choice however I purchase from this brand quite often.
I've been loving this product as the most recent addition to my skin care routine. I have very acne/congestion prone oily skin. My acne's mostly controlled with several actives (adapalene/PC's azelaic acid in PM and BHA/BPO in AM), but I was still dealing with textured skin/milia/mild hormonal nodular acne prior to using this product. In the AM, I do a very gentle double cleanse using squalane and PC's natural gel cleanser and then use PC's liquid BHA, this AHA, and finish with SPF moisturizer. Approx every other AM I follow with a small amount of BPO product depending on my skin that day. I found this AHA to be more effective and still very nonirritating using it with that combo.
