I bought some cheap Amazon cubes to test out the cube idea and whilst the concept is good they didn't fit perfectly my pack and the resulting empty space was not easy to fill comfortably.Thus my purchase of 3 of these cubes. Since they are 1/3 the volume of my pack the packing is just too easy.Add to that the superb quality and you can't go wrong with these.

After seeing consistently high ratings for the Peak Design packing cubes, I had to try them out. Purchasing the larger one on sale, upon arrival I was immediately struck by 1) how much darker it was than in marketing photos (it DOES indeed fit the description of "charcoal" after all, not light grey or even sage grey as it appears in company images), and 2) how much more durable it feels. The compression zipper mechanism is high quality and easy to use; if you place your finger within the zip as you close it, you won't ever have a zipper jam, which is mentioned as having happened in another review. But for me, surprisingly the best feature is the ability to very quickly unzip the cube by the dual pull tags! It's smooth! It's fun! It's darn right addictive! The zipper ... I bought a small and a medium, and I gotta say, I'm impressed!I rolled my clothes and fit more than I thought I could. The small size easily holds a week's worth of personals and socks with room to spare, and the medium cube fits 5 pairs of shorts, a pair of pants, a jumpsuit, 8 tops, and a bathing suit—then compresses!Speaking of, the cubes compress easily with minimal fighting from the zippers, which are nice, and the overall quality seems solid. I needed something to store all of my folded up silks/scrims. This bad boy fits several thick, large silks and other fabrics. The peel open double zipper design is extremely convenient, and I love the fact that you can expand the size of the bag to stuff more things into it before collapsing it down tight. Really great purchase (as expected for Peak Design)!
I bought this for a trip to organize my upper area in the Peak Design everyday bag.I was able to add all my loose items into the packing cube including some T-Shirts medication, cables and so on. It is also nice that there are several zippers to store / organize the stuff accordingly even more.The cube fits perfectly into the bag and makes therefore best use of the space in the backpack while avoiding to have smaller items falling into the backpack. Ideal for travelling - especially when you have to travel with all your stuff, get to the hotel room and quickly remove all the additional weight and items to lighten the bag before going onto photo safari.
We have been using these cubes for two back packing trips now and they are great for compressing our clothing down. The small is perfect for socks, underwear and shirts. It really does save on the room in your bag too. It has a separated zipped in the back that can be used to store dirty clothes throughout the trip too. I highly suggest using this if you are looking to squeeze in that extra shirt or if you are looking to save on space in the bag. The zipper quality is great and they have stood up to our trips thus far.
