So, I’ve been using Peak Design gear for some time now. I actually have the original Capture. I then picked up the carbon tripod which came with this version of the PD plate. I obviously mounted that in the standard location. I then purchased this second one to mount on the left side of my cage so I can actually use it in portrait with a tripod. I’m shooting with a Nikon Z which only has a dead portrait grip. Anyone who owns the PD tripod can probably attest that simply tilting the head doesn’t always work well, this was a cheap solution for me.

The V3 standard plate is great! BUT, it's a much lower profile plate than the V1 plate which makes it incompatible with V1 bases despite what the FAQs section of this product indicates. I've flagged the FAQ answer from B&H as inaccurate, so hopefully they will revise the answer. However, you can make the V3 plate compatible with the V1 base by replacing the 1/4-20 screws that come with the V1 base with low profile flat head screws or button head screws that are filed off. I've attached several photos showing the issue, and how I resolved it.As far as the clearance for a flip out screen, the plate can be oriented to that it's flush with the back of the camera assuming that the camera depth is similar to the Fuji XT-4 - which is what I've attached my base plate to.

If you need an Arca-type plate and also need an affixment point for a strap, this is exactly the ticket. With a Peak anchor attached, this still mates with my ProMediaGear C60 and PM501 clamps without interference. It is also very low profile, definitely the smallest Arca-type plate I have ever had. It is a little costly for what it is, but it solves the problem I had perfectly.

The Peak Design people are insane. They can take a metal plate and craft it into the photographers perfect gadget. Get the Peak Design clip and make your life easier too. Worth the money! (Ouch!)
This is exactly what I was looking for. I use the Peak Slide Lite and wanted an ARCA plate that I didn't have to take off when I used the sling. This is perfect and will be able to stay on my camera all the time while still letting me switch between tripod and sling without issue.
I love that the Peak system lets me pop my camera on the tripod by just snapping this plate into the mount. No need to loosen a screw or lever and tighten it back down. Getting my camera off is just as easy. Thumb the mount side and lift it out. I chase storms and have arthritis in my hands. Time is of the essence when setting up, and even more so when hail is on the way and you need to move.
This new thinner version really does make for a slightly but noticeably smaller package. Every little bit helps sometimes. Be aware that this plate only works with Capture v3, not earlier versions.
It's Peak Design, of course it's great. I got it to use with my Peak Design Slide strap. It's super small and low profile. I've never been able to keep a tripod plate connected because of the bulk, but this one is great. Works perfectly on both my Peak Design Travel Tripod and my Vanguard Veo BH-160S tripod head.
I originally purchased the PD capture clip V3 without this plate since the former is, in theory, compatible with any arca swiss plate. However, the locking mechanism of the clip only works with this custom designed plate. Also, this plate has a hex key screw at the bottom which works much better than typical thumb screws. Once tightened, it never loosens from your camera. Lastly, this plate fits nice and snug in any arca tripod head. Never thought I would appreciate a camera plate so much but PD have some grood craftsmanship.
If you are like me with every tripod or head, you got an Arca Swiss plate. Why buy another?I had a simple reason. None accommodated heads in either direction and fitting my Peak Design anchors would interfere in one direction or another. Not with this plate. Likely will never leave my camera again...The only downside, and not that important for me, is it does not have the little raised points that will keep your camera from sliding off while you tighten down. I just pay attention and tighten it down.
