Excellent, product was better than I expected. Great job with shipping. Very expedient and sufficiently packed. One needed a little cleaning externally due to a little adhesive but was easy to clean up. Perfectly fine for a used item. No damage upon inspection looks sturdy as if it were new. Case opens as expected and doesn't feel old or damaged.

These cases are great and I'd buy one again without hesitation. The pluck foam however leaves a lot to be desired. I was super plucking out the shapes I needed, I was cautious as to not damage any of the surrounding cubes of foam. The thing is, once you start plucking, the other perforated cubes won't stay attached long. I really just wanted to write this review to share the solution that I've found. (See my photo). I used torn strips of gaffers tape to wrap around the remaining sections of foam (all sides are wrapped so there's no more worry about foam detaching.) This solution has served me well for a little over a year now with no issues. I hope this review may help someone else.

This case was purchased to house and transport telescope eyepieces and associated equipment. For that purpose it works great. The customizable pluck foam was relatively easy to fashion, keeping each piece properly isolated and protected. The case is so solid you get the impression it would survive just about any mishap leaving the contents intact.That said, I do have a couple suggestions for improvement. The snaps which close the case are quite loud so slipping quietly back into the house after a session of late night star-gazing is nearly impossible. Also, the handle wasn't designed to fit my ordinary human hand. This isn't a problem for me since I only move the case short distances. I needed a way to travel with my pistols and revolvers safely. I knew I wanted a Pelican case for their historic durable construction and protection, but I did not want to pay full price. I found this used case at a very reasonable price and bought it. I purchased replacement foam that fit perfectly and still saved a lot of money compared to buying new.
I was going to buy a backpack, couldn't find one big enough..., And use that for a camera case, but this is far better. . This size case 1520, with the dividers in it, will fit, two SLR cameras, three lenses, a flash unit standing up, and still have room to expand. I could get two more lenses in this case yet, if not too big. Example my 300 mm has to lay down, it's too long to stand up and close the cover. With everything in it the case, is bit heavy but I don't mind. Every thing on this case is heavy duty, including the handle, and the lid locks.The one good thing about this case is, that it is water tight, I don't have to worry about bringing it in from the cold temps out side to the house and letting everything get fogged up. I knew I wanted a Pelican case for my gear, but a local dealer was selling the same case with dividers for about $ more. I was able to order this one from B&H and have it delivered to Boston the next day.The case itself is really solid - what you'd expect from something tested to military standards. I was a little skeptical about the dividers, thinking foam would keep my camera and lenses more snug and stable in the case, but the dividers are pretty easy to configure in a way that keeps everything secure and safe. I'm glad I opted for the dividers, as I'm able to fit my 6D, mirrorless camera, 6 lenses (including a Canon TS-e 24mm and Rokinon 85 f/1,4), plus other accessories. Using the pick and pluck foam would've limited the available space.
I bought this case to store my 2 cameras, A Fuji x100s with 2 filters and a lens hood, and a Canon 6D, some flashes and a lens or two. I had never used a Pelican case before but my expectations where pretty high and I have to say that B&H and Pelican, did not disappoint. I had originally ordered the storm version of this case but realized after purchase that the latches were different then the double-throw latches on the standard pelican. After realizing this it took only about 15 minutes to cancel that order and order the 1520. This case is amazing. I can honestly say that if I were to drop this case off of a ledge or from bridge that my equiptment would be safe. The case is alittle heavy but nothing not overwhelming. These cases maintain my camera equipment in pristine condition during transport and provide a low humidity level during storage, using reusable desiccation canisters. Easy to open, close and carry two at a time, I secure them with brass Master Lock sliding side bolt locks. The Pelican case metal lock clips require slight drilling to accommodate the Master Lock hasp but theyre a good tight un-tamperable fit. Two coiling combination cable locks through the handles keep the 1520 cases from walking away when Im moving the eight cases I use; sometimes in the rain, with canvas cased tripods stacked with them.
