I was able to fit most of my gear in the this case, and after lock down all the tabs you know it is safe. Worth the price, for the peace of mind.

I've had Pelicans for years and this one is just like the rest of them - strong, dependable, etc. It's a pelican - what else is there to say. It fits all of my audio, light, and camera equipment (I carry relatively lightly). My only issues with this one was that it came smelling like smoke! Had to air it out for a day before I could use it.
I feel confident that my Cameras are protected.
I use the 1650 now as my studio in a box for location work. It's the size of an international suitcase. I considered getting two smaller pelicans versus one big one but in the end went for the simplicity of one generous case. There is something satisfying about opening up the case and hearing the air lock release. If you have done your research you will know that Pelican's are indestructible but the pay off is the weight. A price you have to pay for the durability and the air/water/dust tight seal. The wheels are solid under the weight of a loaded case. I have dragged it across rocks, gravel and just yesterday through a cow paddock with uneven ground, dirt and grass. I avoided any 'cow pucks', thank goodness. It's a good feeling knowing that everything inside is ... MoreI use the 1650 now as my studio in a box for location work. It's the size of an international suitcase. I have dragged it across rocks, gravel and just yesterday through a cow paddock with uneven ground, dirt and grass. I avoided any 'cow pucks', thank goodness. It's a good feeling knowing that everything inside is protected from dust! I used to carry 2 camera bags, 1 utility bin and I attached it all with bunji cords to a dolly. Wrestling through bags and the bin was time consuming and no matter how well I organised things ahead of time, things soon fell into chaos. I love opening the case and seeing everything I need and might need in clear view. Everything has a place and it's a no-brainer to drop back into place when shuffling and changing out gear. Regrets: I waited so long to get one. Cons: I am a woman and so the weight is a bit of a challenge but I needed a good excuse to build upper body strength!
I use this case to store all my photo equipment when on the road. It keeps everything together and safe, and easy to get the right pieces out for different shooting conditions. It could be lighter, but then it wouldn't be what Pelican is famous for!
This is my third Pelican case. I have a 1510 for carry on and a 1610 for checked bagage and for daily use for cameras, lens etc. I got this one for mono lights, and associated equipment. All of them have the padded inserts. These are great boxes and will last along time. Beware, if you have a compact car you may want to consider a smaller box.
this case is good than i imaging. the size, the safe level. i love it very much!!!
