Pelikan makes a great writing instrument, and the M200 is no different. If you've held a Sailor Pro Gear Slim, this pen is a similar size, though a tad slimmer. The piston-fill mechanism performs admirably, and allows this relatively small pen to have an impressive ink capacity. The fine nib that I recieved is wonderful. It is a true fine, though I've been told there is a bit of variance. I have not experienced this, as this is my first and only Pelikan. Even for a steel nib, it is quite smooth, and a wonderful writer.

Pelikan makes excellent products and I like collecting some of the M200 series of pens as they have gotten somewhat more "adventurous" with some of the more recent colours. I usually buy the fine nib size these days, but I yearn for a fine/medium Italic nib (which they used to produce). Lovely writer and it fits my hand nicely and holds a fair amount of ink.

Reminds me of beautiful cloudy days with a setting or rising golden sun. Lightness compared to my all metal Lamy LX gives it an edge. Plunger to refill requires more maintenance than a cartridge system hence more time to change ink colours but fun to do and not to complicated. Its light and so be gentle. Love using this pen. Brightens my day.

I am very amateur in the world of fountain pens, having just started using them this year. Between gifts and purchases, I have Pilot, TWSBI, Mont Blanc, Benu, and Lamy fountain pens. Having read quite a bit about Pelikans, I decided to add one to my collection. Wow, such a great pen, and it is not even one of the "high-end models"! It is not heavy and has smooth ink flow. The nib is not scratchy but more on the buttery side. This will definitely be a workhorse pen and I look forward to adding more birds to my collection.
I have had this pen for ten years or so and love it more than any other I have bought or tried. Unfortunately someone used it without asking about five years ago, so it has been clean and wrapped while I have tried to find away to have it repaired or have the nib replaced. Any help would be appreciated. I have many more expensive ones, but miss using this small and light one so very much.
I love this pen. I do not normally go for white pens, but the gold glitter is very pretty and subtle. It looks amazing when the light catches it just right. The pen writes very well, and the small size fits well in my hand. The pelican clip is the perfect touch!
Dear Sirs and Madam, previously, I only bought this version in silver, which cannot be ordered today. Please start making a version of this pen with silver accessories again.I buy it more.Thank you.Zdenek Bergman, Prague
This is the fifth Edelstein special edition set in my collection and I love them all. I usually prefer larger, heavier pens but the M200/M205 is shaped and balanced well enough that it is comfortable for me to use. I’ve gotten all of mine with EF nibs and I haven’t gotten a bad one yet. All are smooth and moderately wet (not gushing ink but no scratchy or squeaky sound/feel when writing with the matching inks). The look of the Golden Beryl pen is different compared to the other pens in the series. I think the golden sheen in the plastic is lovely but I wish they could’ve used clear plastic for the internal parts instead of white. I suppose white is less noticeable than the usual black parts, though.Based on some online reviews I was a bit worried the ink would be ... MoreThis is the fifth Edelstein special edition set in my collection and I love them all. I think the golden sheen in the plastic is lovely but I wish they could’ve used clear plastic for the internal parts instead of white. I suppose white is less noticeable than the usual black parts, though.Based on some online reviews I was a bit worried the ink would be too yellow for me or that it wouldn’t be readable with my preferred EF nib. After shaking the bottle, the ink is a beautiful bronzey copper sort of color! The shimmer seems to begin settling to the bottom of the bottle faster than some of the other shimmery inks I’ve played with so be sure to shake it well and fill your pen right away if you want the most sparkle! It looks fantastic in the pen when you roll it around. On paper, the shimmer is pretty subtle with an EF nib and it writes more orange than yellow. I don’t find it difficult to read at all. Probably not an everyday color for me (I lean more toward turquoises or deep browns) but it’s kind of fun and different.*A note on the “Safe to use in fountain pen” rating...I marked this as an ink to use in “economic” pens rather than “high end” only because of the added shimmer. While I’ve never had a shimmer ink actually clog a well-maintained fountain pen, the shimmer particles can be near impossible to completely clean out, even with repeated flushing and soaking. That may not be something people want to risk with high end pens (especially demonstrators, where you’ll keep seeing those sparkles in your feed months after trying out a shimmering ink). I’d recommend Pelikan’s non-shimmering inks for fountain pens of any level.
I have had my eye on this pen for awhile but it was Out of Stock everywhere or only available with a nib size I didn't like. Imagine my surprise to find it on Levenger at a lower price! Admittedly, I did not pay attention to the details, so I was surprised to find out it was a small pen with a filling system I have never experienced, but that is not a problem because I love little pens (it is short, but not skinny) and was excited to try it out! I wanted to get a Pelikan for my collection, and was thrilled I could get it through Levenger, which has been my go-to company for all things pens and paper for years! (My True Writers are still some of my faves!)
