Pelikan Souveran M1000 Fountain Pen Black B - Broad

It's a Pelikan. It's Pelikan's flagship product. It's a high quality writing instrument. There's a giant two-tone, juicy, bouncy nib, some would even call it flexy. The piston is unbelievably smooth. Every detail says top quality engineering.Except: The ink window doesn't exist! The transparent cellulose-acetate material with alternating green stripes and dart stripes is no longer transparent. For me it's a huge disappointment not to see this feature on a Pelikan pen, something that was there for decades and now for "technical reasons" is not available any longer. Hence 4/5 stars.

Awe Struck

I just received my Pelikan Green Stripe M1000 and I was just blown away upon opening the box. OMG I'm Awe Struck at the brilliance of the pen inside the leather pouch. I almost didn't want to handle it. It is SO beautiful and gleams with gold and green. It's hard to express the workmanship of such a fine writing instrument. THANK YOU PELIKAN and Goulet pens. I coupled this pen with my favorite ink company Diamine Sherwood Green. A perfect match. I'm just setting here looking at the pen and continue to be Awe Struck. This was and now is, my GRAIL pen.

Dissapointment

So excited, unboxing this marvel, the Nib gorgeous not quite the splendor of MB 149 but a Butte. Inked and to my dismay major skipping issues. Flushed the piston with cold water and reinked with Waterman Inspired Blue...and Boo Hoo....I have a skipping M1000. Have been in contact with Pen Boutique, who wanted a writing sample which I furnished. Have not heard back from them but I'm sure I will. Just a total let down...you know that feeling after you unbox such a fine piece and it fails you. If it were to write, it would be a beautiful pen.

Every bit as good as one would expect.

The pen has a nice, solid feel. Mechanically everything is 10 out of 10. Uncapping, filling, posting, writing... everything feels nice. The nib is beautiful and writes beautifully; overall, the attention to detail is impeccable. My only complaint is that the cap, which screws on, has resin threads. Experience has taught me that over time this will be a problem. But, as this pen will be in rotation with a number of other pens, that problem will face my heirs, not me. I've wanted this pen for quite a while, and I'm completely satisfied with it now that I have it. I must remark that the packaging is rather understated, but does include a pen sleeve. If you're wondering if the pen is worth the price, in my opinion (openion?) It absolutely is.

Nib issues

I have bought the Pelikan M1000 three times, and all times with different nib-issues. On this one, there were hard-starts on every 6th side-stroke (or so ...). It really takes the pleasure away from writing with such a beautiful pen, because when the nib works, it is a very nice writer indeed, with a good weight and masterful craftmanship to it. But considering the price, the nib-issues is a clear deal-breaker and totally unacceptable, which made me return it. The M1000 is a wet writer, a big pen, and with a classic design and good ink-capacity.

One of my grails

The Pelikan M1000 has lived to its reputation! Smooth as butter writing, wet q.b., an amazing balance and weight. It’s all I was hoping and looking for. As usual, the purchase experience from Pen Boutique also outstanding!

Pelican Fountain Pen Souveran M1000 - Black & Green,

Very happy happy with this beautiful writing instrument. It writes a little bolder and wetter than I expected, but it definitely places a clear and lucid line on paper! I ordered the fine nib, which is quite a work of art, and find it work great on almost any paper. Also, produces an excellent line in reverse! I am also please with the excellent service your company has provided me. I will be back!

Pelikan M1000 fountain Pen

Although the pen itself is beautiful the packaging leaves much to be desire for a pen in this price point. First let me say that I’m a collector. The white box did not have any of the customary stickers to identify the contents as do all of my other Pelikans. The pen itself was missing the black tag which is usually attached to the pen clip.. if you can correct any of these concerns please let me know. I would love to continue my happy relationship with Iguana Sell.

The best fountain pen .

I bought this fountain pen after saving for long time but it was totally worth it. This is my first Pelikan and I have decided to go big and it was the best decision I have made . This pen glides on paper with smoothness . Plus it has little bit of flex that gives some line variation too . And the customer service of iguanasells was amazing . The agent answer promptly on WhatsApp which is mind blowing . Also the price was so great that I can’t find comparable. They shipped on Tuesday and it arrived here on Friday in 4 days

Thank you Pen Boutique and especially Joy.What a great Flagship. The Nib is every bit as close impressive as the 149...and oh my the flex in it for flourish if desired just amazing. The sound of posting is nothing but quality...who cares about the sound a pen makes when uncapping and posting...nothing but quality....then when you write jus smooth and responsive, I really love it, just a beautiful piece of art work. The Green and Black was sold out so I settled on black, which is really fine.
