Pencil First Games - Floriferous

I was sad I missed the first release of this so super pleased to have a second chance to purchase it. And it only took 2 days because of some prompt service and a miracle of timing and posting. This is a very light game, a glass of wine, summers day kinda vibe. The illustration plays a significant part in the joy of the game. There are significant choices to make but the game ends really quickly leaving me feeling a little incomplete. I think I prefer the longer game which is an option in the rule book. Solitary is OK but I prefer a two person game. It is quite a humble game: small box, no fillers, no unnecessary large pieces, no plastic. It is essentially a pleasant card game and one i am pleased to have purchased.

A Lovely Filler

Beautiful art. Played in 25 minutes with myself and 3 new players. Many ways to earn victory points. The easiest of game plays: choose a card. The decisions are interesting enough to keep me engaged. Turn order is determined by the card you choose each round, and if you choose last, you could get stuck going last every time, which is not the most fun, but even then you still have two card choices. Would recommend for anyone who is looking for a filler about wandering through a garden.

Beautiful and fun game

The game is beautiful and can be played solo or up to 4 players. It took some time for me to learn it but it is refreshing just to look at the cards. It has several ways to earn points so it takes some thinking but isnt a huge strategy game. I bought this one for a gift since I got one for Christmas and love it so much.

Such a beautiful and engaging game. I have only played this solo, but it is so well designed for a single player. An all round great game with quite a few strategic choices. I have had to check online about the rules a couple of times as there are a couple of bits that weren’t black or white in my opinion, but I’ve got my head round it now. Look forward to playing this in multiplayer, but definitely one to add to my collection. Zatu were very fast at dispatching too. They’re now my ‘go to’ online games store.

Fantastic game with stunning artwork. I don’t think I have seen a more beautiful game and the components are good quality. The solo play is great and it is quick to set up for a round or two. It is going to be played frequently. I would recommend it when you want a light game that does have strategy and decision making.I did have a query on the solo rules that I couldn’t find the answer to anywhere on line - ‘should the arrangement cards only be scored once - fyi the answer is yes’ - but I emailed pencil first games on their website and they replied within a few hours!

A beautiful game of collecting flowers and insects with a clever turn selection mechanism. You collect sets of cards or scoring cards as well as stones all in the hope of being the player with the most points at the end of the game. The artwork really stands out and the game has a very relaxed feel about it. Highly recommended

This is a fantastic set collection game with beautiful artwork. I am especially enjoying the solo mode against the Crow which is included in the box. Simple to play but with lots of interesting choices, this is a fast playing, floral board game beauty! Excellent service too - fast delivery and easy ordering process.

Great filler game with lovely art!

I think this game is perfect after a long day of work or on a weekend day between heavier games. It is quick but has a satisfying decision space. The production is A+ which I've come to expect from Pencil First Games.

Lovely Game!

Love this game. Still have to think and strategize, but it’s still quick and fun. Excited to play again already. Also it’s pretty and can teach kids some flower recognition.

Thinky beautiful stroll through a garden

This is a lovely quick game of set collection with stunning art and some tough choices -- do I choose the scoring card that I can fulfill with my poppies or do I choose the card that denies my neighbor the pink tulip they need? It's a tiny bit heavier than Herbaceous. Delightful.
