Penhaligon's Opus 1870 Eau De Toilette Spray 100ml

I love the combination of spicy and citrus/fruity/floral this has, without going too drastically in any of those directions. It has smokey undertones too, but is somehow still very much a "light smelling" cologne, nothing heavy or overly in-your-face.

This scent is sweet and woodsy without being too much of either. It's great. The problem is with the terrible box. The bottom part slides out, so be VERY CAREFUL. I received this shipment, took off the clear plastic wrapping, and watched as the entire bottle hit the floor. It's a good thing I like the scent because it will be pervading the room for about the next year or so. You've been warned!

I first tested Penhaligons Opus at the Art of Shaving store with my wife. My wife quickly fell in love with this scent on me and recommended that I buy it. I have been getting compliments from everyone (men and women). The women say that this scent smells very good on me and the men want to know where they can buy it.I would definitely recommend this cologne to any man who wants to impress women. It isn't overpowering by any means and should be used lightly. It lasts all day. You will definitely receive compliments.

My dad used to own this cologne when I was in highschool. He eventually gave it to me because I used it all the time and he found something he liked better. Now, 15 years later, I decided to get my own bottle! I was disappointed because it doesn't seem to smell the same as it used to. It has , what I can only describe as, a powdery scent that cheap body spray perfumes have. If the formulation has changed I would love to know if I can get some of the old stock.

Fresh, peppery, woody scent. Great for everyday use. Great opening notes, leaves light fresh feeling. Great for spring/summer days. Longevity is great. Definitely buying it again.

Lothair by Penhaligon's is the smell of freshness and vegetation, the smell of forests and meadows. Lothair is natural, but modern, dynamic, lively and intense. There is probably a bit of everything in it that can be associated with nature. It is fresh yet warm, watery yet green, woody yet spicy, airy yet aromatic. In the opening, Lothair feels more masculine thanks to intense and fresh notes of juniper and lavender. As it develops, Lothair gets warmer, calms down and even becomes cosy. This is the stage when a beautiful cardamom-vanilla base with a whole lot of woody notes, delicate oak moss and also the sensual scent of grey ambergris and musk starts to shine. The whole blend still remains fresh though, as the aromatic, fresh notes of juniper, lavender, delicate green notes and light geranium are still noticeable.

I received a sample size spray bottle from a third party retailer. It was part of a pack of "woody" fragrances. As it was the only bottle with an atomizer, I sampled it first and I was not disappointed! Definitely unisex, and definitely woody. It had great staying power and was lovely and fresh on my skin.

I love this stuff?

I bought one for myself. Then my dad complimented me on it and got him some for his birthday. Every time I see him he's got it on. I love woodsy colognes with a touch of sweetness. This cologne is great with a masculine cedar and pepper presence with a gentle pinch of sugar that lingers for about 4 or so hours. Not knock off. It's the real deal. Worth the 50 usd I have paid.

I received this as a gift a year or so ago. I have used it ever since along with 4711 Cologne Spray as a second backup or alternate cologne. I am sold on both products. I am close to placing new orders for both.

What a find; what a price!

Opus 1870 is not the easiest fragrance to find in the US since it is a British product (Penhaligon's). I was delighted to find it available at Fragrance X and at an unbelievable price. I use the product after bathing, sparingly on a daily basis.....a little goes a long way and the result is phenomenal. The compliments come in droves!
