I just got this reel and have only taken it out catfishing. I bought it originally to do some surf fishing but I couldn't wait to use the reel. I bought a Battle 3 DX a few years ago and absolutely love that reel. After reeling in a couple of 20lb catfish with this reel I am loving it too. The drag is smooth and has great stopping power. I can't wait to put this to the test on the surf. I will update this review if I can.
