I bought this reel just over 2 years ago and i have used this most days. it is very good and i paired it with a shimano raider 2-6kg 7,8foot. i use this reel for catching little herring on the bait jigs all the way to 70cm gt. Great reel. i would buy again

I have the 6500 HS. It can handle being dunked completely underwater and be 100% fine and working. Penn reels has always been a work horse and the drag is smooth. Both of the round knob are good, I prefer the metal knob.

This is a smooth reel for Penn’s and water tight. Feels perfect with my Penn Battalion II 7’ Medium Extra Fast rods and kills the local Florida Redfish.
Love these Legalis reels, best reel for the money at this price point in my opinion. They just feel nicer than the Shimanos in the same price bracket. I also have the 6000D for my rock fishing. Can't reccomend enough, you won't be disappointed.
Good reel especially at price point. unhappy with quiet drag, my other 4000s aren’t quiet so possibly a one off.
Advertised product was not available either instore or online. Very poor performance Anaconda, you either have the product and advertise it or if you can’t have sufficient stock don’t advertise it at all.
I fish almost exclusively for inshore stripers with lures. This type of fishing involves constant casting and puts a reel to the test. The Penn Authority has impressed me as a worthwhile upgrade to the Slammer III, IV and DX. The weight balances well with lures in the 1/2 oz +/- range.So far,, I’ve had no line roller noise, smooth, clunk free retrieve and reduced wind knots. The drag starts smoothly and maintains consistent resistance. It responds to hard hits and long runs. When set properly, it aids in reducing hook pullouts.Once you own a Penn Authority you won’t want to fish with anything else.
Great reel. A bit of free play in the pin through handle as it’s not a screw in one, although if that doesn’t bother you then you should definitely consider purchasing this reel. It’s the best in its class by far. Extremely smooth!
no instructions in box ,came with nice extra handle but it loosened first cast no tool to fix it? the bail closes on casting overall the cheaper reels worked better
