The board is very sturdy and gives a much smoother ride than a 22" penny board so it is great for beginners. I first rode on the 22" and it was just as fine but less space for my feet but it is more convenient to carry but the 27" is also light weight. The color is much darker in real life than in the photos, its not the light green as depicted more like a teal color? But the shipping was very fast, it came in five days and it came in a normal brown box so nobody was tempted to steal it. I was able to track my order very easily and see where it was headed. I gave this four stars because of the color difference and also the "paint" was kinda chipped which was disappointing because a big selling point of the stringer was the stripes on the back. :( 27" aka nickel ... MoreThe board is very sturdy and gives a much smoother ride than a 22" penny board so it is great for beginners. This board looks great online, and even more stunning in person. The livery is a unique balance of vibrance and subtlety. I own a 22" Penny, and I must say that the 27" Nickel is my absolute favorite between the two. It's large enough to comfortably perform tricks, yet small enough to tote around in-hand or throw in a backpack. The flexibility/malleability of the deck creates a smooth and fluid ride experience that is unmatched by any wooden counterpart. Overall, the craftsmanship and quality of this deck will have me coming back for more. Way to go Penny!

Awesome! Great quality and price.

Couldn't go wrong with it. Great quality, great looks and super sturdy. I have seen it at another store, but Tilly's had a better deal on it. Really happy with the purchase. Great delivery time, great price and great product quality. So far I've bought most of my Christmas shopping in this store. Thanks Tilly's.

Breath taking

The board has incredible grip! It feels like I'm riding a cloud, to be honest. The colors are beautiful and even better in person! When you ride the skateboard it can ride over rocks and do more tricks, unlike the 22" penny. same wheels, but the board size makes an amazing difference. It's perfect for beginners, I'd say ideal if you're looking into cruisers. I'm 5'0 and you'd think that the board would look big, or feel uncomfortable to ride at this height and being lightweight, but it fits me quite well. I'm surprised! It's very well durability and it's capable of many things. I do suggest not to ride it in puddles, it can rust the bolts and bearings. Otherwise, it's great!

First penny
21 September 2022

This is my first penny and my first attempt at “skating” (I’d say more cruising) in general, so I don’t really know how valid my opinion could be. That being said, the Penny is beautiful, I love the colours, I love the material and the general feel to it, the shipping was fast and most importantly… I’m using this board every single day and I’m having heaps of fun with it!

Love it!

My daughter has a 22" inch glow in the dark Penny Board that she loves. Well, I'm 48 and have not been on a skateboard since I was 18. My daughter finally convinced me to try one of her other skateboards and to my surprise I was able to get back on it and not wipe out. So anyway, she then convinced me to try her small Penny board...I didn't wipe out, but being it's so small it was a lot harder to ride. So on a whim I decided to order the 27" Ice Penny Board to see if that was any easier to ride. I took it out the day it arrived and found it to be so much easier to ride. My daughter still prefers her 22" board, but I absolutely love the 27" Ice board! SO BOMB!
23 May 2020

I got my nickel (Stringer 27”) about two weeks ago and I’m already really great at it, considering I have no skating experience what so ever. This is a really great board for beginners or not! The colour is less pastel in person and more vibrant but I still really like it. The paint from the stripes though, tend to start to peel off after only a couple of uses but it’s ok because I know it’s going to start to wear and tear after a while anyway. Also, the shipping was really quick! I didn’t expect it to be so fast but it came in, in under a week! Over all, really great, would definitely recommend :)

Smoooth & beautiful
9 December 2021

I’ve wanted a skateboard for years at this point but I don’t know much about them and there are sooo many options I didn’t know here to start. I saw this one and fell in love with the colors and saw it fell under cruisers and that sounded right so I took the plunge! It rides sooo smooth and it’s the kind that leans great so you can change direction just by leaning side to side. I’m guessing that’s what “cruiser” means? Haha"Review Sweepstakes"

Smooth ride for a great price
24 April 2022

These boards are fun little zip-around rides for exploring a new city or for a lazy weekend of cruising. Great bearings, wheels and a flexible board make for smooth cruising without breaking the bank. It's a fun toy to take to the boardwalk at the beach or to use to cruise around town.

The best board for beginners
15 November 2019

I’ve always wanted to ride a skateboard. My problem was that I didn’t know which type. I watched many YouTube videos and many of them advertised that the nickel board was the best fit for beginners. I learned to ride this in about a week. It is super smooth and it is really stable. After learning how to ride the nickel board, it made riding the penny board so much easier for me. The color of this board is really nice. The stripes are a bit more creamy compared to the picture which is still nice. The wheels get dirty easily which is reasonable because the wheels are also creamy. I love my nickel board and I’ll probably buy another one next :D
