Although penrite claims this meets the zf lifeguard 6 specification it doesn't come close. My ford territory just reached 200k kms so I decided I should service the zf even though ford claims the zf is filled for life. On draining the old fluid it was in quite good condition and still transparent. The magnet in the pan also showed very little metal wear indicating a good transmission. On filling the transmission with the penrite bmv it was apparent the viscosity, colour and smell of the additives were quite different to the oem zf lifeguard fluid. After following oem fill procedure correctly, the car was driven for about 400 kms over that time the transmission was intermittently slipping and engaging/disengaging the clutches on light throttle. After following oem fill procedure correctly, the car was driven for about 400 kms over that time the transmission was intermittently slipping and engaging/disengaging the clutches on light throttle. The fluid level was checked and confirmed to be correct. Penrite technical support was called about the issue and they would not confirm if they actually tested the fluid on the road before releasing it on the market. I drained the penrite bmv and after 400kms the fuild is trashed and there is more metal on the pan magnet than after 200k kms. I replaced the penrite bmv with the oem zf lifeguard 6 fluid with a new filter to correct the problem. I know this stuff is cheaper than lifeguard 6, but it is definitely not not meet the same specification. The damage it will do to your transmission will soon outweigh and savings in fluid cost.

Used it for my SQ5 transmission service. No issues at all. Penrite always good quality.

Replaced fluid in BMW 'sealed for life' 8 speed ZF unit. Been over 20k kms with the Penrite oil and running XHP Stage 3 software on the gearbox. Performs great, even at nearly 180k kms now. Penrite is great value compared to paying over $500 for 8L of ZF Lifeguard fluid.

I have serviced all three of my Fords with ZF6 transmissions using this full synthetic ATS fluid. After bridge seal, valve body seals, mechatronic seal, new filter and steel pan, I install this fluid. Following carefully very specific filling procedures, involving monitoring of tranmission fluid temperature, multiple filler plug level checks, leveling of vehicle, running through gears and ensuring torque converter is primed full and all conditions are met you can rest assured this fluid will do its job. Remember the commonest reason for these transmissions to give problems is fluid level, they are very sensitive. Dont forget to drive it straight after an oil change, if it slips, or kicks hard it is usually underfilled.
I purchased 20 litres from supercheap at a great price and continue to use this product. I have used this on all 4 of my BF Fords and found it a very quick and efficient drop-in replacement for the more expensive lifeguard6 fluid. I note some people have had issues with using it but I know from experience that the ZF6 is an extremely touchy transmission when it comes to filling and commissioning after a new pan, mechatronic sleeve, bridge seal and valve body seals, and sometimes torque converter empty and refill, not to forget the oil cooler being replaced at the same time in alot of instances. So most of the issues those people are experiencing is due to incorrect oil levels, slipping and poor engagement after an oil change is due to not enough oil in system and the normal operating pressure within the transmission is not high enough. All of my Fords are still going strong with this fluid and they have all done over 300,000 kms, my 06 BF1 Fairmont Ghia 340,000 and my 06 BF XR6T 350,000 kms. Proof of concept and business case for use proven.
After 8 years and 70,000 ks thought it time to have the auto oil changed. Have driven over2.500 ks with Penrite BMV and found the Transmission to operate very smoothly in all operations. Excellent value for money.
As the title says, nothing special but… Thanks to the discount I received through my NRMA card it was cheaper than what my mechanic mate could get it for. :)
According to penrite website this was right oil for ZF territory 6 SPD. One change (50% of the oil) resulted in huge difference to g/box smoothness, removed the cluckiness that I'd lived with since last service (70k ago) at a service centre. Highly recommended for ZF box
Bought this oil to change the fluid on my 240C Mercedes. I phoned Penrite to check because Mercedes advise only to use the Mercedes oil from the dealer. I checked that the Penrite conforms to the Mercedes standard and it's marked on the Penrite container. It works perfectly even though it's a different colour. Brown instead of green. Saves about 50% off the dealer price.Thank you Penrite.
Works flawlessly in my ZF8HP45 with 220000Kms. I thought changing the fluid may introduce some slippage, but it's going super smooth.
