The item arrived safely. Recommended by artists for fine details so I wanted to try and I am satisfied with itm The quality is great, for the price it reached my expectations. Feels premium. Heavier than regular mechanical pencils so it'll take some time getting used to it. Doesn't come with the original plastic packaging because it's sold without one or bought in bulk I guess, most sellers also do not provide the original packaging so it's fine 🤷‍♀️ delivery is fast, service is good.

This pencil is great. It's built very nicely and looks sleek in hand. I even ordered one for my friend for her birthday since she loves mine so much. While I do love this pencil and its look, I find myself not reaching for it very often. The tip retraction system is super nice, I love it, but it is quite loud, which should be noted especially if you like toying with it in class or if you finish a test and retract the tip. If it's for personal use, it's nothing to care about. The tip retraction system is also super quick, which some people might not like. This pencil is very heavy too and can be uncomfortable to write with because of that and the grip. Speaking of, I don't like the way the grip has texture with rubber, it's more uncomfortable than if it were just ... MoreThis pencil is great. It's built very nicely and looks sleek in hand. If you don't like long pencils, beware. Other than that, it's a great pencil, I just find myself reaching for my Rotring 600 more since it's more comfortable to hold and use, but for the price, this is a really good pencil and worth trying out.

Instead of using this for drafting, I've been using it as an edc pencil as a compliment to my fountain pens. I have used one for the past six years. ONE. Not multiple, not one of each sized lead...one...in 0.5mm.. Hands down, I would recommend anyone buy one. I have used so many plastic pencils in the past that I could fill a house because they could not withstand the use and abuse I put my writing instruments through. I have bad bouts of butterfingers at times and pens and pencils will fall and get stepped on, kicked, and tripped over. I bought mine at a local store before I found Jetpens...the writing on the side is chipping, the sticker denoting the lead size just came off, and the eraser and lead has been replaced multiple times. And it just keeps working. It ... MoreInstead of using this for drafting, I've been using it as an edc pencil as a compliment to my fountain pens. I have used one for the past six years. ONE. I've been using these exclusively for about ten years now, having tried out may. They're extremely comfortable to write with: perfect balance, easy grip, nice length. The clip isn't extremely sturdy, but it's sufficient. Sleeve retraction has been very reliable. Overall great pencil!
This is well balanced which made it nice to use even when taking long exams. I thought the retractable tip on a pencil would be a gimmick but it is actually really useful since you don't have to worry about damaging the tip while carrying it around. I've come to really appreciate this feature (especially after owning a Rotring 600 for some time). Also, I was worried that the retractable tip would wobble during use but that hasn't been an issue at all. The knurled grip feels good in hand; it allows for a good grip but doesn't uncomfortably dig into your skin. I was impressed with the overall build quality despite it having some plastic components.I don't really have any real complaints but if I had to nitpick then it would be that when retracting the tip, it feels ... MoreThis is well balanced which made it nice to use even when taking long exams. I was impressed with the overall build quality despite it having some plastic components.I don't really have any real complaints but if I had to nitpick then it would be that when retracting the tip, it feels like the tip is snapping back into the body too fast. I guess this comes down to personal preference since some people like how it is.
As an intermediate drafting pencil collector and person who's been drawing with mechanical pencils for a few decades, this is my favorite drawing pencil so far. The whole feel is great. The tip feels very precise; it has a nice, well-distributed weight to it; it's sturdy and doesn't make a peep even when you shake it wildly; and not to mention, the tip-retracting mechanism is very satisfying to activate.Nonetheless, it's not a perfect pencil. The aforementioned tip-retracting mechanism is reliant on a big bulky clip, so you cant remove it. This is annoying, as someone who considers themself pretty anti-clip for various comfort-related reasons. Also, while this pencil does have a very balanced-in-the-middle center of gravity because of this clip, I tend to find a ... MoreAs an intermediate drafting pencil collector and person who's been drawing with mechanical pencils for a few decades, this is my favorite drawing pencil so far. This is annoying, as someone who considers themself pretty anti-clip for various comfort-related reasons. Also, while this pencil does have a very balanced-in-the-middle center of gravity because of this clip, I tend to find a center of gravity closer to the tip to be preferable in terms of comfort. Now for the grip.. it's okay. I know it's supposed to be ultra special and cool (cough cough, over-engineered), but it just doesn't translate to a very useful grip. I can hold it vertically and it will pretty easily slip out of my fingers. I would prefer to just have some good old horizontally-grooved knurling, à la a staedtler silver series or something along those lines. Maybe the grip diameter could be a bit wider too. I know not a lot of pencils do that, but i think in general it equals out to improved ergonomics, and not to mention it would probably help make the tip feel even more precise.A small nitpick about the tip: I think it could retract just a few millimeters further into the barrel. As it currently stands, if you have much of any lead exposed past the pipe, it will probably extend out of the tip even when it's retracted. It would be extra convenient if I could maintain some lead past the pipe and still have it be protected while it's retracted, so I don't have to push it back in every time and it's ready the next time I want to draw or write. The pencil also lacks some bonus features, like rotating lead, but i've used those kinds of pencils and I've never really seen the real-world benefit of such a feature. Perhaps if I wrote more than I drew, I'd see it, or something, but I've always found it unnecessary, or even downright obtrusive in some instances. So this pencil not having it, not a big deal for me.All things considered, this is still my current fave and it's very comfortable to use. I just have to be extra-critical of it because of that, because it's so close to perfect and it's what I'm stuck with for now. It's a good pencil to be stuck with though, just could be better.
When you absolutely want a clear honest and consistent point to a pencil, this isone of my" go to "drawing instruments. It feels good in your hand, making you feel confident in the marks that will follow.I bought this particular pencil for my son. He spied mine and wanted one.He was impressed by the mechanism that protects the end of the point.BarryG.
Metal mechanical pencils hold up over time compared to plastic disposable ones, and also cause less hand fatigue during use. However, soke are too heavy for my smaller hands, or designed so the pencil lead breaks frequently. I’m loving this Pentel pencil - I’m a casual user but I tend to do all my most important writing in pencil so I can erase and edit when I need to, so needed something of this level. The retractable tip has actually been a really nice touch. I wasn’t sure I would like it, but I really do. I would retract the lead each time on my other pencils, so the routine is already built into me. This is my go-to pencil. I use it for everything from taking notes to drawing. I only wish the eraser lasted longer. They use up almost immediately with the usable part of the eraser left unused because of the poor design.
I have two of these. I refer to them as "field pencils", because I go out in the field and make engineering sketches with them of large equipment I frequently crawl on and around for access. I've broken plastic pencils before, leaning on them as I climb or something, these won't break. If dropped from up high, as long as the tip is retracted, it's good. They are heavy, but balanced. Might cause fatigue if writing a lot with them, but they are extremely tough. All metal. Being able to use and show different lead grades at a glance is great too. The grip isn't super soft, a mix between knurled and the oval knobs provide a slight cushion. These could very well outlast me, but probably would not handle a 15' drop on the tip to concrete. Then again, I wouldn't either, so ... MoreI have two of these.
