Love these two packs from Pentel. These are what we use for doing homeschool. And my daughter uses them for her anime drawings. They have a comfort grip for when using it. When we do few hrs of homework most pens pencils would hurt my fingers from gripping hard. They come with twist up eraser and a backup one. It is 0.5 mm fine lead and it has a container with extra lead. These are my go to pencils and I like them alot.

I am an accountant. I began working as one back before computers and used paper and pencil for my work. I tried a few other pencils and was not very happy with them. Then I found this Twist Erase pencil when it had no number(if I remember correctly). But for the past 40+ years this has, and will remain the only mechanical pencil I will use as long as Pentel continues to make them. I prefer the ones you can remove the pocket clip since I am a female and can’t use it for a shirt pocket. I highly recommend this pencil. And don’t forget, it has a really long eraser!

I've had a QE515-A for the last 4 years at least - i'm not entirely sure when I purchased it, but it was after getting frustrated with the cheaper options out there which tended to break, jam, or have terrible eraser quality. At between two and five extra bucks than the cheaper plastic models, this mech pencil is honestly the best purchase decision i've made.It is very sturdy, has a great feel in the hand, very rarely jams unless you're using the absolute cheapest refills out there which would jam up any other pencil regardless, and the stock eraser is good quality. It never slips, the mechanical action is slick and smooth and difficult to actuate accidentally, the grip hasn't showed any signs of perishing or degrading in the time i've been using it.I highly ... MoreI've had a QE515-A for the last 4 years at least - i'm not entirely sure when I purchased it, but it was after getting frustrated with the cheaper options out there which tended to break, jam, or have terrible eraser quality. Mine's still just as good as the day I got it, though I am due to get a refill for the eraser.

This is an excellent product. I do mechanical and architectural drawing and it the best pencil I have for a cheap price. It is a very practical, easy to use pencil, I have had it for three months, my dad fifteen years, the same pencil, still fully functional, not a crack in the plastic. You might say I just take really good care of it, I don't, trust me. I keep it in my backpack with my other mechanical pencils. My Cross Classic Century Medalist pencil has broken and been dented which, if you don't know is pretty hard with a metal pencil. That is also a good pencil I would recommend, but not for drawing. The grip is helpful unlike some of my pencils and is an overall good pencil. I would recommend for drawing or everyday use.
I've been using these for years, was super disappointed that Pentel stopped selling these at my store, the cheaper GT and other ones are garbage in use because of hurting me. This is a result of having to hold them as well as write with super light plastic bodies, the pencil friction makes the light plastic bodies hurtful for uses. The metal bodies on these are wonderful for uses, I love drawing, writing, and doing so much more with these as long as I can get them. My favorite size is the 0.7 because the tips are fine, but not too fine which means I can write with them BUT also draw with them. With pencils the lead has more friction with uses than ink does, the gel pen is an example of how people feel about working with friction pens & pencils. I have tried many mechanical pencils over almost 40 years and this is a very good design for a very decent price. There are slightly better ones but I lose them too often to afford them. And there are the extremely cheap ones that are crummy in every way. These have a decent heft and balance with a rubber cushion that's the right softness. The cushion is a bit too far from the tip for my grip but they always are. The clip is all plastic but it is well designed. The click advance works really well like most Pentels. The tip does not retract on this model which may be a disadvantage but I've found that the retractable ones waste a lot of lead at the end of each piece. The best part is the eraser. The tip does not retract on this model which may be a disadvantage but I've found that the retractable ones waste a lot of lead at the end of each piece. The best part is the eraser. The twist eraser is fantastic, it's the best I've ever used. It holds a nice long piece (a bit more than an inch of usable length), you just twist it to advance or retract, and it stays put when you erase (some other models retract back in when you start trying to erase). But they really blew it in their choice of eraser material. It's not awful, but it's mediocre. I don't know what is wrong with the people at Pentel; they have the greatest eraser material in the universe in their Clic Eraser and they use it in some of their mechanical pencils but not this one for some crazy reason. Instead this one uses a material that is more like the old pink erasers on wood pencils. But good news, you can get the Click Eraser refills and by just trimming off the end a bit they fit right in this one. That together with the regular Pentel high polymer lead (which is what these come loaded with) gets you the ability to write with a clear dark line but erase it easily and cleanly to the point that you can no longer see it! That's why I use these mechanical pencils. So great job Pentel! Now could you just change the eraser material to your other variety?
I've used this pencil the first day of October, and I gotta say, Pentel makes the best mechanical pencils ever! I used to write with Paper Mate mechanical pencils, but I just got rid of them later because the blue marking on my last Paper Mate pencil ever kept coming off as time went on. The Pentel Twist-Erase III will solve this problem as it's more high-quality than mechanical pencils made by Paper-Mate and BiC.When it comes to Pentel, I prefer 0.5 mm lead as it's finer than 0.7 mm lead and 0.9 mm lead.
This pencil with a solid plastic barrel (no cushion grip) would be a 5 star plus. It has the large twist erase, strong metal pocket clip, nice size, proportions, and simplicity. Besides cushion grips going soggy with time, they are terrible when doing mechanical work with grimy hands. Please bring back the straight black plastic barrel from 20 years ago. Keep the stronger more durable metal tip.
I am going strong with a Twist-Erase III I bought in high school, at least 10 years ago. It is still, after having tried lots and lots of alternatives, the best pencil I own. Rugged build, elegant design, excellent ergonomic fit in the hand (much better than the Pentel Sharp, for instance), and unbeatable eraser size and longevity. My only complaint is that the maroon color is quite difficult to get a hold of nowadays. Pentel has offered lots of cool colors, but only seems to sell them through third-parties (namely, an A-to-Z mega-conglomerate that shall not be named...). But aesthetics aside: buy this pencil. It doesn't get better than this.
This pencil has it all. The rubber grip makes it easy to hold. The twist-up eraser is high quality and does a good job. Extra leads are stored in the barrel. It is available in different lead sizes (I prefer the .9). AND I was able to purchase it in PURPLE - a deep saturated purple that makes me happy every time I pick it up to write. I bought 5.
