I love the size and way the system works. This is my 2nd one. My only complaint is the quality of the grass. It's sparse and comes out from the backing easily. It used to have better quality turf that was thick and soft this is hard and cheap looking. I will be looking for different turf at the hardware store but would still recommend for people who can't take their dog outside because of the design.

My wife and I bought this for our 23lb frenchie, and it's been perfect so far. We live in a condo with an outside deck which is where the potty goes.We'd previously trained our frenchie on a "flat" artificial turf potty, but cleaning that one was a pain because there was no where for the urine to go plus the whole thing quickly smelled terrible.We then moved to a real grass solution. That was ok, but if you don't replace them every 2 weeks they become a mud bath. The cost adds up and dealing with the heavy sod every couple of weeks isn't much fun.We moved onto this last. Overall, I like this product. It really lacks in a few areas. First, the clips that are supposed to hold the turf in place are junk. The first time a puppy touched one, it fell off, creating a hazard for the puppy. Second, the turf edges are not sealed, so they keep fraying. I need to go buy more turf, shut it to size, seal edges, then alternate with this one and seal this one also. Fourth, the company has a spray to attract the dog to use this unit. Unfortunately, it is not included. I would happily have paid a bit more for this to be a finished product.

I bought this for my almost 14 y/o husky/German Shepard mix. He is aprox 60 lbs. I bought the large because he is starting to have issues holding it through the night or when we leave for more than a few hours. I set it up last night and woke up to find that he used it! I did show it to him and had him stand on it, the frame is well constructed and did not cave in like some reviews stated. The grass does have an odor, but hopefully that goes away. Prefer a faint odor to stepping in a puddle first thing in the morning!The step up is about 4 inches which was more than I was expecting. My dog isn’t much of a leg lifter in his old age, so I’m assuming he squatted over the grass. I bought this for my puppy (small) only one week ago and it already smells. It's not very easy to clean either, it says to pour warm water on it daily which we do but it makes the urine smell more potent. This also makes puppy's paws wet every time he steps on it so he leaves wee all over the house. The tray is easy to remove and refill which is good and handy, so is the grass. My puppy also didn't like the grass as it's quite rough so I had to purchase a different type of fake grass so he would use it. Recommend putting a potty pad underneath the grass to capture the wee otherwise it just sits in the compartment underneath and this starts to smells. I understand it's intended use and it may work for other dogs but not for mine.
We live in a loft space that’s up 70 stairs! Our older dog negotiated this fine, however we adopted a 6 mos old puppy and needed a potty training option. This was perfect for our odd deck of the former fire escape at our place. Our puppy transitioned from the bark pad to this instantly. It’s a great option when you want to keep it outside, so need a sturdy, waterproof design. There is additive that you can use to turn the urine into a solid, but I just empty the catch basin daily, and dump it in the toilet. You can remove the astroturf mat for cleaning. We got the largest size for our now 9.5 mo old pitbull puppy, and it’s plenty big. It’s a great product and a great value.
It's been over a week and I can't convince my 7 year old Cairn Terrier to use it.I tried adding smells from other dogs (plants they peed on), but no luck. The ASTRO turf is very course and rough and not pleasant to walk on.Any suggestions out there? We are visiting my son and his dog who just moved into a townhouse in L.A. and it's a longish walk to the street.Thanks. I can't recommend it until I can get it to work.

We have a large, but hardscaped, yard, so we bought this before we brought him home at 10 weeks because we thought it would be difficult to get him to want to use the gravel. However he refused to use the Pet Loo, even when we put him on it mid-accident. He would get off and finish his business on the gravel. A couple of weeks later, our pup is just about housebroken, but still wants nothing to do with the loo. It is significantly raised from the ground, which can be daunting for a little pup. I don't know how she figured it out so quickly but within a day and a half she was trained with a very rare accident when she is playing hard with it other dog. I wash in shower once a week. Soaking with hot water and the potty loo cleaner. I have two of the fake grass so I can interchange them. I do lift the fake grass once or twice a week and wipe any urine then spray the cleaner.
