Petzl - Am'D Ball Lock
Petzl Am'D Ball-Lock Locking carabiner grey/black - Visible safety is what the Am'D Ball-Lock by Petzl has to offer. The D-shaped carabiner features the practical ball lock closure. This system requires you to push the green button on the closure to open the carabiner. Therefore, the probability that the closure will open by accident is extremely low. At the same time, a quick look is enough to see whether the carabiner is locked correctly. When the button turns green, everything is safe. This system is particularly suitable for activities that require you to lock and unlock the carabiner frequently, i.e. sports climbing in the hall and on the rock. The advantage of the D-shape is the easy handling during 180° turns. Those parts of the carabiner under permanent stress are somewhat thicker while the low stress areas are somewhat thinner (which saves weight). The area that holds the rope is considerably thicker than the rest of the Am'D Ball-Lock. Enjoy the climb!

I bought several of these carabiners and they are awesome! They are very durable and I haven’t had one issue with them at all. The twist lock is a safety feature that ensures the gate doesn’t open accidentally in any recreational or professional use. I highly recommend the Petzl Am’D Twist-Lock Carabiner!

This carabiner has been around for a while for a good reason. Good quality dependable lightweight and affordable. Great every day carabiner for most uses. I did notice that they changed the finish slightly on the new ones but doesn’t seem to matter at all.

I purchased this biner a couple months back. I'm extremely happy I went with carabiner. Having the TriLocking technology has really put my mind at ease with climbing. The usability of the carabiner is quick, easy, and precise. Being able to combine the highest level of safety, and extremely fast and easy use is my number one goal in climbing. This carabiner definitely aids in that pursuit. Highly recommend.

Love my Am’D Triact carabiners! Use them almost daily and they still look and feel like new. The gate is as smooth as day one, and the triple action security is second nature. Available in multiple shapes as well.
I’m a homeowner with a couple acres who does a little side work for friends and neighbors. I have 6 different types/brands of carabiners, and the Petzl Am’D carabiners are the ones I reach for and use the most. I don’t have a complicated technical reason; they all work just fine. These ones just seem to fit my hand and operate the smoothest. They have a good multi-purpose shape. I’ve never been up a tree with one of these and thought “wish I would have grabbed a different carabiner.”
Can’t beat it for the price. I’ve used this carabiner for a little over a year and a half in a professional capacity for my climbing line. Now I use this same carabiner for my side work. Completely safe and I trust it with my own life To hold me aloft
Just got this headlamp last week. Works well. I am used to the old material they used for the headbands years ago. This elastic is a slippery-er material and slides around a bit and I need to crank the headband tight to keep them secure and it becomes uncomfortable. It could just be the shape of my melon. I'll get used to it. Only other ding is the price. Expensive for a flashlight on a headband. This headlamp is so wonderful, it is exactly what I wanted it is perfect and back country gear has the best price and perfect service and super fast shipping and such helpful and friendly staff.
As an arborist, working requires locking carabiners and snaps. I have been using the Am’d for as long as there has been a locking option. I have seen many changes over the years. This is my favorite incarnation by far. It is lighter than many other auto lockers, and this version of the ball lock is my personal favorite. The double auto locking ball is useable with gloved hands, which previous versions struggled to accommodate. I can refer the ball lock over the triact version due to the way they wear. I have had the triact fail to close when they get the older. This appears to be because of wear on the pin that aligns the key lock. This is a minor annoyance for me, because it is still usable for recreation. The size is versatile. Super nice. The action is super crisp and didn't have any grit or anything like other carabiners I've used.I personally really like this shape as it allows me to position my climbing hitch properly so that my anchor knot doesn't catch my prusik as frequently which was more of an issue when using oval carabiners.
Great device with multi action for safety assurance. Was a great choice to have made in buying. Thank you. Tree stuff for my every order. My work is made easier by using products purchased from Tree Stuff Company. Good equipment makes for easy work.
