I bought these helmets to replace our Petzl Elios helmets used for our public canopy tour. I wanted something that met ACCT standards, had great protection for our participants, had a lot of ventilation, and was easy to clean. The Boreo fit the bill. Plus, it has the Petzl name and quality. We only replaced our last ones because they reached their 10 year life and had to be retired.

Received this very quickly. The fit is as expected and is comfortable to wear. There are four clips for a headlamp mount. The clips are low profile which is useful for caving as you’re in some pretty cramped spaces. I don’t have any suggestions for improving the design of this helmet. It works well for my intended use.

Nice helmet for the price. Not the most comfortable, but it makes it for short climbing routes. I wouldn't wear this on a multipitch.

Love how adjustable the rear support system is, The helmet is able to tighten down without creating any hot spots or pressure points. Super secure and doesn't shift around as I found while trying on other helmets. This helmet is much lower profile than some of the others I have tried on, which I love. Ended up buying my girlfriend the Borea as she was unhappy with the other options for female helmets being too loose and unsupported.
Picked this up for difficult routes and belaying. Honestly, haven't had to use it yet, but I don't have any reason to think it wouldn't work! The rear adjustment is really nice, I like it better than other helmets with a knob style adjustment. If purchasing again, I'd go with the smaller size to better fit my head. Seems to leans toward the larger side of the rated size range.
Had a moose fall on my head while climbing the sick mountains out in FL and this thing sure did it’s job well—my head still works, but my truth telling is another story.Anyhow—rad comfy helmet that does it’s job. I suggest the white one so your head doesn’t get overly hot on those warm send days, unless you’re an ice climber—in which case, you’ll probably go with the black, but with whichever you go, you’ll be sure to be satisfied with the performance and weight of this helmet.
Really nice helmet, light, compact, comfortable, and versatile. Great quality, easy adjustment, good fit, and open airy ventilation in just the right spots. Great price at Moosejaw also!
This is a great helmet and it does just what it's supposed to do! It's reasonably comfortable, it's reasonably lightweight and it's reasonably priced. No, it's not super light but I didn't want to trade weight for durability. I'm not particularly concerned about fashion but the Boreo sits low enough on my head that it doesn't look dorky and the orange color is bold enough that it's not boring. The Petzl Boreo is just right! Buy it!
Really great update to a classic. Better ventilation and coverage with the same durability and usability as the original. The rear elastic band is also a nice upgrade that can hold a headlamp or goggles in place. Versatile, affordable, durable, with increased comfort and safety!
Coming from a MTB background, we're lucky enough to be spolit for choice in helmets. While climbing helmets are catching up with technology and we're starting to see helmets with MIPS and other tech, I would say this helmet is going to save your bacon from a rock or moderate wall impact. Definitely has enough energy absorption foam for a hard impact.
