I bought these C3 heads not knowing which of the heads "W3," "C3," or "G3" would be the stiffest. These are just too stiff for me and kind of hurt my mouth. Because I bought the black Sonicare toothbrush, I want the brushhead to be black as well. I searched and searched on Philips website for comparison charts to show which bristles are softest, but could not find anything. Finally, when I acted like I was wanting to compare the three different types for purchasing, it showed that the "W3" and "C3" are considered "MEDIUM SOFT," while the "G3" is considered "SOFT." So I will now order and try the G3. You may personally find the C3 bristles are not too stiff for you, but for me, they really are.

My husband and I have been using Sonicare toothbrushes for many years. We buy our replacement brush heads at Costco. Recently, the brush heads were redesigned and there are two issues that we find very annoying. The first is the brush cover. Unlike the old one that fit completely over the top of the brush, the new one clips on the front only. The connection is very tentative and ours are always falling off, especially when traveling. This drives us both crazy. The other issue is that every brush head is identical. They used to come with little colored rings that you could put on to distinguish one brush from another. No longer. Now, when traveling especially, we are constantly trying to figure out which brush is whose. Please consider returning these two features to the previous designs.

Does a good job of cleaning. Head is a little larger than other sonicare heads which means you cover more area for the same brushing effort but getting into the corners is not quite so easy. Double the price of other sonicare heads, so not very good value for money (hence I knocked a star off the review). I bought some C2 Optimal Plaque Defense heads at the same time, I prefer those.

I love Sonicare compared with Oral B, but I just bought a mega pack of these toothbrush heads from Costco and after feeling how hard the bristles feel (despite being labeled soft), I'm afraid it was all a waste. These bristles may be "soft" but they feel decidedly hard. My past experience with hard toothbrushes has resulted in major and permanent gum recession. It's an experience I will avoid at all costs. Sonicare should convey if this is NOT the case and how they managed to make a hard-feeling toothbrush head, be actually safe.
I have used Sonicare toothbrushes over 20 years. I researched replacement heads for my Diamond Clean pink edition with AdaptiveClean brush head. I read many reviews and found out that the AdaptiveClean brush head is no longer available, so I looked at options and found that although there were complaints about sensitivity and the firmness of the C3, it was my best option. I have been using the C3 for two weeks and find that the reviews I was cautioned by are true for me as well. I love my Sonicare, but the C3 replacement heads are too firm and the size is too large for the mouth. Please, if you must, make some modifications, but please bring back the AdaptiveClean brush head.
After having used the basic whitening toothbrush head that came with the toothbrush, I wanted to try something more premium to see if it has any difference. However, I was deeply disappointed with this one. It is so much more expensive and I literally see no value in buying compared to their cheaper ones. It says 4 times more surface contact, but it actually feels like a bulky think in your mouth with zero flexibility that does not clean many areas around teeth after feeling it with the tongue. I was surprised to see so many positive reviews when it is actually worse than their basic heads. I will definitely not be buying this anymore!
In regard to removing plaque - an outstanding product! The negative experiences came, unfortunately thereafter. The first head lasted 3 mnth, the second ten weeks, the 3rd 8 weeks and the 4th a bit more than 6 weeks. All head the same problem the green brush on the top falling off! Sorry but this must be a construction issue.
I have used these brush heads for a couple of years now. They get my teeth really clean and have helped my gum disease a lot. My checkups are really good now and my teeth feel great. They are a little firmer than mushy toothbrushes but that's the beauty. They are just form enough without causing gum damage.
I'll start with the good. This brush head certainly cleans. It cleans where it can get to, that is. It also seems to last longer than other heads. Now for the bad. The overall size of the head makes it more difficult to get into tight areas, especially around the back teeth. I find myself working harder to maneuver it around them which leads to more pressure being applied. My mouth is definitely not small. The bristles are also on the hard side. The website lists them as being "medium soft". Perhaps the outermost bristles are softer, but the majority seem almost certainly medium at the softest. Since the brush head is so large it's almost impossible to keep from assaulting my gums with these stiffer bristles. As for stains, my dentist and hygienist have said soft bristles used in conjunction with a sonic toothbrush will also remove superficial surface stains with repeated use. Tougher ones can be removed with routine cleaning. Please stop marketing damaging heads in the name of sales.
I've been using Sonicare for over 25 years and have tried many models and various brush heads, both genuine OEM brands and knock-off brands through Amazon. The C3 seems to clean the best and is the most comfortable to use. That said, I've seen some reviews say they prefer a smaller head, in which case I would suggest the G3, but I personally do not like the slim heads for ease of brushing. The knock-off brands don't seem to clean as well and they do not last nearly as long. The C3 seems to last longer than any other head I've used (note that I use the UV cleaner regularly). Highly recommend despite the higher price point.
