The Philips Sonicare 3100 series sonic toothbrush thoroughly removes everyday dirt and plaque while being gentle on enamel and gums. The sonic sweeping motions combined with a vibration speed of 31,000 strokes per minute cause strong vibrations of the bristles, which create microbubbles in the interdental spaces and along the gum line. They protect against plaque build-up and provide an additional feeling of freshness after brushing. Philips Sonicare Series 3100 - brushing under control Fast vibrations cause strong vibrations of the brush fibers, but are completely safe for enamel and gums. For even better care, the Philips Sonicare 3100 series toothbrush is equipped with a pressure sensor, which reduces vibrations and emits a pulsating warning sound when the brush is pressed too hard on the tooth surface. This feature helps protect teeth and gums and contributes to better brushing. The toothbrush is also equipped with a SmarTimer that counts down 2 minutes from the start of brushing, and the QuadPacer gives a signal every 30 seconds to change the side of the mouth. The ergonomic handle makes the toothbrush fit well in the hand and its use is very easy. For the best performance of the tip, the handle has a special icon that informs you when it needs to be replaced. For people who have never used a sonic toothbrush before, the creators of the Philips Sonicare 3100 series toothbrush have developed a special Easy-Start program that allows you to gradually increase the intensity of brushing during the first 14 uses.

Best Electric Toothbrush!

I had such a hard time deciding between an Oral B and Phillips Sonicare electric toothbrush. Watched a ton of videos, reviews, checked Reddit, etc. I wanted to make sure I made the best investment possible. I also didn’t want to spend over $100 because that’s just so much money for a toothbrush. I can confidently say this is amazing! The very first time I used it my teeth felt amazing. I would genuinely recommend brushing your teeth with your manual toothbrush and run your tongue across your teeth to see how they feel. Then brush with this toothbrush and NOTICE how clean and smooth they actually are. I promise this is the best and most affordable choice. I hope this helps someone out!

I’ve had a number of Sonicare toothbrushes over the years in this price bracket, always loved them. This one is not as good. Not as robust and vibrating head not the same quality. The Eco USB charger may suit some people, but means I can’t charge in my bathroom socket. Making the product last longer will reduce waste product not making it smaller and less robust. Price of other Sonicare models seem ridiculous and range of brush heads difficult to navigate. Sonicare have a good long lasting product at its core, maybe need to reduce range and concentrate on quality again.

Excellent for plaque, tartar and general hygiene.

This is a sonic toothbrush, which cleans your teeth SO much better than conventional electric brushes. And the charge lasts a long time. the charge lead is a USB so much easier to plug into your multiple phone charger or wallsocket than finding a continental adaptor. I had a gum issue - the gum was inflamed - and I have cured it through the thorough cleaning action of the sonic toothbrush. My teeth are cleaner too! My crown was starting to yellow (tea staining), but now it is perfectly clean and stain free. Highly recommend!

Excellent product

First time user of this type of toothbrush. Feels different in use and may highlight some sensitivity in teeth/gums but as the dentist says - use a sensitive toothpaste. In use sounds noisy but if you notice the upper and lower teeth sound different - you get bone transmission of sound with the upper teeth so sounds louder, but actually OK and not intrusive sound to others. Usage time between charges is very good, though so far despite a long charging time the indicator has never changed to a non-flashing LED. Most important I think is download the PDF manual - the enclosed small 'get you started' leaflet and tiny illustrations doesn't tell you what you need to know about how to use it.

It's good toothbrush but...

I'm going to give this thing three stars. Here's why, One of the best things about this product is that it has a really great battery life. I could charge it once and won't have to charge it again for another month. I've owned it for several months and thats one thing thats been pretty impressive. now what's not impressive about it I have no idea what this pressure sensor is, it doesn't feel any different and honestly I don't think that it's even a thing that's in this brush at all, another thing that's pretty annoying about it is that you can press the button and it gives you two different settings however there's no difference between the two settings. I could use it in both settings and not feel any difference in how fast it's vibrating or anything else it's just ... MoreI'm going to give this thing three stars. I think if you put a button there should be a difference between the two. Other than that it's pretty good, I don't know if I would buy it again, I'd probably go with the one step up or something, this was technically a step down from the other Phillips sonicare to first that I purchased, I dropped it and it stopped working so I bought this one in a pinch. if you're thinking about buying this one you might as well just buy the one step down that doesn't have any "variable speeds" because that's basically what you're buying with this one is a single speed.

Not an improvement on the older models.
24 February 2024

Bought this electric toothbrush to replace my old Philips model which I bought over 6yrs ago. The old one was definitely a 5 star model. The new one is much lighter in weight, so a slight benefit if taking a plane trip. However this new model is round and difficult to hold firmly, especially, if as I do, suffer from a mild lack of dexterity. The battery only lasts approximately 4 weeks on full charge, my old model lasted at least 6 weeks. The on/off button is difficult to locate by touch only, as the design tends to be overall more streamlined than the original models.Summing up I don’t think they have improved from the original model.

Really impressed by the innovative features!
11 October 2021

As someone who loves to take care of my oral health and likes to keep up to date with the latest and greatest innovations in toothbrushes and oral care products in general, I can assure you that my thoughts on this product come from an experienced, thoughtful, and caring perspective. I was pleasantly surprised and impressed by the ease of use that this product offers, it's minimalistic features and design are truly original and unique and make it a perfect product for just about anyone to use, as you can hardly manage to misuse the item in any way, especially when you take into consideration it's really neat "alerting" feature that alerts/buzzes whenever you are applying too much pressure to your brushing. I thought this was a really cool aspect of this toothbrush. Another thing that really stood out as an innovative feature for electric toothbrushes to me for this product was, how the toothbrush is factory set to a specific intensity level, which gradually over the course of the first few weeks of use is increased, allowing you to become more and more comfortable adjusting to the type of brush cleaning that it offers. And Phillips take this feature a step further by offering you the option to disable and set the sensitivity level yourself, if you choose to do so. But what really blew me away about this product was the 4 area-based, timed cleaning function, which prompts you to go from the 4 different corners of your mouth, brushing for 30 seconds in each area, beeping an alert for you to change, before completing your recommended 2 minutes of brushing. This just makes things so easy! Lastly, I can't tell you enough just how impressed I am by the battery life and ease of charging that this product offers!! I've been using it for about 2 weeks now and still have not had to recharge the toothbrush. But when you do need to charge it, it just magnetically attaches to its base. So easy, the base is small, and convenient to place just about anywhere too! I love it! I can't recommend this product enough! Please note: I did receive this product for free as a part of product testing but that in no way impacts my honest review!

Unfortunately great until a year later
14 September 2023

Made the switch from a normal toothbrush and loved it. Really easy to use, feels squeaky clean after the full 2 minute timer. Unfortunately it’s now been a little over a year and it seems the inside mechanism is falling apart/leaking brown and black residue that stains my sink ceramic. It looks like rusty water or black oily sediment comes out of it when I turn it upside down or lay it sideways after brushing. I really wanted to like it and use it for a long time but it seems like my unit wasn’t really made too well. The problem started when I noticed a louder noise from the previously quiet motor; the metal tip started wiggling a little and you could feel the inside pieces wiggle with the tip, producing a ridiculously loud rattle during usage. WOW!

This brush does ALL THE WORK!My old battery-operated tooth brush was a pain, slow, %26 delicate.Sonicare is easy %26 rechargeable. I simply add toothpaste then slowly move the brush head to every tooth inside %26 out to let the unit clean every area. The brush stops when cleaning reaches about 3 or 4 minutes. The experience is massaging too. My gums are cared for gently when brushing. The only concern is replacement brush heads: the price is high, about $4 to $7 dollars.Luckily, Sonicare recommends changing brush heads every 3 months or so.I recommend this toothbrush fully.
