The product does exactly what what I expected. It's like, runs well on a single charge, cuts hair quickly and easily without pain. It is quiet, my previous corded shaver was also very good, but also needed regular oiling. I never needed to change/replace the blades if I did this properly. Time will tell whether this shaver, with supposedly almost zero, (except for cleaning hair for maintenance) self-sharpening blades, without using oiling will last as long. After only one usage, at the moment it seems very good and of good quality.

I have owned a succession of hair clippers, some corded, some cordless, various brands including Philips. None have really 'cut the mustard'. All seemed to be toys compared with the tools that professional barbers use. My last, a corded heavyweight item, was temperamental and finally failed completely.Reluctantly tried once more, this good-looking Philips unit, and couldn't be more delighted - it's a revelation in use. Easy to set cutting length, it cuts to the right length in one go, no need for multiple passes. And the cut hair falls away, doesn't clog the blades or combs. Brilliant design.

After reading a poor review due to the different shape of these clippers, I was apprehensive on purchasing but have not regretted buying. I find the clipper shape is great when cutting hair and no issues when trimming beard either. Cutting is clean and thorough with no snagging like my old cheap clippers. Self sharpening is great and super easy to remove parts for thorough cleaning. Cordless clipping is great, not having to cut hair close to power point and after many years IF the battery gives up then I can still use clipper on power cord. By far the best feature is built in comb depth guide. The short comb stays on the clippers and I just adjust between 3 for Beard and 6 for hair! Perfect! I’ve been clipping my own hair and beard for 20 years, so I’ve been through a ton of trimmers. This one is a game changer. Not only does it cut my hair clipping time in half, it does a much more thorough job. And in the past I’ve always had to “dig in” so hard that it would drive little hairs into my scalp and cause sores. But this clipper has a feather touch. You barely have to press at all for it to give a clean cut.And the adjustable guards are the best ever. You can use one guard for a wide range of lengths with the turn of a dial. It’s just the best I’ve ever used in my life by a very wide margin. I will NEVER use another clipper/trimmer for the rest of my life. They’ve made a forever customer out of me for sure! Amazing product, Philips!!

Finely adjustable trimmer suitable for trimming any length of hair, and the usual great Philips quality.My only caviat to the above recommendation, is that the trimmer comes with basic instructions, with more detailed instructions only available online. I mention this as, like most men, I rarely read instructions, and initially assumed the smallest comb was for the shortest trim.That was true, but not in the way I thought. Using the smallest comb cut my hair really short, and no amount of turning the wheel on the trimmer had any effect on the comb. I got this clipper about a month ago. My intent was to use it for trimming body hair. After finally testing it I am finding an issue with the main clipper head. The moving 'blade' is so close to the stationary one that I very frequently get cut by this device. It's not practical to use a clipper that constantly cuts you. I didn't buy this to use with the attachments. There is no adjuster to change the cutting blade position. This seems to be a serious design issue. I have never had this issue with any other clipper.
I have been using Philips hair clippers for the last 15 years. Went through about 5 in all these years and remarkably they all had the same issue, that was the plastic spindle component ( which I think takes the most wear and tear). Luckily, Philips always honors their warranty and 3 of the 5 clippers were replaced. I threw out the other 2 worn out clippers. I would say use with care and do not expose to water. Do not also attempt to clean the internals of the clipper even if hair is stuck as this might damage the spindle.
Bought this product to replace the more expensive £100 model (which they wouldn’t / couldn’t repair) so based on the lower cost I thought I’d buy another Philips model. They have a misleading description that claims you can cut from 28 length settings (0.5–28 mm) this is totally misleading the consumer.What they don’t tell you is that you cannot cut the cutting lengths of 1mm and 1.5mm, x2 of the most popular cutting lengths. I don’t know what product misses these key cutting lengths but it makes these set of clippers utterly useless. They should put a warning on the description
