I bought this as an upgrade from an identical Philips body groomer which would no longer hold charge. I didn’t expect it to be much different but I have been pleasantly surprised. Of course it is heavier, being dual purpose but, it is well balanced, cuts well without snagging and the battery life is much improved. I haven’t used the hair trimmer yet, but it looks well put together and should work as effectively as the groomer.

Whilst the trimmer/clipper end of the groomer is very good, the shaver head is obscenely loud. It sounds more like a power tool than a body shaver! With that considered, I do not use the shaving head, and it is therefore just a very expensive clipper for me.I am surprised nobody else has mentioned this, perhaps mine is faulty? If anybody from Philips can comment on this that'd be great.

The unit itself is great and does exactly what it says it will do, the safety mesh has saved me from many nicks and gets the hair really close to the skin!It is quite heavy to what I expected but its functionality outweighs this negative. The water proof design makes cleaning the unit soooo easyThe only negative point I found was that it was shipped from Europe with a European plug which does not fit the Australian electrical system - I would suggest that better information on the unit at point of sale to indicate the type of plug would have been useful, it would not have changed my mind but it would have been nice to know up front.
I owned the first bodygroom that is notorious for battery issues. I mean, I say that, but it lasted about 5 years so can't really fault it. This new one lacks the fancy dock for charging and now requires plugging in... but I think I prefer that as I unplug it when it's done and it won't overcharge (which presumably killed the old one's battery).Feels a bit lighter/cheaper in the hand than the old one but works nearly identically as far as I can tell. I only use the shaving end as the grooming end is really weak compared to my hair/beard trimmer. Worth the price as these aren't expensive.

Some reviewers said that it doesn’t do well with beards, well it is not made for that. Others said go for the 5000 model, in my personal opinion if you have the money go with the 7000 because the body head takes longer time when the hair is long and this is when the other head comes very handy. Cut the long hair with the trimmer side then go closer with the body side and you won’t be disappointed. I have the older model of this bodygroomer...And decided to buy this model because the battery life on my older model was not lasting too long..This new model:1, I did not have to worry about the battery time..2, it gives a cleaner shave without any cuts on delicate parts of your body..The difference between these 2 models1, the older model adjustment comb let you go down to number 1, which the newer model only goes down to 3..2, the older model on the charge side of it had a stand which you just placed the bodygoomer in which was great... BUT the newer model you have to push the cable into the bodygoomer...

Love this product.I have used it to shave my 'personal' areas with no nicks or discomfort. It takes a little time and patience (and ideally a good mirror - haha) but it does work on my wrinkly bits in the 'personal area' leaving them lovely and smooth.Hoping this review isn't too full on, but I sense that's what most gentleman will be asking themselves when thinking about purchasing. I was a bit disappointed because it didn't come with a stand and for the price you are paying it should have come with a hard case.
