Although I primarily breastfeed my newborn, we occasionally give her a bottle when I leave her with grandma or my husband for a few hours. For this review, I fed her with the bottle myself so I could compare how different or alike it is to breastfeeding.Upon opening the box, I was impressed by the number of bottles (three 4 ounce bottles and two 8 ounce bottles), as well as the fact that they are made of glass. This is my second baby and with my first one, it was important to use glass bottles for my own personal reasons (I’m not a fan of using plastic bottles, especially when they have to be warmed up). This is my second baby and with my first one, it was important to use glass bottles for my own personal reasons (I’m not a fan of using plastic bottles, especially when they have to be warmed up). I had actually used the original Phillips Avent Natural glass bottles with my firstborn. When I inspected the nipple, I could immediately see the difference. These nipples have three little holes, mimicking a real breast that has several streams, not just one. I couldn’t wait to try them!Similarly to the original Natural bottles, they were super easy to clean and sterilize, which is always a plus. I pumped about three ounces of milk and was ready to give the bottle to my baby. It’s important to mention that with my firstborn, she wouldn’t take a bottle easily because she was used to being breastfed. This was fine when I was home with her, but when I had to leave her with someone else, it was always a gamble because sometimes she took the bottle and sometimes she refused. When she did take the bottle, it would take her a few tries to get a good latch. I wasn’t sure what to expect this time around. To my surprise and amazement, my newborn took the bottle immediately! She treated it like my own breast, and she started eating right away. I would remove the bottle from her mouth occasionally to burp her, and she burped right away, which also surprised me because when I usually burp her after a feed, it takes a few minutes. As the Natural Response Nipplepromised, she was only able to get milk out of the bottle when she was actively feeding. It didn’t just come spilling out, which is great because no breastmilk was wasted. I could her hear take big swallows, which is so important when making sure baby is actually getting enough milk. The Flow 2 nipples that were included in the box were perfect for her.I love the look and feel of the glass bottle. It might be a bit heavier than a traditional plastic bottle, but I think it’s worth it for the health and safety of my family. The two silicone sleeves (one for the 4 oz. and one for the 8 oz. bottles) were a nice addition, especially when the bottle needs to be warmed. Again, I pumped and immediately fed my baby specifically for this review, but the silicone sleeve will be used when grandma needs to feed her. The silicone sleeve was easy to put on the bottle, and I liked how the it had a space so you can see the measurements and how many baby is eating without having to remove the sleeve. If any breastfeeding mamas out there are looking for a bottle to give baby along with the breast, I highly recommend the Philips Avent Natural Newborn Glass Bottles. I will only be using these from now on!Thanks to the Stellar Product Testing Panel for providing me with this bottle set.

I was given this bottle set to try as part of the Stellar Product Testing Panel. For some context, I tried this product with my second baby, who is just over four months old and is mostly breastfed, but occasionally bottle-fed with pumped milk. My baby much prefers being breastfed, so she initially fussed when given this bottle (with the size 2 nipple). After a couple attempts including switching to the size 3 nipple, she did take to it and there didn't seem to be any issues with pausing to swallow and breathe. I think the wide shape of the nipple also helped. Before trying it out with my baby, I actually tested it myself (with water) and the nipple is really well-designed in that nothing comes out unless you actively suck on it. As for the bottles themselves, they seem to be made of thick, good quality glass. I was able to pump straight into the bottle with no issues as long as I was only doing one side. I didn't try pumping straight into two bottles using a pumping bra as that would've been too heavy for me. Although the bottles are easy enough to hold, I appreciated the silicone sleeves for even better grip as my baby has recently started flailing her arms and reaching for anything and everything during feeds! I thought the sleeves were well-designed with gaps in order to see the bottle measurements. The sleeve fits snugly on the bottle, so you just need to be careful when putting it on or taking it off. As for cleaning, it was easy enough cleaning the four parts (plus the sleeve) using standard bottle/nipple brushes and a sterilizer (I have the Avent one).To summarize:Pros - Quality glass bottles, wide nipple shape, leak-proof 'responsive' nipple design, silicone sleeves.Cons - Bottle cap isn't always the easiest to remove; only one silicone sleeve included for each bottle size.Would I recommend this bottle set to others? Absolutely!

He did drink from it but was annoyed by the flow I think.- for once daily use the product comes with 5 bottles and nipples which is a bit excessive for my needs (2 would’ve been sufficient for once daily use)…but if I sent pumped milk to childcare this would be ideal! Thanks to the Stellar Product Testing Panel for providing me with this bottle set.

The Philips Avent Natural Newborn Glass Bottle Baby Set is a fantastic starter kit for new parents. The glass bottles are made in the USA and appear of high quality. Over the past two months, it has been a challenge finding bottles with a nipple that he is willing to drink from. Though it will likely take a few more weeks of practice, he is willing to at least suck on the soft, wide Philips natural response nipples and has drank a few ounces of milk. Small victories! Also, as recommended in the included instructions, our baby seemed to prefer the slower-flow nipple as he is a more "enthusiastic drinker."The silicone sleeves are a clever accessory for this set as it makes the bottles less slippery to handle. From a tired mommy's perspective, these sleeves are a lifesaver if one drops the bottle (or if a cat accidentally knocks it over). One accessory that would have been useful in this kit is the inclusion of a lid that would allow us to seal the bottle and store milk in the fridge or for travelling. Thanks to the Stellar Product Testing Panel for providing me with this bottle set. I highly recommend this set to parents who prefer to use glass bottles, and these natural response nipples may also be a good fit for exclusively breastfed babies.
I received this bottle set for free to test through the Stellar Product Testing Panel. We love, love, LOVE these bottles. My twins are mainly breastfed so finding a bottle that they like can be a challenge. My twins had an easy time taking these bottles, I feel that the design mimics the breast so they were easily able to latch onto the bottle and the pace of the feeding was good. My babies didn't gulp down the bottles and they didn't choke at all while drinking. My babies seemed to enjoy the bottles as they were able to drink at their own pace. Usually after drinking a bottle they have a lot of gas and spit up a lot, this did not happen after using these Avent bottles. I like the shape of the bottle as it is easy to hold (especially when holding one in each hand for feeding twins) and the silicone sleeve adds grip and protection incase you or your baby happens to drop the bottle. I love the colour of the included silicone sleeves as well. When turning the bottle upside down the bottle did not drip or leak any milk, the lids screw onto the bottle nice and smooth and the cap fits nice and tight. The quality of these bottles is amazing, we did not have any issues with leakage at all with these bottles. It makes me feel good as a parent knowing that the bottles are made from glass and that they are BPA free. The bottles are well made and feel solid, the measurement lines on the bottles are dark and the bottles hold up well in the dishwasher (another perk of the glass is that you don't have to worry about BPA or chemicals leaching out of the bottles after dishwasher use).Overall, I cannot think of a reason not to love these bottles. I would highly recommend every parent to try these bottles. You won't be disappointed!
I was originally a little skeptical of the no-drip nipple claim as we have other bottles that make a similar claim but still leak. These Avent nipples DO NOT LEAK! They don't leak when held upside down; they don't leak when the nipple is moved or compressed. My husband even shook up formula in the bottle without the lid on and it still did not leak. I have confidence that no milk was leaking into my baby's mouth while he was pausing to breathe and swallow, which is something that both his speech language pathologist and lactation consultant stressed was very important when using both bottle feeding and breastfeeding on a regular basis. Our 10 month old had no problem switching to these bottles for both pumped milk and formula. I wish we had these bottles when he was a newborn to really benefit from the anti-colic valve. These have quickly become our go-to bottles. My husband even washed all the Avent bottles yesterday because he didn't want to go back to using our old bottles. We both really appreciated the wide mouth and simple design as they were very easy to wash and get clean. I feel much better about using these high quality glass bottles instead of plastic ones. The silicone sleeves are a little time consuming to put on so we likely won't use them until our baby starts holding his own bottle and there is more of a risk of it being dropped. Thanks to the Stellar Product Testing Panel for providing me with this bottle set in exchange for an honest review.
I was lucky enough to be gifted these bottles as part of the Stellar Product Testing Panel and have been using them for a few weeks now. My baby is exclusively breastfed but we have been slowly introducing bottles before she goes to daycare in a few months so I was excited to see how she would take to these bottles. To my surprise she took to them quickly and was able to get a deep latch easily thanks to the shape of the nipple. This set comes with 2 different flow nipples (levels 2 & 3) and she was easily able to swallow both the lower and higher flows. We loved that this bottle has an air vent so that she isn’t taking in trapped air when she drinks (you can even see the bubbles escaping while she drinks) and she hasn’t had any tummy issues so far. The glass is a lot heavier than I was expecting and has been able to withstand a few falls of the counter/coffee table with zero issue and we love how incredibly easy it is to clean. The silicone sleeves that these bottles come with is very handy for helping tiny hands hold the bottle but we have noticed it can be a bit of a pain putting the bottle into the diaper bag bottle holders when in the sleeve as it grips the sides but this is definitely not a dealbreaker for us.Overall we love the durability, the ability to alter the flow of milk by swapping out the nipple meaning it can grow with your baby, and how easy they are to clean. We will definitely be recommending these to all of our friends!

My 7 month old exclusively breast-fed baby started refusing bottles at 4 weeks old and I was in the process of trying to get him to take a bottle again when I received the Philips Avent Natural Newborn Glass Bottle Baby Set from the Stellar Product Testing Panel. I did the same thing with this bottle that I had tried with several bottles before - each night I offered my baby some expressed breast milk in a bottle after feeding him at the breast. The first two nights he just chewed on the nipple, but by night three he started sucking and on night four and five he drank all the milk that was offered (80ml). This is after 6 months of not taking a bottle! We had spent tons of money (and so much time) trying all kinds of different nipple shapes, including bottles with more graduated bases that I saw recommended on Instagram for babies with tongue ties. But my baby seemed so much more comfortable with this bottle's wide nipple shape - I think in part because the tip is responsive to his sucking so he isn't getting flooded with milk. I also am so happy that the bottles that worked ended up being glass as we try to limit plastic use in our house. The bottles are heavy so I don't have any concerns about them breaking if they drop but I will continue to help our little one hold the bottle. I don't use the silicone sleeves that come with them because I just find it easier to clean the bottles without them, but it's nice to have the option of using them when my guy is a bit older.
The Philips Avent Natural Newborn Glass Bottle came with 3 small bottles and 2 large bottles and 2 silicone sleeves. To begin, the glass bottles are nice, thick, sturdy and durable which is what you want when you’re feeding your little one. The large shape makes it easy to hold and my little one often uses two hands to grab at it; though she is not old enough to hold the bottles properly. I did notice some slight differences in measurements between the tall and small bottles. For the small bottles, they seem to be off by 10 mL at the 120mL mark-it’s not a big deal; but it’s noticeable when I made formula with the large bottles and transfer to the small bottles.I breastfeed and bottlefeed my baby so my baby did like and take to the nipple’s wide shape; however the ... MoreThe Philips Avent Natural Newborn Glass Bottle came with 3 small bottles and 2 large bottles and 2 silicone sleeves. To begin, the glass bottles are nice, thick, sturdy and durable which is what you want when you’re feeding your little one. For the small bottles, they seem to be off by 10 mL at the 120mL mark-it’s not a big deal; but it’s noticeable when I made formula with the large bottles and transfer to the small bottles.I breastfeed and bottlefeed my baby so my baby did like and take to the nipple’s wide shape; however the bottles did come with no. 2 and no. 3 nipples and I found that my baby preferred an even slower no. 1 nipple (sold separately) and actually ate faster with the slower nipple. She does have the opportunity to stop and pause; but she does drink pretty fast with the slower nipple and does not pause too often. At first I found the silicone sleeves difficult to put on; however after the first couple of times and once you have a method of putting the silicone sleeves on, then it’s really beneficial. I find it incredibly useful (especially for travel) when I’m carrying multiple bottles as the sleeves provide an extra layer of protection so the glass is not hitting each other.I would strongly recommend this product to moms who want to breast and bottle feed their little one; however, I would experiment with the nipple flow to see which is best for your little one. Thanks to the Stellar Product Testing Panel for providing me with this bottle set.
