Got my machine yesterday and had to make a coffee straight away. Once i got the bean strength right it's not a bad coffee. I havent changed the temperature setting and its plenty hot enough for me. My only gripe is that you cant have a true MUG size coffee, even the highest setting (only 3 to choose from ) is not a big coffee. Froth on the cappuccino is ok too. Its a good machine. After I cleared the test waters , I made an espresso , it was aromatic and flavorful . Having a milk frother is absolutely ideal for my drinks , I love it on everything. My next drink because obviously I'm gonna try them all was the Cappuccino. The option of using beans or pre grounds is perfect because my husband has to have whole beans with anything he makes and I prefer to easy scoop my drinks. I called and they gave me a new part and it didn’t work. Then said I needed to get the machine and pack it, I have no box. I have to pay for a box from them. Send it out in the cold in Ottawa and I have no other machine for coffee. No replacement and I work from home, have a teething baby and no coffee. I wouldn’t have bought this if I knew the warranty is like this. Do I have to go buy a new machine for weeks and what happens if it’s freezes with small amounts of water left in it. ??? This machine was bought when it went on sale, after searching for a similar machines at higher prices. My understanding is that it is being discontinued.The 2200 is an entry level machine with one exception. The coffee function is not often found on a machine at this price point. It is very much appreciated.The milk foam for the cappuccino is not coffee shop quality but still very much welcomed. The drinks, espresso and coffee, can be customized to some degree.Daily cleaning is also easy.The first impressions, it has been in use for only a few weeks, a very good. It is a welcome addition the morning routine.
Purchased to replace a Delonghi that had served its time (well) predominantly attracted by the LatteGo feature. This is a pretty misleading feature however as this model doesn’t make lattes! The only milk based drink therefore this is useful for is cappuccino so a bit of a gimmick. The cappuccino option makes a very small serving that doesn’t combine particularly well and needs stirring otherwise your first mouthful is predominantly weak watery coffee. The 2 x coffee option is reasonable but there’s no option to add hot milk via the ‘LatteGo’ and as this replaces a traditional frother you would have to heat milk independently somehow if required. Ran a couple bags of beans through it for the 1st night with back to back double espresso shots. Next morning it started coming to life, as of now 01/05/24 it is making amazing shots to the point if I walk by it and look at it all I want is espresso because it taste so good!!! BTW my son and wife are hooked as well due to to the convenience and ease of use. For our nin*a coffee maker, it has officially been retired and I gave my mother in law my manual espresso machine. There are other maintenance products (descaling kits, lubricating grease, and coffee oil remover) from Philips which are relatively easy to use but the overall maintenance beyond rinsing the brew group is only needed once or twice a year.Aside from a program to froth milk, I would like to see this model improved by putting a metal (stainless steel or chrome) drip tray cover in-place--the plastic grid just has a cheap feel while appearing okay.The water tank will make about 4 large cups of coffee (with some water used for automatic rinses at start-up and shut-down) and the drip tray/grounds container will need to be emptied after about 6-8 cups are made.I would like to see more indicators or an LCD screen to explain what the machine needs/is doing in words. I've had to retrieve the manual to interpret the pattern of LED lights a couple times.Overall, it makes a nice consistent cup of freshly-ground coffee with a couple button presses and makes a cappuccino very easy with the LatteGo attachment. Probably the least fussy espresso machine you can buy.

It simply slips on and off making refilling the milk simpleWhen the machine arrived I worried it wouldn’t fit on my counter under the kitchen cabinets, but it easily slotted in with plenty of room above so that I could top the coffee beans up as when needed.Setting up the machine was the most complicated bit, but luckily Phillips YouTube videos helped me understand a little bit more, rather than just reading the instruction manual. There’s a step by step tutorial which I followed along side the set up, without that I would have probably struggled with just the manual alone.The upkeep and maintenance of the machine is extremely easy. There are several different lights on the machine which indicate if something needs emptying or replacing. With the addition of the filter it means less time descaling. As long as I've kept the different parts of the machine rinsed and cleaned correctly there haven’t be any issues. Eventually the filter will need replacing and they are available to buy from Phillips. Overall, I’m really impressed at how easy this machine is to maintain.By having the coffee machine it’s helped me cut out daily trips to coffee shops on my route to work because I have all I need to make an excellent brew at home. I’ve found a new love for cappuccinos since the arrival of this machine rather than my go to Americanos from the coffee shops.I’ve tried a few different types of coffee beans with this machine and played around with the settings for the perfect strength and found that a 4/5 works best for my taste, depending on the type of drink.The machine itself grinds the beans so that the coffee is always fresh. There is also an option of adding in pre ground coffee into a separate compartment. I tend to sway more towards the beans but that’s just my preference. However I will add that the pre ground is just as delicious, and both provide a delicious crema.The grind settings can be changed by adjusting a small wheel on the bean hopper. I’m quite tall so it's easy for me to see the setting as I adjust, but it could be problematic and more difficult to see the dial if you're a shorter person, or the machine is higher up.Overall, I’m very impressed with this machine, I love the addition of the latte go function and the fact I get a delicious coffee in the comfort of my own home. I do find the machine quite noisy which is a bit of an issue for your neighbours when you’re an early morning riser like myself. However, if you’re after a high quality and fuss free machine then this is the one for you. Ever since it’s arrival there hasn’t been a day where I’ve not used it so it’s a yes from me.

There is no hopper for preground coffee-- you have to add one scoop of coffee at a time to the hopper, which also means there is no double shot or cup mode for ground. THE ABSOLUTE WORST PART: cleaning this thing. It's easier for me to clean a manual machine because I can see all the parts, and there aren't many parts. This machine has a different schedule for everything: clean the water tank weekly, clean the drip tray daily, fill the water tank every 1-2 days, change the filter every three months (based on usage), rinse the be group every week, clean and degrease the brew group every 1-2 months, clean the preground coffee chute every few weeks, and grease the brew group every 2+ months. All of these frequencies change based on your usage. If you let it go for too long before you clean it, there can be grounds all over the inside of the machine, including the brew group, and they stick to the grease (lubricant) on the brew group, making it very difficult to clean. I'd rather clean a manual tamp and portafilter every day. But if you like how a machine makes code and have someone else who's willing to clean the machine, but something like this. Just make sure it makes the type of drink you are looking for: espresso, coffee, cappuccino, hot water.
