Does the job but not excellent

Just imagine how many times you'd have to refill for multiple items. Not to mention the refill plastic lid for the water and the unit itself is of poor quality, doesn't really close properly and you need to be careful when handling the item. I’m not a massive fan of irons so I avoid them as much as possible as I put more creases in the clothing than there was before, so I tend to wear clothes that I can chuck in the dryer. Well that’s all now changed thanks to this amazing little garment steamer I have a whole new wardrobe, it’s so easy to use, you fill the water tank up, plug in, select the power button and wait a few seconds for the amber light to go off, your then ready to go, you select the button in the inside curved section of the steamer and you can keep you finger in for continual steam, or release the button when your moving the garment around. It’s a fantastic garment steamer and I’ve been wandering around ironing things that look creased. One of the best things I find to steam is my bedding, i pop it on the bed then steam my bedding once it’s on the duvet and it’s great, make my room look that little more sleeker. I also love the brush attachment which has been great for my delicate jumpers and clothes, and also the handy heat proof carry case which is fantastic storage, also comes in handy to rest the garment steamer on whilst moving clothes around or waiting of the steamer to cool. Jus over the moon that I’ve managed to get hold of this product and it’s certainly lived up-to my expectations and much more. Only one minor issue for me, I feel that the water tank could be a little better, as dependant on what needs to be steamed the tank can only roughly fully decrease 1/2 items per tank. I will now be getting rid of my iron and using my garment steamer in the future.

Good for a quick freshen up or speedy iron

The instructions were really clear and it really is simple to use, detaching the water reservoir was easy, but I was a bit surprised to see that it only held a small amount of water but also at the same time I was relieved that it didn’t hold much as that would have added to the weight of it. I plugged it in and turned it on and it was ready to use within 45 seconds which was great, this was defiantly something that I was after, something that I can get out quickly and reduce the creases in garments in the time it takes me to set up my ironing board and iron! I first started by hanging a cardigan on the back of the wardrobe door and was surprised to find that the cord was not as long as I had anticipated especially when the idea would be to iron vertically? I guess one of the features I would have like to have seen is a coiled cord that would lengthen as required as this would also save space. I found the handle quite chunky and as I had already thought it was heavy to use when ironing vertically. The silver glove protected my hand from burning whilst ironing the cardigan and although it was not as good as a properly ironed garment, it was quick and it was still wearable. I wouldn't like to do a lot of clothing vertically as my arm and shoulder began to ache after a short while. I managed to iron horizontally and yes the result was better than vertically as it looked “pressed” (see pictures), I also loved that the SmartFlow plate means you can iron any garment safely without damaging it! It worked nicely on school pinafores; those pleated skirts have been a nightmare to iron. However steam and go lets you just do that. I was able to unpack some summer clothes and give them a quick steam, not only were they freshened up, but I was able to steam them and hang them up pretty much instantly so this was defiantly a speedier result than last summer. Unfortunately the steam reservoir only lasted about 12 minutes on a full steam but that did get me through 4/6 items… all of which were hung up and wardrobe ready by the end of that 12 minutes. Overall its a handy item, it would be too big for me to travel with but I will happily store it in my wardrobe for those quick irons that I often need to do.

Good value for what it does
1 October 2022

I bought this steamer largely to take away with me when travelling for weddings, work events etc, and it has proved an excellent and efficient purchase. It doesn't replace an iron - and doesn't claim to - but if you want to get most (not too deep) creases out of most types of fabric it works well. I have used it in hotel rooms and at friends' houses while getting ready, without the hoo-ha of finding an ironing board. It is also useful for refreshing fabrics eg running it over bed sheets and duvet covers while they are in situ. It's relative heavy but still portable. Recommended purchase.

Design: Solid construction with a very manageable weight comparable to a regular steam iron. The water tank is simple (and safe) to remove during use and the 2.5 M power cable is perfectly usable in length. Philips have also included a heatproof storage bag and glove as well as a brush head to aid with different applications. When would you use this? To treat your unpacked clothing at the hotel, to sanitise knitwear/home textiles and items that can stand multiple uses between washing and/or to decrease a small laundry load in around 15-20 minutes. Hope this helps!

Great steamer for small ironing jobs
27 August 2022

Works well and doesnt drip when using. Convenient to be able to use upright on on a flat surface. Good for difficult to iron areas like shoulders of jackets and on ruched or gathered garments. Water tank is small - enough for one large garment or 2 medium ones. Easy to refill water tank. The heat protector glove is really handy for holding the garment near the area you are steaming without the risk of burning your hand. The heatproof bag is good for storing the steamer when its still warm.

Not as good as my last one but ok
6 February 2023

It's ok - does the job. I got this to replace my (somewhat old) similar-shaped Philips handheld garment steamer that conked out. I haven't been using the iron for some time, just steaming as it's so much easier and more gentle on some clothing. I picked this one as it allowed you to steam horizontally and I do stuff on the bed for quick jobs. However unlike my old one once you've used half the tank and you are trying to do some horizontal steaming the steam doesn't come out anymore. It will if steaming vertically, or you have to fill water tank again (and the tank isn't that big, so basically for me in practice the capacity of the tank - shrunk in half.

Pretty good!!

I think this is very useful little steamer to have on hand for getting out light creasing from clothes that have already been ironed but have been hanging or folded in your wardrobe or stuffed in your suitcase (if you're travelling). It's a bit bigger and weightier than I was expecting but still fairly portable and quite powerful for what it is. The steamer is pretty easy to use - you just fill the mini water tank with tap water, plug it in and press the on switch; the light that comes on will go off when the steamer is ready to use (heat-up time is less than a minute). Point the steamer away from your face and press the steam trigger button a couple of times to get the steam flow going and then hold over your garment and press the trigger to get a continuous flow ... MoreI think this is very useful little steamer to have on hand for getting out light creasing from clothes that have already been ironed but have been hanging or folded in your wardrobe or stuffed in your suitcase (if you're travelling). I personally found the steamer to be very effective in getting out creases from my clothes. My wardrobe is admittedly pretty full with little breathing room for my clothes, which tend to get a bit squashed as a result. I've tried the handheld steamer on dresses, t-shirts, skirts and blouses so far, as these tend to crease most easily in my wardrobe. You just hang up your garment, hold the steamer in one hand and use the glove provided to use the other hand to help stretch the garment a bit to smooth out the creases. It works! My garments are smooth and crease-free. There's instructions and tips included in the manual for how best to angle and move the steamer depending on the type of garments you're de-creasing. You also get a little bristle attachment included in the box, useful for heavier weight garments like coats and jackets. Overall quite pleased with my handheld steamer. It's powerful enough to do the job it's supposed to and really handy to have at hand to do de-wrinkle clothes quickly without having to get the iron and ironing board out. It's safe to use with lightweight, delicate fabrics too (which can be scary to iron). Only downsides I've noticed are a) it's a bit cumbersome due to the weight so I can only use it for short periods and b) it is on the pricey side considering there are cheaper handheld steamers available but it feels like a quality product to me

Very happy with this handheld steamer
24 April 2022

I read a few reviews before buying this particular handheld steamer, and I was prepared for the small water container which only does a couple of garments. This suits me fine - if I want to iron, I will get out the ironing board and do a load. This is great for me I want something for steaming out the scarves that get crumpled in my drawer, before wearing them, and the tops which have fold creases from being in my trunk. I use it to freshen up skirts which get creased from sitting down. It's effective, easy to use and not too big. I'm very happy with it.

Works great!

I was weary that it would be a waste of money reading some negative reviews but I'm very excited to see this works perfectly! I don't know what the few negative reviews are about I tested it on a creased denim shirt and it worked so well. As for thin fabrics even quicker and easier. I thing some people don't know how to use it. It does take some persistence on stubborn creases but works great! Only downside is the water tank being small but I guess this keeps it more portable. I would imagine it wouldn't work well for that look of absolute perfection on very formal clothes but for me it's perfect as I don't really wear suits or anything like that. That said I think it would still work great for the purpose of refreshing those types of clothes if not horrifically ... MoreI was weary that it would be a waste of money reading some negative reviews but I'm very excited to see this works perfectly!
