I've been looking at the Philips hue range for years but I just couldn't justify the price tag. Besides I had no intention of shouting 'Alexa' every time I want to switch a light on. Nothing wrong with a light switch.However, our television is hanging flat against the wall with wires hidden away and it looks wonderful but a bit dark part of the room. As an existing user of a number of outside Hue lights I had not considered using the GU10 for my internal room lights. I used these in my hallway and they took seconds to install and they connected to my Phillips Hue App with ease. The controllability of the light brightness and shade is excellent and we have actually decided to upgrade our larger kitchen/diner area with these lights. This will allow us to have separate controllable zones that will be especially useful for entertaining. The only negative is the high cost so we will be doing a bit of saving before the upgrade.

Not quite sure how energy efficient these LED's are but seem to last a long time before they need tobe replaced.Quite expensive but quality so far has been good
I'm a big fan of Hue bulbs. I would definitely say the ambient white are the most versatile. I have them in most of the fittings around my home and they offer a fantastic range of light shades. You will need to buy the hub as the Bluetooth really limits your options. The only negative is once you buy. a few you'll want more. I'd say that the bathroom has been made infinitely better with these bulbs, handy for super bright when applying makeup, dimmer for a relaxing spa experience or nightlight when nature calls at 3am.
I find the non-ambience white bulbs too warm and yellow at 2700k so these are ideal as they can produce a cooler light.I was worried they might not be bright enough but despite being rated at only 350lm the brightness at approx 3000k compares very well with my previous non-smart bulbs rated at 500lm / 3000k
These are great in the kitchen, can change from cool to warm white and anywhere in between. Can also control individually so rather than having them all on, can have only 1, 2 or 3 on. Can also set up timers to switch on and off and control with alexa.Only downside is the cost.

I was hesitant to make this purchase because of the higher than expected start up cost. After taking the plunge I have been more than ecstatic about my decision. I placed them in older cans and I have not missed a beat. I love the app and ability to control from my phone. The bulb is larger than the normal bulb of same specs. I thought i got the wrong bulb at first lol! No worries, It fit and they are awesome.
