Did my investigations/comparisons and decided to bite the bullet and purchase, luckily had vouchers for Chrimbo that covered a lot of the cost but definitely worth it. Apart from the testimonies, etc, another reason for purchasing was that there was a decent returns window if I found that this was not suitable for me. I had another brands device that was painful to use on the more sensitive parts and the treatment window was small thus was a chore to use, but this one was a absolute dream. Treatment time is so quick and easy, and a quick wipe keeps the Prestige looking like new. The first time I used the device I was surprised at how quickly I managed to do face, underarms, bikini and legs and no sensitivity afterwards either. Hair free on legs and lady 'tasche ...Ā MoreDid my investigations/comparisons and decided to bite the bullet and purchase, luckily had vouchers for Chrimbo that covered a lot of the cost but definitely worth it. App useful for keeping track of settings used and reading/watching others experience along with their tips. I have fairly dark skin (verging on the darkest that this can manage) and I would highly recommend this to others.

This product should come with better instructions in the box rather, than and a one sheet pictorial representation which seems to be a little different to the product. In my case, image 13 on the pictorial seemed to show that there are three LEDās to show differing levels of charge status but on the product itself there is only one LED for this. I had to telephone Philips to find out the meaning of the displays from the single LED and, in so doing, got pointed in the direction of a 64 page user manual on their website which gave the information on how to decipher the various phases of flashing lights. I realise that putting a user manual in the box covering all languages would be a bulky document but there must be a way of producing a manual in the official language ...Ā MoreThis product should come with better instructions in the box rather, than and a one sheet pictorial representation which seems to be a little different to the product. Additionally, replacement toothbrush heads for G3 sensitive gums in black HX9054/06 are shown in the Philips online shop as being āno longer availableā ā see photo. Using the websiteās āFind the toothbrush head that is best for you ā Go to advisorā function and selecting G3 Premium Gum Care only brings up one option which is in white. I had to telephone Philips to query this and was given a different code HX9054/33 which the online advisor does not show. The website toothbrush head finder needs to be kept up-to-date by (1) not showing products āno longer availableā e.g. HX9054/06 but (2) showing those which are e.g. HX9054/33. Furthermore, when trying to find my toothbrush on the Philips online system I type in the code on the bottom of my product which is HX680B but that is not recognised. The website needs to recognise all of your product codes.

Iāve been umming and ahing about buying a hair removal device as theyāre abit pricey. So when it was on offer along with student discount I had to take the plunge and go for it. After using it just 3 times I can see amazing results already! I have stubborn Ingrowing facial hair which drove me crazy constantly digging and plucking them, but now I get almost none. That was the main reason for purchasing and Iām so glad I did. Using it elsewhere on my body Iāve noticed less hair growth on the armpits too- arms and legs Iām not too sure about. The reason being itās hard to tell which parts have been zapped and streaks are left which you can only tell later once the hair starts to grow. In smaller areas however itās very visible of hair reduction. The only other thing ...Ā MoreIāve been umming and ahing about buying a hair removal device as theyāre abit pricey. So easy to use with the choice of cord or cordless. Cordless itās great on the under arms and face. I use the power cable on my legs so I can take my time and not miss any areas. I started using it in late December and my legs are now hair free I use setting 5 for legs and only feel a slight tingle on the ankle area, so pleased with the results. My underarms are doing great I just have one or two stubborn hairs left I used setting 4 to start but soon managed 5. I use setting 4 on my upper lip progressing along nicely. I always have a shower before I use so there are no moisturiser on my skin and I moisturise after treatment. ( I have dark brown hair and Beige skin.) I will soon be on the maintenance plan. I set aside time to do my legs, underarms and upper lip the first session took the longest but now am all done in less than an hour. So so much better than waxing. I love the bag that came with the IPL everything fits in nicely just pop the head in first push handle to the bottom put heads in there little pocket and the cable on top perfect.
Bought it as Philips offered a 100 day money back guarantee, so I could try it with no risk. I couldn't find many reviews that discussed whether the product worked with different hair colour, so this is my review. Legs and toes: I have shaved my legs for 40+ years, with dark thicker hair that was stubbly again within a day of shaving. After 1 treatment I could see hair was growing back sparsely and not as thick. After 2 treatments my legs and toes were hair free. No stubble, amazing! Underarms: sparse light brown medium coarse hair which disappeared after 1 treatment Bikini line: 1 treatment saw a huge improvement and problem areas resolved after 2 treatments Face: Having suffered with PCOS I have noticeable facial hair, which is a mix of colours; dark (wiry), ...Ā MoreBought it as Philips offered a 100 day money back guarantee, so I could try it with no risk. Underarms: sparse light brown medium coarse hair which disappeared after 1 treatment Bikini line: 1 treatment saw a huge improvement and problem areas resolved after 2 treatments Face: Having suffered with PCOS I have noticeable facial hair, which is a mix of colours; dark (wiry), blonde (fine), white (wiry). After 2 treatments my upper lip had very little re-growth. I had no white hairs there and it seems to have worked on the finer blond hairs and almost every dark hair after 5 treatments. The blonde hairs on my face have gone, but the very wiry dark and white hairs are still present. I will persevere as I think the number of dark hairs is slowly reducing and possibly getting less wiry, but there is no effect whatsoever on white hairs (which I was expecting as per Philip's guidance). After one treatment a number of dark ingrown hairs on my chin started to grow normally which was a bonus. I also have very fine peach fuzz (blonde/almost white) which seems to be improved, but the jury is out on this as I have never treated it before, so it might just be a slow grower. Conclusion - an amazing device, worth the money and I feel more feminine without hairy legs, toes and stubble. Easy to use but you do have to set time aside (takes me about 70 minutes to do half leg, underarm, bikini and face). You also need to stick to a schedule, if you miss a treatment the instructions say you must start again.
After trying a competitor's product, but not getting the results I expected, I decided to give this device a try. And I am so glad I did! The device is very simple to use, it recommends syncing with a app, which sends you reminders when scheduled to complete another IPL course (which is fab for those with busy schedules!). It is painless, and effective. After using my Lumea for approx 2 months, I am seeing a definite reduction in hair growth (I am fair skinned with dark hair). Hair is definitely more sparse and growth rate has slowed quickly in this short space of time. The product is costly, however Philips offer the Try & Buy scheme (I did not use this however appreciate the option), to enable to you decide whether or not the product works for you before you ...Ā MoreAfter trying a competitor's product, but not getting the results I expected, I decided to give this device a try. I have always had a lot of excess body and facial hair, have spent decades having IPL at the beauticianās with limited success, and have suffered the rashes and ingrown hairs from shaving and waxing since I was a teenager. I have olive skin which tans easily with dark hair. This is the first product which has actually worked. I can go weeks without shaving my underarms and legs, and months between treatments on my face and arms. I no longer have any bikini line hair at all! It has transformed my confidence in my appearance. I used it weekly, then fortnightly, then monthly on each area I treated, and saw great results after a couple of months. I use it monthly- 6 weekly after two years of owning one. Cons? The shape is a bit unwieldy for some areas. Itās still early days but Iāve definitely seen a reduction in hair growth. Arms pits nothing after 4 weeks, bikini 70% and legs 50 %. I have to point out I was very hairy and would have regrowth after a couple of hours with shaving. I also suffered with in growing hairs and waxing never worked. I used to get horrendous itching and more ingrown hairs from various salons. I would wear long shorts and never get into a swimsuit as I used to be so embarrassed. Not only has this already slowed hair growth down my confidence is starting to return as well as improvement to my skin appearance . Extremely pleased indeed. I had tried ipl years ago and it did nothing so expected the same. I bought my Philips Lumea IPL 9000 series in December and started my treatments around 9 January. I do treatments weekly, rather than the recommended fortnightly. I didnāt notice much of a difference for the first 3 or 4 treatments, but now that Iāve been doing it for about 7 weeks itās made a massive difference. I have had IPL treatments in the salon before and also owned a Tria IPL machine. Salon treatments are stronger, so work faster, but the benefit of having your own at-home device is that you can do IPL in multiple places on your body without it costing more, plus you can do it when itās convenient for you. I was happy with my Tria, but then it developed a fault after about 18 months (I think) and so I didnāt use it. I was happy with my Tria, but then it developed a fault after about 18 months (I think) and so I didnāt use it. Then after a while it wouldnāt work at all. Recently, I tried to get it working again. Tria suggested a couple of things, but it didnāt help. Not impressed with the longevity of the Tria one, I bought this Philips machine - the reviews were good and I liked the idea of having a cordless device. However, the battery doesnāt last that long, so donāt worry too much about getting a cordless one. I mostly use mine plugged in. Also, donāt worry about all the attachments - mine has four, but I mostly use the one biggest one. Just like the Tria, it is very easy to use. I probably prefer the look of the Philips one. The best thing about it is the results - I got it because being a lady of a certain age, I started to get chin and upper lip hairs! And I have really dark hair, so very noticeable. I was shaving and plucking twice a day and it was irritating my skin. Thankfully, this has been a Godsend! I donāt have much hair elsewhere due to previous IPL treatments, but some hairs had started to grow back (around knees, odd ones on the armpits, a few dark hairs on the arms, etc), so this has been great for that too. Based on my experience, I thoroughly recommend it. I just hope it lasts longer than my Tria!
I have 2 of these, bought about 2 years apart. The design has not improved in this time. Firstly, this cleans very well. Better than the dentist's cleaning even - I suspect this is removing some stains that scaling and polishing can't. And the good thing is, because the bristles don't really move, it's much more gentle than rotating electric toothbrushes, especially at the gumline. I think this model is as good as the more expensive models (in other words, don't need to buy them). Also, it's on lithium battery, although it doesn't charge particularly fast. The main problem is the button quickly separates and sinks into the body, making a huge gap. I already had one brush replaced under warranty. Both of my brushes are still working and in use, so at least they last ...Ā MoreI have 2 of these, bought about 2 years apart. The design has not improved in this time.
