Introducing the new Philips motion and daylight sensor LED lamps, a clever energy efficient addition to any home. Thanks to a built-in sensor, this modern LED lamp can detect when you walk close-by and turn on automatically. Then, when the surrounding light becomes bright enough, the motion sensor automatically switches off, so the lamp will not turn on, even when there is motion around, thus saving you energy.

This light works really well. Tested with power out on lighting circuit and as previous user posted, it went out. When another light switch was turned on in the same room the backup light worked as it should. Haven’t tested length of time backup lasts though. It would be nice for some sort of manual to point this out because if previous reviewer hadn’t posted their review, I was straight back to Bunnings for a refund.

This bulb works exactly as described and gives a good bright, warm light. I used it outside (under eaves) and inside and it works beautifully. I didn't really need a hands off approach to lighting my laundry but find it surprisingly pleasant not to have to keep toggling the switch. Very nice product, stylish and easy to use, just plug in as with any bayonet light bulb.

Easy to install don’t need an electrician like hard wired motion sensor lights and comes on when motion is detected. I use it on my front porch so I know when someone comes to my house of a night. Also great for when I get home late and the light comes on so I can see what I am doing.

Before you buy any light sensor, first find out how wide the sensor angle is. If it is only 90 degrees then it will not work properly for a standard 2.4m ceiling height for a long hall way until you are already 1-2m close to the sensor detection angle in the dark hall way. If it is used in a small room where the 90 degree detection angle is at knee height of the entrance of the room then it might work ok. A 280 degree sensor is the best for larger rooms, if you can find one in Australia.
This bulb is good. The light is strong and cool. However the motion detection is poor. You have to stand directly under the bulb to get it to activate. You cannot adjust the range, direction or sensitivity.
I brought two globes one for my house, one for my brothers. It gives enough light to allow you to get into the house. Also people are trying to discover where the sensor is when they enter your property. A great deterrent.
I bought a sensor bulb eight years ago for my hallway and it died . I missed my hallway lighting up automatically when I went from living room to bathroom to bed I had trouble sourcing another happily I found a Phillips one in Bunnings. They are so good I have one on my deck, one automatically lights in a store cupboard. Easy to install as it is a light bulb. no wiring or settings
Good service. Came very quickly and well packed to avoid risk of damage. Motion sensor bulb is being used in the dark back lobby of an old house that needs to be traversed to access the toilet. Light senses movement up to about 3 metres away and is quite bright. Disadvantages: We now have no light in that area if we need continuous light which is rarely but can be overcome by movement. Failed to activate on one occasion but OK since. A big improvement over other low-priced sensor lichts from hardware chains. Excellent service and good product.
Nice and bright with a pleasant warm white color. The sensor functions as intended. Don't listen to the other review that gives it a low rating because it doesn't come on during the day, because that's exactly the point! It's only suppose to come on when it's dark and it does just that. When activated the light stays on for about 40 seconds and then turns off.
The bulb worked well. Here's how I tested it: 1. Bulb inserted in light socket in hallway and turned on. 2. Turned off the light circuit breaker in fuse box to simulate a power outage. 3. The bulb stayed on for about 30 sec. 4. To keep it on, I had to turn on another light in the house. Now, the problem is that the other light MUST be an incandescent bulb, not an LED bulb. This is because the battery backup bulb requires a resistive load on the same circuit in order to detect the power failure.
